Good but could be better.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Functions great, issue I have is the transition doesn't get as dark as I would like and they feel heavy. Over time the weight irritates the ears. Volume quality is clear, image quality is impressive. Translates spanish to english impressively.

Rayban and AI all in one glasses
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Starting off with these are made by Facebook/Meta. Setup is super easy download the app pair up the glasses with your phone and off you go. The Meta AI is pretty decent not quite up to Chat GPT standards but decent. Asking "Hey Meta" "What am I looking at" is gimmicking but useful. The glasses also allow you to listen to music from your favorite source and play near your ears, nice for outdoor yard time. Comfort, they are a little tight on my head but not to the point of causing pain. At their core they are still a nice pair of Ray-Bans. With a single click of a button on the frame you can snap a pic or long press to record up to a 60 second video. The lights on the front of the glasses will illuminate to allow people to know you are recording. Don't bother trying to cover it up because the glasses will stop working until you uncover them. Battery life is decent if you turn off the ai you can get a full day 8 hrs here, using the ai expect to charge in 3-4 hrs. The case is also your charger so easily get a full days use popping them in and out. Facebook Messenger and What's app will allow you to use the glasses as a video chat device allowing the other person to see what you see. I wish the functionality extended past these apps but using it through Facebook Messenger worked well enough. Quality on video and pictures is actually quite good, not quite as nice as a top tier phone but close. All in all these are nice but I find myself describing them as gimmicky at best to most people. At their core you will use them as sun glasses and to listen to music most of the time. When you want to play you will involve the meta ai and maybe the occasional video call. I would urge you to go through the app and turn off all the privacy settings that are available but to each their own. I was asked several times in the app about sending my data to Facebook/Meta so be aware of what you are putting out there. Would recommend overall.

Train wreck product from the start
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not sure why modern technology has to be obtuse to use even with included instructions. I am reviewing this just like someone who has never seen this technology before. And I must say that including the look of the glasses themselves, I am unimpressed. The glasses look cheap - shiney and childish. I thought Raybans were supposed to be special. These are far from special. As the instructions were useless and I had to endure trial and error to get these things to even work, I'll outline the numerous negatives of this product: First, the booklet print is pathetically small and hard to read. Even with glasses. Sadly those who develop this technology don't even consider people with older eyesight. Second, the included black cards had information that did not even apply to my glasses. It said to remove a tab. None was there. I almost destroyed the case pulling on what I thought was a tab. Because of the awful instructions, I had to consult a youtube video which ended up proving there was no tab to remove. At this point after 10 minutes, I was ready to pack this up and to send it back. Had it not been for a third party video, this would have been rated 1 star. Third, no usb-c cable provided so you will have to provide your own to charge the case. Fourth, at no time did my case ever glow blue like it was supposed to even though I charged the case. Fifth, the glasses never connected to the brand new phone I have even after installing the app and updating the software. It took five attempts to get the phone and glasses to work together. Operation of the glasses is not intuitive and the glasses are awful and are not clear. Everything seems distorted and blurry. Oddly, after I learned how to record video, the video was fairly sharp even in low light when viewed on my phone. In the end, I cannot begin to recommend these awful glasses. Wearing them is a tight fit, the lenses are not clear to see through (blurry) and overall operation is far from intuitive. In all my decades of using computers, I must say this is the least satisfactory product I have ever used - it took great expectations and reduced it to "why bother?"

