Taking hands-free photos and videos with just a voice command or tap feels like sci-fi made real. The audio is crisp and surprisingly immersive, yet still lets me stay aware of my surroundings. Great for music, podcasts, or calls while walking, filming, or even editing BTS content for my creative projects. I also really appreciated how smooth the setup process was. The Meta View app makes syncing everything super intuitive. Best Buy’s in-store team gave me a quick overview, and I was fully up and running in minutes. Following the highly successful Ray-Ban Stories comes the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Smart Glasses. They are stylish eyewear that offer audio and visual features. My pair featured the polarized gradient lenses with the matte black finish. Within the eco-friendly and minimalistic packaging: • Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Smart Glasses • Charging Case and Cleaning Cloth • Quick Setup Guide • Safety and Warranty Booklet The charge case requires a USB-C cable which is not included as the expectation is they are currently ubiquitous. Connecting to your new sunglasses is made possible via Bluetooth 5.3 and the Meta View app, previously Facebook View. A Meta account is required for the app. Once powered on and connected to the app, there’s a tutorial on the basic functions such as taking pictures, starting a video recording, pausing a track and adjusting the volume. There are three basic menus in the app: • Home: Provides tutorial videos and short feature summaries • Gallery: Displays all pictures and videos captured by the account user • Settings: Options for configuring LED notification brightness, shutter options (i.e. long press for video, short press for pictures and vice versa), language and voice, wear detection, updates etc. Quality and durability, synonymous with Ray-Ban’s history, are evident in the construction of the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Smart Glasses. The hinges are sturdy with no play. The left temple houses the camera while the right accommodates the capture LED to notify the public the camera’s in operation. A second notification LED for the user is located on the inside of the right rim. This LED has three options for brightness control. As the name implies, it provides status indications via different colors as needed. The right temple also features the touchpad, a speaker (with two openings), the shutter button and two microphones. The taps on the touchpad now offer an improved feedback that help confirm gestures. On the left temple is another speaker (with two openings), two microphones and a toggle power switch. The last of the five microphones is located close to the left nose pad. Charge port is tucked out of sight under the bridge. As previously stated, the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Smart Glasses feature a single ultra-wide 12 MP HD camera. It is capable of crisp resolutions of up to 3024 x 4032 pixels for stills and 1440 x 1920 pixels @ 30 Fps for videos. During the day and in well-lit environments, pictures are sharp and reproduce colors accurately. For video capture, there are three options for lengths, 15, 30 and 60 seconds. The Meta View app provides the ability to share content directly to Facebook (Live, Post or Story), Instagram (Live, Post or Story), Messenger or WhatsApp. Should you require to email, print or share via Bluetooth etc. the options also exist via the extended share menu. The five-microphone array setup ensures that conversations and content audio are delivered clearly. A novelty with these sunglasses is the ability to listen to audio or engage in conversation while still being aware of your ambient conditions. This is all made possible by the two speakers located on each temple. In operation, they are able to deliver crisp, clear low to midranges and even some bass. While this setup will never replace your in-ear options, it’s a technological feat how sound is directed specifically for the users for the utmost discretion. “Okay Meta” or “Hey Meta” wakes up the assistant (Meta AI) for handsfree operation. In my experience, I have been successful in getting the tasks below accomplished. This is by no means an exhaustive list: • Record video • Take pictures • Tell time and date • Provide temperature conditions and location • Initiate calls via phone or WhatsApp • Send text messages via phone The remarkable thing with this assistant is its continued evolution. Interaction is conversational and intuitive thanks to the AI. It asks the right questions to hone in on the desired action prior to execution. For calls and text messages, it appears to go by the default number assigned to the contact. As a WhatsApp contact can have multiple numbers without the traditional “default”, the assistant advised the presence of multiple numbers and suggested renaming them differently. I have no doubt about the addition of more features with updates. To further portray commitment to security and privacy, there is now a new “verified sessions” feature which seeks to prevent unauthorized calls or messages. When enabled, the user must complete an authentication on the connected smartphone when a call or message is attempted. Once verified, it remains in that state until the sunglasses are removed. Yes, there is wear detection aboard! The charge case has been redesigned to accommodate the location of the charging port on the sunglasses. While the new design is refreshing, I could not help but miss the constant charging status indicator on the previous iteration. The new case will show the charging status when the clasp is toggled. The LED design on the new case is definitely very refreshing. The four-hour battery life of the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Smart Glasses are also supplemented with eight additional charges via the case from a full charge according to Ray-Ban. This, of course, will vary on an individual basis and can be subject to a myriad of factors. Prior to the Ray-Ban Stories and now the Meta Wayfarer Smart Glasses, I did not realize the need for these devices that are able to fill this unique niche. I do not see how we will ever go without them, especially considering the ever-improving AI. The convenience of handsfree operation, for both audio and video functions, is worth every ounce in its weight! I highly recommend them.

