Not Bad..Not Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sone folks are raving, some are disappointed,I am in the middle. Certainly not a great album that will stand the test of time but it's not bad. It's just kinda' so-so....-

Gilmour's best since his 1978 debut + great extras
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I enjoyed my Deluxe CD/Blu-Ray edition of "The Endless River", I was initially hesitant to plunge down similar money for David Gilmour's new solo album "Rattle That Lock", but once I did...boy, I sure made the right decision. Not since his 1978 self-titled solo debut has Gilmour sounded so inspired. "Rattle That Lock" easily outdoes any ill-will left on "On an Island" and the two pre-Endlesss River PF albums released under his leadership following Roger Waters' departure. Sure, it isn't a prog-rock classic and at times, barely even qualifies as prog-rock, but the material presented is quite charming and enjoyable enough to make it a worthy addition to any self-respecting Pink Floyd fan's music collection. As for this Deluxe CD/Blu-Ray package, I say that the extra dough for this release is greatly justified by what is contained inside. A CD of the album, a blu-ray with higher bit-rates, multi-channel mixes, outtakes, music videos, documentaries and other such assorted goodies, plus a guitar pick, a poster, a booklet of the album AND a mini-novel all help make this a very worthy total package that lives up to its "Deluxe Edition" name. A great album with great, seemingly endless extras both in and out of the discs themselves. Highly recommended.

Great Blu-Ray
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not gonna comment on content yet,I have to listen a few times but the BD,5.1 edition is amazing. Very crisp,hi-quality sound and the extras are actually worth a watch/listen! Truly a world class BD!

Mixed Horribly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I love Pink Floyd and David's guitar work, the mixing on this album makes it unlistenable. The vocals and backing sounds have such a compression to them that it grinds on my ears. The guitar work comes through clear as a bell, and the opening track sounds great, but the rest of it made me turn it off before I could get through the whole thing.