Good in everything other than being sunglasses...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To review these as sunglasses, they are not good enough. There are some cheaper sunglasses that are way better than this one. The functions attached are good and somehow useful. Having such features can be useful some times. Here is what I have: Photo & video qualities are good enough. Better than I expected. The LED recording indicator is very bright and very noticeable. I am sure it is made this way for other people's privacy. Still, it is placed in a weird place. Picture quality is ok in dim lights. Better in outdoor sunlight or more light. The recording LED could better be a flashlight to help the camera... A good advantage of these glasses that you can initiate a video call with someone and let them see what you are seeing in real time. It helps if made for more professional usage level. Something with online meetings and supports. Audio quality is also good. You can hear it even at noisy environment. Very crisp and clear. At a loud level, people around you can hear it though. Voice commands are well received and reaction time is good. A smart ear buds can cover that by the way... Still, having open ears is a good option. Battery life is very good. Better than expected. I got over 3h with intensive use. That's amazing with the small package size. The case charging speed is fast too. USB-C is the way to go. No complaints at this point. Taking the glasses out of the case is something to learn. Not easy at the first time. Internal memory is good. ~30Gb of usable space. Good to store a lot of photos and videos before transferring them to your phone. Data transmission between my phone (Android) and the glasses is very good. Even with videos. The app is very minimalist, easy to understand and get the job done. The glasses are not heavy on your face. Just the usual Ray-Ban stylish sunglasses weight. The lenses are not dark enough for several outdoor activities (talking Texas)... The shade should be darker. The transition idea is good and useful but not as protective as expected. I would say Ray-Ban Meta is good with everything except being sunglasses. I'd strongly recommend buying a product that can separate both features instead of having them combined. Hear me out: It would be better if the smart META AI is coming as an attachment you can add to the glasses (eye wear) and provides the amazing features it has. Would I recommend it? Well, if you like to take a lot of pictures and short videos, outdoor or at a good light, then this is a way to have your hands free (most of the time) and get some quality pictures/videos without too much effort. If you hate earplugs, earpieces, headphones .... You can enjoy these glasses. If you like to look stylish and you are a big brand names user. Ray-Ban is indeed a one to have. Also to consider, the price is fair. It is well in the expected range... For the above mentioned reasons, go ahead and get one! you will like it. Ai is definitely going to change our life...

Meta is driving progression to a future world
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These types of glasses have been around for a while and amongst privacy concerns Meta, and other manufacturers, have gone back to the drawing board to very clearly differentiate these glasses from regular glasses to ensure that people know that whomever is operating them are recording with a visual flashing on the glasses. While this may make "undercover" recording a lot more difficult, for the rest of us who just want to document basic things in our lives, such as our dogs running around playing, these are a great compromise between accessibility and privacy. As an older tech guy I understand, and can identify with, the dislike of certain organizations. We have all had our issues with various social media, myself included, but there can be no denial that Facebook aka Meta now (their new name) is one of the largest tech companies that are driving us to new technology. There are some folks who would seek to halt progress, I applaud Mark and those who lead Meta though for having a vision and working to ensure that vision is going to happen. It is obvious a lot of thought and care has gone into these glasses, that is apparent from the first time you open the small box and take out your glasses. You may be concerned that setting up glasses like these can be a pain, but there is absolutely no need to worry. Setup is very easy and I only had a single issue, the glasses did not connect to my wifi network on the first attempt. I did retry and it worked. That's it. I had these setup in about 10 minutes. Be aware that there are a lot of questions when you set it up to ensure your privacy is not compromised. In general I just accepted the questions to gain access to such tech as the META AI. You can, of course, refuse any of these during setup if you have privacy concerns The tutorial on how to use the glasses is amazing and very short. It walks you through how to take pictures, take videos, use the AI description of what you see (which is amazingly accurate) and connect your phone and wifi to the glasses. Again, the mention here is modules. For example you can enable certain features regarding photographs but disable data communication of your photos to Meta. Things of that nature, to ensure you are not going to be giving Meta any data that you do not want. This is very important for some people, and so this is important to know. Taking a picture, or a video, is quite simply a button press on the glasses for a picture of what you see, versus holding the button for a video. The tutorial also allows you to play music and connect your glasses to whatever music service that you subscribe to, the biggest three are here and I selected Spotify. Taking photos, videos and playing music are all easy to access and work great. The audio is surround sound, it's crazy how well it works and immerses you in music from seemingly everywhere. It sounds amazingly crisp and not at all like it's coming from the glasses somehow. You have to love technology when you use these, you just have to, no matter your stance on anything else! Just truly amazing technology. The AI accurately described everything that I looked at (again this is covered in the tutorial) and is really a nice use if you need it to perhaps look up something that you don't know what it is. The open ear calling is crisp and no issues with anyone hearing me and I could hear everyone clean and clear. These truly are amazing glasses and I really love everything about them. I'm not a real fan of the look of the glasses themselves but that's subjective. This is the only reason for a 1 star deduction. Everything fits into a nice little case which has a place to plug it into USB-C and a bluetooth pairing button. It looks like just a regular sunglasses case too so no worries about someone spotting it (except for when charging when it is lit up of course) and even the Ray Ban on the side is meant to blend in and provide a visual of your glasses versus keeping it sort of low key in case you are in an area where someone may be looking to thieve. Well done Meta, well done. You have a winner here in these glasses.

