It's stylish and convenient for taking photos and listening to music. However, as sunglasses, the lenses aren't dark enough—I barely notice any change when wearing them.

The interface lags. Connection to phone is very limited and will have you question if it’s even going to sync. I bought it to be more present and be able to record but then having to worry about it recording became an issue

Ray-Ban Meta Skylar Sunglasses – Shiny Chalky Grey We wanted these glasses to go to car shows, walk the dog and easily take pictures and video without our cell phone and the difficulty seeing the phone screen in the sun. Also, if they are Ray-Ban sunglasses, then we thought they will be good in the sun. Cosmetics, Fit and Accessories: First thing I noticed was the color of the glasses, Shiny Chalky Grey. Not so sure of the color, I would have preferred black. The glasses also had cinnamon pink gradient lenses! The glasses also looked like the 1950’s cat-eye glasses! Are these really unisex? These are not our style, but that is a personal preference and is highly subjective. I cannot say the glasses looked good on either one of us and the pink tinted lenses did not keep the sun out of our eyes! I do have to say that the fit was comfortable, they did not dig into our skull right above the ear and they were not too heavy on our nose. The next thing I noticed was the missing charging cable. I had to dig up my extra cell charger to charge before use. Not convenient at all! There is a note on the quick start guide that it was intentionally shipped without a charging cable to reduce on waste. How is this a reduction in waste if I have to purchase the cable separately anyways? Another item I expected from Ray-Ban was a lens cleaning cloth. Didn’t find one of those either! I did like the option to have prescription lenses put in the glasses as a plus! Carrying Case: The glasses came in a leather or faux leather carrying case. The carrying case has its own battery and is charged itself by a USB-C in the back and then charges the glasses in the case. The front closure lights up to tell you the power is Good(green), Medium(yellow), or Low(red). It also tells you by pulsing blue that it is in pairing mode. Most of these lights can be seen by pressing the back button. The glasses will last for 4 hours, but then the case can charge the glasses another 9 times with a total run time of up to 36 hours. Pretty darn good! Set Up: Set up was a breeze! Download the Meta View app and follow the prompts. Nice! They even had a short tutorial on how to use the glasses to take pictures, videos, and listen to music. To take calls and send texts, it prompts you to allow connection to contacts and allow meta view to make calls and texts. Pretty nice and simple. Picture, Video and Audio: This is amazing! So much more convenient than pulling out your phone, unlock it, open the camera app and take a picture which you can’t see in the sun anyways. The pictures it takes looks like it is from a 12 MP wide-angle lens and is crisp and clear. I added a few pictures from the glasses at the latest car show we attended. The picture from the glasses looks smaller and farther than seen by the naked eye, but the pictures and video are absolutely awesome! My husband did have some interference with the brim of his baseball cap, but only sometimes. The video times out after 60 seconds and stops recording but it is easy to start another to pick up where you left off. The video is clear and smooth. It does not jump around when you are walking. The pictures and videos download immediately if within Bluetooth range of your phone whether the app is opened or not. Once you start a video and you are listening to music, the music shuts off, which makes sense since the video is recording audio as well. I never liked walking outside with earphones or earbuds that doesn’t allow you to hear your environment. These glasses allow you to listen to clear, crisp and full-bodied music and still hear your surrounding environment. By the way, other people can hear the music too. It is not a totally personal experience. But that is ok. It would be nice if the volume was able to go higher. People that are hard of hearing or don’t wear their hearing aid can hardly hear the music. Meta AI: The Meta AI is fabulous! How many times are you outside or shopping and have a question or need clarification on something and have to pull the cell phone out to find the answer? Now you just ask “Hey Meta” and you get the answer. I love that! It can describe what you are seeing and just about any other question you ask, it will give good answers. Meta AI will also make a call for you and send a text message. When I used Meta AI to make a call, it went smoothly. When the person did not answer and it went to voice mail, I was unable to have Meta disconnect the call and there were no buttons to hit to disconnect the call either. Maybe this was user error. I still had to pull out my phone and hang up. The text message I sent also went smoothly, but noticed that Meta misspelled the person’s name, even though it is spelled correctly in my contacts. Overall, these glasses are awesome! I would have liked the black ones better and less of a cat-eye shape to the glasses. The pictures and videos are wonderful too! It is just amazing they can pack all this technology in a pair of sunglasses! I took one star off for style, color, and not dark enough for sunglasses.

These specs are way too big for a standard face. I bought a pair that was suggested for a petite or smaller individual and they don’t stay on your face. It’s a complete waste of money.
