Absolutely Amazing – The Future on My Face!

I’m blown away by how incredible these Ray-Ban Meta glasses are. They look just like a stylish pair of Ray-Bans, but the technology inside takes them to a whole new level. The camera quality is crystal clear, the audio is surprisingly rich for such a small frame, and the hands-free controls make it so easy to capture photos, videos, or even take calls without pulling out my phone. The integration with Meta is seamless—uploading and sharing is effortless. Battery life easily gets me through a full day of use, and the charging case is compact and sleek. They’re comfortable to wear for hours, and I get compliments every time I have them on. If you want something that blends classic style with cutting-edge tech, these are 100% worth it. Ray-Ban and Meta nailed it—highly recommend!

Hi Minal, thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful and detailed review!

That 12 MP ultra-wide camera is surprisingly good, isn't it? Overall they're pretty futuristic, but stylish at the same time. So, we're not surprised you're receiving compliments!

The seamless combination of technology with a familiar, classic Ray-Ban design is what we believe makes them truly innovative. Though, we may be slightly biased...

Thank you for being by our side whilst we work towards a future with endless possibilities! RaybanStories

    An Improvement to the Stories

I have the original Ray-Ban Stories and while they are nice there were some shortcomings. The Ray-Ban Meta – Wayfarer offers some improvements. As far as style, they look like Wayfarer’s, but you can tell these are smart glasses due to the camera. Most people you come across will never realize you’re wearing smart glasses unless they get a close look at them or hear you listening to music or talking through them to your phone. The lenses are typical Ray-Ban quality and are great, especially the polarized version that really helps to cut down on glare and reflections. The case is nice and sturdy and includes a battery to charge the glasses without needing to plug them into an outlet. You will get about 8 charges out of the case before it needs to be recharged. The glasses themselves last about 4 hours on a single charge. The frames are sturdy with the charging contact points moved from the hinge to the underside of the nose piece. This didn’t affect wear comfort at all for me. The glasses are kept secure inside the case by a magnet and so is the closure. There is a status light on the front of the case to let you know what’s going on with your glasses. There is 32 GB of memory so you can store about 500 photos or about 50 videos on the glasses. So, let’s get into use of the glasses. Flip the switch on the left earpiece to turn them on. There is a small status light on the right side of the frame that faces towards you so you can see it while wearing them. When you put the glasses on it senses that you just put them on your face and the glasses tell you its battery level. It can even sense when you flip the glasses up on your head and pull them back down over your eyes. They are easy to pair with your phone and they include a microphone for giving commands or speaking on calls. Just say “Hey Meta” and give your command after the glasses let you know they are listening. You can’t control 3rd party apps on your phone, but you can control the phone itself to send calls and messages, take a picture or video, check on the battery status, get the time and date, control media playback and volume, take and send a picture to a contact on your phone, and a few other things. You can also link to some services, like Spotify. There is button on the right earpiece to control the camera for pictures and video as well as a touch panel where you can slide your finger in different directions to control things like volume, and to pause media. The speakers work well and because they are so close to your ears you don’t need to turn them up too loud. When listening to music they give a great 3D spatial feeling as if you are surrounded by the music. There isn’t a lot of bass here, but they also don’t sound tinny or flat. Just a nice overall sound. Sound quality while on calls is equally good and the microphone does a good job picking up your voice and it sounds clear on the other end. The camera is slightly improved at 12 MP and you can now record video clips for up to 60 seconds. To access the pictures and video you take you just need to open the app on your phone. The media is still squarish, but the quality is good. I would very much prefer pictures and video to be recorded in a 16x9 format. Overall, a nice improvement to the Stories and easy to recommend if you’re in the market for smart glasses.