Decent Pair Of Sunglaassea
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This pair of smart glasses is my first experience with this category of gear so i went in with no expectations. In fact i had no idea what they were so i was going in open minded. With all that being said I can safely say that they are at the very least interesting. First up, the positives about them. They are Ray-Ban glasses which to me says "quality". I've never owned Ray-Bans before and as a pair of sunglasses they seem nice and well made. The tint could stand to be a little darker but that is a minor quibble in the grand scheme of things. One thing i was pleasantly surprised by was the quality of the built in speakers when listening to music. First i wasn't expecting them to have speakers so that starts off as a surprise bonus. The side slider to control the volume is nice and easy to use. Battery life seems ok and I've been able to go an entire day with moderate use with no issue. The charging case feels nice and seems to be made of leather and is itself charged by standard USB-C. A charging cable is not included whidh is fine with me as I already have several lying around. Setup was easy and just required installing the Meta app to my iPhone. The glasses feel a tad bit tight on my head but I do have a larger head and is not an unknown issue. If you wear prescription glasses there is a QR code in the instructions to find a local place to get prescription lenses installed. There are some interesting built in AI features such as asking the glasses to identify what you are currently looking at or other general type queries. Pictures and video shot by the glasses are fairly decent. Now the not go good stuff. The first of those is that I have to install yet another app to my phone. I guess that is to be expected. The app/glasses really want to know your location at all times, not just when using the app, It also asks to connect to the wi-fi network of the glasses and asks you to almost all the time. it also wants you to have the app run constantly in the background and will nag you through notifications to do this. Over all I found these features rather intrusive and a bit disquieting. To say these gave me privacy concerns is putting it mildly,. Over all for what this product is intended for it's a pretty good device. if you are serious about privacy just know going in to limit its access to your phone and services.

Cool, wearable, sunglasses… for ladies
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like to start this review with positive and open up with that. I’ll start by saying the glasses came in a very nice box and the unboxing was a very nice presentation. The Box had easy to follow instructions for downloading the application to set up the glasses. The set up took a little bit of time due to difficulty with pairing at first. Eventually was able to pair and then update the glasses to a few more minutes. The application does a nice job with a walk-through of how the glasses work. Essentially the glasses allow you to listen to Spotify, Amazon Music or Apple Music, which is the services that I have. you can connect to just one of those services with a tap on the glasses. But it worked very well. You can also easily use One of those music applications from your phone to brows the application. I was able to listen to podcast fairly nicely and also listen to music. The glasses even worked with the lifted up onto the forehead if you Had to take off the glasses. Also, the photo and video recording worked really well too. Connect to Instagram and Facebook and upload images from the Glasses Through the Glasses app. Lastly the glasses also use AI, to say hey Meta and ask it a question. Didn’t use the AI function a whole lot and it was slightly buggy, but that’s kind of been the way it is for years between Siri, Alexa and Google. Overall, I think it’s a pretty good execution between fashionable technology that are a nice looking pair of sunglasses, for ladies. Now, for the negative, the glasses pretty much are strictly for ladies. They have a very feminine design and just did not look appropriate on my head and face. In fact after I got the glasses, I noticed that all the advertisements are strictly using women to show off the glasses, Which is basically why I’m giving this four stars. This may be OK for you but just know what it is before you’re getting. The glasses did have a very nice glossy finish and light on the head, even with speakers and cameras built-in.

