It is a typical cheesy 80's film. It just happens to have a musical genius for the lead character and my most favorite sound track ever.

Fabulous viewing. Sadly, it reminds you how quickly things can change. A great watch of a talented individual gone too soon.

I love Prince and Morris day and the rest of the cast. The music flows with the storyline. Will be watching over and over.

Although a bit short in the story and dialogue categories this nostalgic trip back to the 80s is fantastic, Prince at his best!

A slight upgrade on a classic film. Audio sounds better than previous blu ray releases. I don't see that much of a difference in the video quality compared to previous releases, but the purple case and improved audio make this edition worthwhile.

Great DVD with a great soundtrack. In fact, there have been many times I played the DVD just as background music, or just for mood-music, while busy with other tasks. What more could you ask for than a triple purpose DVD at a great price, too.

I liked the video and better quality for Blu-Ray for nice price at Best Buy. It was worth picking up as I headed to the check-out.

Prince is an absolute icon and I love him and Apollonia in this movie! This is a must have for the collection.

My love for Prince is eternal. I can't express his impact on my life. Purple Rain is a classic and a must have for any Prince fan.

This film is lovely. The plot has holes, the actors use their real names, and there's Prince. I regret never seeing this film in it's entirety before now, but now I get to own another thing that keeps Prince alive for me. His reign shall never end.

Saw this movie when it first came out in a theater environment. Now that Prince is gone the video has more meaning and realism.

One of the movies I had to sneak to watch as a kid cause of the R rating but still a great movie till this day. Excellent music!!!