These glasses are not the most stylish but they are super fun and I love how seamless the transitions are. They go with everything even if they make me look a bit dorky! No issues with them so far that a quick reboot can’t fix. The speakers/music aspect is phenomenal, it’s honestly what sold me initially. Picture quality isn’t half bad either. Fit great on the face. Have a nice weight to them and feel very secure. Battery life is mehhh. Worth the money? Maybe not, but I still like them enough and I’ll use them enough down the road to justify blowing a bunch of money on these.

video works great on these even when riding bumpy mountain bike trails.. image stabilization works very well.. sound quality is great when listening to music, phone calls, and ai responses,.. microphone noise cancelling is awesome. Only complaint is about the battery,.. it charges fast when you use the case but if you are going to use it for video and photos a lot you will have to recharge the glasses a few times a day. But if just using for headphone replacement and ai functions you can get through half of the day or more on one charge in my experience. Also live video streaming for Instagram and WhatsApp is very cool to use especially if you need to show people how to do something and you need both hands free. Once you have a pair of these you'll have a hard time living withoiut them.

I have really enjoyed these glasses, the clarity, vision, video and sound is awesome, the translation is even on point. The few things i dislike about the glasses are, they do not stay charged for a very long time, i give or take just a few hours before you have to place back into the case for charging, so i still have to carry around my ear buds for back up, something i was really hoping to get away from bc ive gotten the elastic piece stuck in my ear before. Back to the charging, although they dont last long as far as charging once you place them back into the case they charge really fast, like 1-2% a min. The video recording doesn't seem to last more than 3 mins before you have to start a new video. I like the video feature bc these days you never know what may surprise you in which you could benefit from having certain situations videoed, 3 mins is quite short. Overall its a great buy for what its capable of doing but im sure in the near future somethings may change.

Thanks to these glasses, I’ve been able to capture POV videos of my one-year-old daughter toddling around outdoor parks, indoor playgrounds, church sanctuaries and more. And how great to record precious moments that would pass before i’m able to whip out my phone camera! Not to mention, i can take mirror selfies with no visible camera! The (portrait/vertical-only) 1080p media can be cropped and even upscaled using various apps later. Smaller files (3:00 min max) make for fast file transfers. Recording drains the battery more quickly, but at this price, i just got two. I can switch glasses (both with transistion lenses) when one needs to recharge (in the handsome case). I hope my wife and family will re-watch these clips for years to come. Priceless.

I have been a tech nerd for bluetooth sunglasses for a few months now. I bought some online from Amazon and was very pleased. When I saw these I geeked out and bought them. I then had prescription lenses put in them. I am very happy with them. Below are a few notes: Sound - has been the best of all the bluetooth glasses brands I have bought, great sound (obviously not for loud venues). Fit - I got the large size and probably should have gotten the smaller one. These are a bit heavy so the larger size makes them slide down a bit but it's manageable. Picture taking - is great looks good clear images The app is good, you can coordinate it to your iPhone so you can make calls or send texts saying 'hey Meta' Battery life - the only reason it does not get 5 stars. it's convenient to charge them in the case, but my biggest issue with these is the minimal battery life. it really only does last 4 hours. I've tried to manually turn them off when not using them but it sucks to have to remember to do this all the time. I would sit at work listening to music with these only to have them remind me of low battery after a few hours. Overall - fantastic glasses but hopefully later iterations will have better battery life.

Loving the new Meta glasses, so many features and many improvements compared to the the older Stories. Lets start with the case, both are the charging dock for the glasses but this is much smaller and much nicer looking than the previous stories case, also holds on to a charge way longer. I have had the glasses for a week and have only needed to plug the case in once. Now the glasses have many improvements, also they feel lighter than the stories; significantly lighter; but comfort is not the only improvement I notice, the sound has also been significantly improved, it is not necessarily louder, but definitely better, it is a much crispier sound and way improved bass compared to the stories glasses. Battery life feels also improved, but then again, I am comparing a brand new set of glasses with a one year old so that could also be a part of it. As far as the camera goes, the quality has gone up and it can record longer clips. It still has the same controls on the side arm for volume, play stop etc. However the AI voice commands is where it really is at. I love just saying "Hey meta" and just asking it to take a picture or video. Just frees your hands so you can enjoy what you are doing. I use it mainly when I on a hike or riding my bike and want to take pics of the scenery. Fabulous. You have to install the Meta view app and these is the brains of the operation. From there you can see your pics, videos, share to apps (I love sharing my pics with my friends on WhatsApp). These are "smart" glasses, but they are still a nice pair of sunglasses and the quality is top notch. The black tint is of a lighter shade of black, these are not pitch black, and I love them, they give you great UV protection. I absolutely love these new Ray-Ban meta, you will not regret the investment
