Shouldn’t be labeled sunglasses
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only complaint is the transition effect is almost non existent. I would say it is 110% non existent but there is a SLIGHT tint. It’s does not ever get to the point it looks in the pic or on the RayBan website. Do not get the transition effect or the blue tint. Its a reason the black is always sold out. SN : Fellas the are more of the female version.

Meow! Comfortable, and feature packed.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ray-Ban - Meta Smart Skyler Bluetooth Audio Glasses - Matte Black/Polarized Gradient Graphite Summary: Meow! Comfortable, and feature packed. Use: These glasses are great. They fit well. They look great. They protect my eyes, and they entertain me while I'm out for a stroll with my dogs or going for a little ride on the bike or scooter. Wear them while driving works fine, too, as they fit nice and snug. The audio doesn't work well due to the air flow, but I leave them on so that I can take a picture if I need to of things surrounding me (like when I was on a recent visit to Austin and slowly driving through downtown). The Ray-Ban and Meta collaboration is paying off - these glasses are getting cooler and cooler and more functional with each generation. Take a look below for itemized pros and cons. Pros: * Fit. These units fit nice and snug. They are comfortable to wear for moderate periods of time. * Look. Ray Ban did something different and released a new look. The Skyler have a cat-eyed look to them. Like other models, the privacy light is present, but subdued and relatively inconspicuous. The chalky gray is different and cinnamon gradient lenses are unique. Though I'll need to get them fitted for prescription lenses. * Weight. This unit feels okay. They do rest nicely on the bridge of my nose. An hour or so here an there and I haven't noticed any discomfort I don't feel with any other pair of glasses, dumb or smart. * Build. This unit is similar to other models in the line-up. The arms are a bit stiff, which I like, and it feels well made. * Sleek. The controls have a barely noticeable profile typical for this series and the speakers are well hidden. * Case/ Battery. The carrying case is also the charging case. It has its own battery to charge the glasses while on the go. The case is made to resemble a more classic leather carrying case. The power/charging/pairing LED is thoughtfully present on the magnetic clasp that secures the case closed. The USB-C charging port is on the bottom and the Bluetooth pairing button tucked away in the back. The magnetic clasp has excellent strength and unlikely to open due to a drop. The case itself has two retractable prongs that firmly grip the glasses when placed inside. In fact, maybe too snug! But these ensure that the glasses are making the proper and contact with the charging terminals which are on the bottom side of the nose rest. They also ensure the glasses won't fall out of the case should the clasp come undone during a drop. * Image and Video Quality. These glasses capture awesome pictures and videos. It comes equipped with 32GB of storage and has the same 12 megapixels as the iPhone Pro Max 12 and 13. Images are capture at default portrait 3024x4032. Videos are remarkably stable and filmed at vertical default at 1440x1920 @ 30 FPS. The video clips can be configured to record up to 1-minute continuous footage. Compared to the first generation in this series, the Stories, the Skyler's low light picture taking capabilities is stunning. They work similar to how phones deal with low light, except without the dramatic pause/focusing. I've included some examples of low-light pictures with the Stories vs these Skyler. * Audio. The audio of these glasses is crisp and there is a nice boom to the music. Walking the dogs with these glasses is comfortable. They allow me to be aware of my surroundings, as well. * (Voice) Controls. Spotify Tap is a cool feature that automatically plays songs based on previous listening sessions - with just a (configurable) long tap of the touchpad. The "Hey Meta" commands are quick to respond and make common tasks a breeze. New AI enabled features allow you to ask things like, "what am I looking at?" The new assistant will respond with answers like "you are looking at a room with a coffee table, an assortment of books on the table, a large TV on the wall, and dogs." * Privacy. A departure from the original OG release, this unit features a privacy LED ring that surrounds the camera. It isn't obnoxious, but it is there and allows potential subjects to know that they're "live and on the air." * UV protection. These units are equipped with UV-A and UV-B protective coating for your eyes. You can customize this if you order prescription lenses for your frames. Transition lenses? Yes, please. * App. The app paired quite nicely with the glasses. Wi-Fi enabled synchronization of images and videos from the glasses is a breeze with the app. In fact, you no longer need to have the app open for the sync to happen if the glasses are powered, in their charger, and the option enabled. I tried unpairing/repairing a few times and the process is pretty straight-forward, too. Cons: * Privacy. We have phones, we have home security cameras, we have retail cameras, we even have traffic, drone, and satellite cameras. I don't think it is reasonable to expect any level of privacy while out in public. Therefore, I think the privacy LED should be configurable with the expressed consent of the wearer (i.e. they accept responsibility for any privacy breaches that become an issue). * Battery. I have 0 issues with the battery other than they are advertised to run up to 4 hours with a single charge (36 hours with fully charged case). I found that going for a slow 2 mile walk of about an hour with volume at high-level, snapping a few photos, and a few video clips will knock battery down to about 60%. Perhaps at more moderate volumes, and picture/video activities I could get closer to that "up to" 4 hours on a single charge. I usually wear them 15, 30, 45 minutes at a time and I place them in their case in between uses. I don't think this will be an issue for me.