I can consider myself an owner of one of the first pairs of Ray-Ban's smart sunglasses, but I've never been able to count myself as much of a user of them. While they are stylish and somewhat cool to use they were marred by a variety of flaws. The lenses were non-replaceable, making them either unreasonably expensive or largely useless to anyone who required a prescription. The audio quality was somewhat mediocre. And the quality of the cameras left a lot to be desired. This second generation manages to improve on just about everything about the first attempt - though it admittedly does still have a bit of room for improvement. First up, let's talk about the elephant in the room: the lenses. With the original glasses you could only get lenses installed in the factory, and most opticians wouldn't even consider working on them if the originals got damaged or you found yourself wanting to get a prescription made up. The lenses in this version can be replaced, though admittedly you do need to take them into one of their approved partners for this service. The price is fairly reasonable for Ray-Ban branded optics, and while at the moment selection is fairly limited this is something that could realistically be improved over time. I do find myself missing the option for transition lenses, which is what I had with my last pair, but the polarized gradient lenses I got with this one are great sunglasses and offer sterling clarity out in the field. Next up is the frame. Once again, my original pair was pretty good but not perfect. It was a bit bulky and heavy around the temples, which could lead to some discomfort after a while. Additionally the sound produced by the built in directional speakers lacked good bass response, even going by the somewhat lower standards of open-air headphone designs like this. The new pair feels like it's got a much better balance and while tolerances haven't changed much they have changed enough to alleviate the pain that came with prolonged use. And much to my surprise, they sound amazing. Music and speech both come through very clear and there's bass to spare, almost as good as my in-ear headphones. They've also got plenty of volume - perhaps a little too much, in fact. Audio bleed is definitely a thing so if privacy is your goal you may not want to make use of these for calls or listening to your favorite music. But my main use case is biking or going for hikes with my dog, and I find them to be perfect for that. Finally, the cameras. The new cameras they've installed here are significantly improved over the last generation, offering much greater clarity for both video and still images. There's also the new ability to do live streaming. I'll admit that this feature still feels rather odd to me, but it's undeniably cool. I'm still not quite ready to make these my daily glasses - I'd definitely want transition lenses for that as I don't want to have to choose between being able to listen to my invisible earbuds or being that weird guy wandering around a convenience store with dark sunglasses on. But they have managed to fulfill the promise of the originals of being the best smart glasses currently on the market. They're an easy recommendation for me - assuming of course you're willing to pay Ray-Ban prices.

As an owner of the original Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses I can say the 2nd generation are a welcomed upgrade that I believe will only improve with time. Starting out with the unboxing, they come in a pretty simple box that does not include much except the glasses, charging case, cleaning cloth, and paperwork. As far as I could tell they did not include a charging cable, which came to me as a surprise. Quite honestly, it does not bother me because I have 100 USB-C cables lying around that I can use to charge them. The charging case is also upgraded in style. It is elegant brown leather with a classic styling. Honestly, most people would not even realize it was a charging case. The glasses themselves are also upgraded in design. The hinges appear to be much sturdier. The matte black design with polarized lenses is my favorite color they come in. They are thicker than regular Ray-Bans and after wearing them for long periods of time you can tell. However, to the average person they would not be able to tell the difference without looking closely. The touch controls on the sides are easy to use and intuitive. On one side there is a camera and on the other there is a much bigger light than the previous generations. Although I do not believe the average person will notice the light it was increased to ensure people know you are recording. Capturing photos and videos has never been easier. These smart glasses make it so easy to record first person videos without having to hold a camera or phone. Both the photo quality and video resolutions have been upgraded. Although they might not be on part with the latest cell phone quality, they are not bad and very usable for social media. The video aspect ratio is now portrait vs the square aspect ratio on the last generation. Videos can be uploaded directly to social media and there are even live streaming options which is a great feature. Taking voice calls, listening to music, and using Meta AI has never been easier with the new generation of smart glasses. The built-in speakers have been upgraded and are much louder. It is noticeable and makes them much better for taking calls or listening to music. The microphones do a decent job and cancelling out background noise and it is possible to take phone calls on them. Simply saying “Hey Meta” will open a personal assistant than can help you make phone calls and answer questions. Meta plans to expand the AI capabilities of these glasses next year and I am excited to see how much better they become. Ray-Bans are on the more expensive side when it comes to sunglasses. I believe that these are a great deal when you consider you are getting Ray-Bans and everything else inside. I think just about anyone can find use in these but especially those who wish they always had a camera on them at all times.