Assistant on the go - looks really cool!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A smart glasses that works as an assistant on the go! I have the previous version in the Wayfarer model but without the AI feature. When these new Skyler Smart Glasses with Meta AI came out, I knew I have to have it and when it finally arrived, I was so excited to test it out. I already liked the previous version, the photo and video quality are decent and worked for my needs. However, with the addition of AI, this latest model definitely pushed the level up a notch. Similar to the older version, the Skyler smart glasses was easy to link with the Meta app. No problems so far reconnecting whenever I turn this off. Upon taking a few photos, the app shows the photos that are ready to import. Syncing the photos to my iPhone was a breeze - I usually just import all the photos into my phone and just delete the unwanted ones from there which makes the process simpler for me this way. The audio, video and photo quality is really good, I am quite shocked that zooming in the photo reveals the tiny details. What I am really excited about this version is the AI assistant and the ability of the glasses to identify what is in front of me. I am having fun asking the glasses - "Hey Meta, look, what do I see in front of me?" and Meta will tell me what it sees which so far has been accurate. I have also tested it to identify the type of flowers, so far there were a couple of misses but it was able to tell that a flower in front of me has dried out. Haha! I can also ask it random questions similar to a Google assistant, and I can even ask it to play music on Spotify. I wished the screen would show some sort of a grid when taking photos or videos though, as I have taken quite a few shots that weren't centered or objects were cut - most likely my fault as I did not aim properly. The grid may help with centering and making sure objects are within the frame. Otherwise, these smart glasses are a really good assistant to go. I am sure I will enjoy using them during summer.

Take hands-free to a whole new level!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for the new Ray Ban Meta Wayfarer sunglasses with Meta Al built in. Take hands free to a whole new level with Meta Al. Meta can do all kinds of things for you, like take photos with the built in camera. At a concert and want to show off to all your friends, Just ask Meta and you can start streaming live on facebook. And the best part no one else will know that is around you and it's hands free. The photos it takes are decent and very easy to use. The sound quality is good. Sounds like you have ear buds in. When turned up, in a quiet room people around you can hear Meta taking back with you. But its so easy to make calls, send texts or just ask Meta random questions throughout the day. And the sunglasses themselves are the same high quality you would expect from Ray-Ban. The polarized technology intercepts reflections and reduces glare, Virtually eliminates glare from the sun. My eyes are so sensitive I can hardly leave the house without a pair of sunglasses. And these are quickly becoming my favorite pair to wear. They come with a very nice case that also doubles as a charger. I've only had them a week but so far the battery life has been fine not needing to charge in the middle of the day yet.

Good brand but crappy color!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Ray Ban Smart Glasses but here’s a couple things that I don’t like about the Skylar color…for context, I was told that this color is polarized but it’s not. When someone is looking at you, they can see your eyes because the color is super light, not really tinted at all. I was also told that the shade adjust to the light, when you walk outside and it’s sunny, it gets darker and when you walk inside it gets lighter, that’s also not true. Also, the glasses don’t really do a good job on protecting your eyes when the sun is in your eyes while driving, you might as well take them off and stare right at the sun, I feel like that’s because the shade is super light. If I knew that this shade was so crappy, I would’ve got the blue polarized color. Like I said I love the glasses because I wanted them for all the features it has, I just hate the color. The lady that was helping me at the Best Buy and answering my questions when I bought these had no education on these so she didn’t really answer much of my questions. If you’re going to sell these glasses, make sure the employees have an understanding of them so they can answer the customers questions. I wish I had a chance to return them and get a different shade.