More fragile than a snowflake in July
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a couple tattoo shops and I thought these would be great to video while I Tattoo. Unfortunately even with a job that doesn’t require much movement or hard labor they didn’t hold up. Three pairs and they all short-circuited or something . Super bummer I was really excited about them but they just didn’t work

Excellent Smart Glasses with Impressive AI!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing I noticed was the build quality of these glasses. They have a certain feel and heft that screams superior build quality, but they aren’t too bulky or heavy to wear. The fit is excellent and snug to my head, and overall, I do enjoy the look and love the color. The lenses aren’t too dark, but dark enough to where I feel like I am getting some light protection during sunny days. The case also serves as a charger that charges the glasses when you place them into it. There is a light on the outside of the case that shows you power levels at a glance, which is a nice touch by Ray-Ban. The glasses themselves are capable to video and taking pictures, which look really good! The videos are stable and pictures shoot at 12MP. Overall, I have been EXTREMELY impressed with both video and picture quality on these glasses. Having the ability to capture or record at the drop of a hat opens up a world of possibilities that were not available to me with a regular phone camera (the ease and quickness of use). The audio on these glasses is also very good. I have been listening to my audio books at about half to a little less than half volume, and it's loud enough for me but does not leak out and bother those around me. Very, very impressed. The AI on these, for me, is the most impressive feature. A simple “Hey, Meta, what am I looking at?” and within seconds, the glasses are able to correctly identify what I am looking at. The quickness and accuracy of the AI on these things is crazy impressive—hats off to Meta for the AI implementation on these glasses. The sky is the limit on these. I do wish the battery was a little better. Within an hour of using it for audiobooks, I have around 50-60% left. It's not the worst thing in the world; it's just a little gripe. Overall, I have been very happy and impressed with these Ray-Ban Meta glasses. The AI is very impressive, the audio quality is excellent, and the video/image quality is on par with phone cameras. Along with an extremely functional APP, these are the smart glasses to get!

Fragile, impossible to repair
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very poorly built product. Bought it as a gift for my wife and it fell apart just after the return period, with no warranty support from Ray Ban. The arm mechanism detached and they fell off her face and stopped working.