In the box is the smart glasses, a charging case, USB-C charging cord, a lens cleansing cloth and warranty/quick start guide. First Impression - Compared to my previous wayfarer smart glasses, the product box was way simpler, which made it less fancy. I do like the redesign of the charging case and how the glasses actually charge. No longer do they charge from the temple but they charge from the bridge of your nose which makes charger easier to seat. Previously, you had to pay attention to how the glasses fit in the charging case because if not seated properly, they would not charge. Comfort - The comfort is good, they are the normal traditional RayBan cut, so they are still comfortable. The arms are thinner than the original wayfarers, so that helps as well. The hinges are a thicker metal hinge, so they feel a lot stronger/sturdier. Functionality - The app has been updated/changed and is now called Meta and you can use this app for the old wayfarers and this new pair of smart glasses. You still have the on and off button on the inside of the left arm. The capture button is on the right arm on the top; Quick press for pictures, long press for video. Volume, up and down/track skip and reverse/start and stop, is a touch button on the outside of the right arm. (This function is available when you sign into Spotify in the app.) Google assistant is included and it reads you your messages from all different platforms, reads your calendar with the press of a button on the right side arm of the smart glasses. You can also talk to the glasses and tell google assistant what action you want to take. Another feature I noticed, if you listening to music and you can’t hear, you can cup you ear with your hand and the music will be louder. The audio capture is lot better and the video and photo is about the same; they were both already pretty good, so no need for much improvement there. The calling and receiving calls was already great and it is still great on these smart glasses. Right now, I am learning more and more about this pair of smart glasses and I am definitely loving the upgrades and updates. So far, no cons - I forgot to mention that the case has a charge light on the front, so if you have another pair of RayBans with the time color case, you should be able to tell which case goes with which pair of sunglasses. Also, there is a USB-C port on the bottom. Overall, so far, this upgrade is a five out of five and I would highly recommend to friends and family.

    Worthy Upgrade to the originals

The Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer smart glasses are an upgrade in just about every way to the original Stories glasses. These glasses feature an upgraded 12MP camera for better pictures and videos. The speakers and mics have been upgraded for better sound and sound capture. In fact, there are now 5 total mics, so you can capture better surround sound in your videos. In addition to these upgrades, the glasses can now livestream to instagram and facebook, which is a really cool new feature that I really enjoyed. You will get the best results if you are on wifi, but it is possible to stream with just a cell connection too. However, I definitely had mixed results this way. Sometimes the stream just wouldn't start, or it would start and just be really low quality. This is all dependent of course, on your signal quality. But either way, it is great to have the option. Recorded videos now look a lot better than the previous glasses. The old glasses I think had 5MP cameras. Compared to the 12MP camera of the new glasses, it's like night and day. In addition to hardware upgrades, the software has gotten a makeover as well. First of all, the voice recognition now sports AI, and seems a lot more useful now. On the old glasses I would really only use voice control to start or stop videos or take pictures. Now it is a lot more useful, and it's easy to make calls, send messages, even ask questions. The smartphone app itself also got a pretty nice update. The old app was a bit buggy for me, especially while syncing my captured photos and videos. With the new app, I have yet to have any problems whatsoever. The app connects and syncs your content seamlessly. I am absolutely loving taking videos and loading them right on my phone so easily. The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses feel like what was promised with the Stories. While I enjoyed the Stories for what they were, they always felt like a first-gen product that didn't quite live up to their potential. I found that I used them less and less until I wasn't using them at all. These updated specs however, have reinvigorated my interest in the concept of smart glasses and I am excited again to see what content I will capture with these. I would definitely recommend these to anyone interested.

First off...OMG, the sound for not having an in ear speaker is amazingly clear, detailed, has volume, and doesn't disturb your neighbors. I have literally been wearing these around just to listen to music, take calls, and stream youtube. I wear my sunglasses at night! Seriously though I was shocked at the sound quality, worth it just for that. Then I got around to using the photo and video function. Takes great wide pics and videos. Would like a zoom feature, like 2x, 4x tap in future models, but quality is on point. After you get through the initial giddiness over the smart functions you also have great ray ban sunglasses. They are a tiny bit bulky, but are solid, look great, have a superior case compared to regular sunglasses, and the vision is especially clear in regular sunglasses use. I don't think I can say enough that these are a must buy for anyone who is out in the sun, takes calls, listens to music, and has been looking for an easier way to snap a photo without getting the bulky phone out and fumbling with buttons, taps, etc. Do yourself a solid and...treat yo'self