Fun, engaging technology!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon opening the box, I immediately noticed the quality of the case. The same thing goes for the glasses, which are made of high-quality plastic and have a nice gloss. I am not sure about the beige-gray color -yet. Although it is pleasant to the eye for some, I personally would go for the black ones instead. Again, this is highly subjective. The glass tint is mild but still does a decent job in sunny conditions. Being mostly plastic, they are quite light, and they fit snugly. After wearing them for 2 hours straight for the first time, I did feel a bit of soreness above my ears after taking them off. This discomfort may lessen as I get used to them and fitting may vary depending on your head shape or size. The case doubles as a charger via USB-C. Sadly, there is no wireless charging support. The battery is decent, lasting more than 3 hours with heavy use. The case adds 32 hours. Setting up the glasses takes some time and a bit of work. Pairing is straight forward as they are Bluetooth. Also, you must have an account or sign up for one for the glasses to work properly, so keep that in mind if you’re uncomfortable with social media. Once the glasses were set up, I was rather impressed by the experience. When it comes to audio, they are better than expected. The bass may not be as impactful as I’d like, but the sound was still warm for the most part. The midrange was full, and the treble was not harsh at all. There is fantastic channel separation, providing a pseudo-3-D impression. For those who know, they sounded like bone induction headsets –without the tickles. The audio can get loud, which makes sound leakage quite noticeable. They are great for ambient awareness, but keep in mind that they are “open” speakers, so it can be difficult to hear in very loud environments. Overall, I had a pleasant experience –especially with audiobooks and podcasts. The call quality also was unexpectedly good. I was able to hear and be heard clearly. It almost seemed like the person was right next to me, albeit sounding slightly digital. These glasses use Meta AI as a digital assistance. It’s quite accurate in answering typical questions and searches. But what’s impressive is the AI’s ability to identify objects (car make-model, shoe brands, etc.), landmarks, and even certain people like celebrities. I must have spent more than 2 hours asking Meta “look and tell me what this is” and things like that on the first try. The biggest attraction to me was the ability to take pictures and video. The picture quality is very, very good. The same goes for video. It looks crisp and vivid. The sound being recorded is binaural and picks up quite nicely. For privacy purposes, the camera has a light that goes on when taking a picture or filming, so be careful as some people don’t like to be filmed/photographed. When ready, the recording or picture can be transferred to the phone and deleted from the glasses. By the way, there is 32GB of on-board storage. You can take pictures by pressing a button on the right side or by telling the AI assistant. I am a bit disappointed that the content can only be taken in vertical mode and up to 60 seconds, although it is perfect for social media-sharing and live casts, which is super easy to do. In the end, I was not expecting to be so enthralled and entertained by these glasses. They spike my curiosity and have quite a lot of utility and functionality –all while looking stylish.

Amazing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been the owner of some audio sunglasses which I use often and like. They are more or less mainstream in look and design, but with the added extra of having that incredible sound via Bluetooth. The Meta Ray Ban's sort of enhance that, but with some added quirks. First of all, the case that comes with the sunglasses is incredible. It is of high quality, look and feel. The charging integration is well thought out and the little light by the clasp does make it all seem more premium. It is a bit of a fight to remove the glasses from the case, as it's held in place for charging, by magnets. It does eventually disconnect and seems to get easier over time. The glasses are very comfortable, and the sound is amazing. I do get some looks as I hold a conversation through my glasses. The ability to record video and snap pictures is fun and a definite added feature. I have ended up using this for all sorts of uses, including everything I take would normally use my phone to take pictures. It's so much nicer to just look and snap or record video while walking and not holding the phone. I'm glad my phone is 1tb as I can see myself talking all sorts of pictures on the fly. The quality is good and the touch function on the side of the glasses work well. A charge lasts a long time as I haven't run down the batteries through a whole day of use. Now for my wish list/ quirks. The glasses could be more main stream in look, color and options. The pair I got were medium lenses, not bad but would have preferred polarized. The shape and color (beige wingtips) are not my number one preferences, a bit too feminine for me! Funny, but I still have been using them for the utility I get from the camera and sound. I looked on Raybans website and there are some more preferential models with better lenses, but not in stock. All in all, I like these glasses and features. Color style and shape not withstanding, the mechanics are amazing and useful. All with the added quality of the sound and video. It was also clearly well designed, as the case and charging is very intuitive and functional.
