Customers often highlight the BlackWidow V4 Pro's excellent keyboard quality and visually appealing RGB lighting. The comfortable wrist rest and responsive key feel are also appreciated. Some find the price a bit high, while others have noted the software can be difficult to use.

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is a huge achievement for a gaming keyboard. Razer has taken the best features of keyboards from several manufacturers and targeted user segments and combined the in one device. Add in the highly customizable RGB lighting and this really seals the deal as a top tier product.
Feature wise, the first thing that will jump out to many people are the two wired USB-C connections coming off the back of the keyboard. Razer has made an interesting choice here to add a passthrough USB port while keeping to the lowest possible latency for both keyboard and passthrough port - there is not a USB hub involved in this connection. The connection for the keyboard itself can be configured up to an 8000hz sync rate, and the passthrough port is straight through as well for the lowest possible latency when used with a Razer hyperspeed 2.4ghz dongle. As a result, I was able to clean up my desk a little by having plugging my Viper 2 Pro's dongle into the keyboard rather than having to have a USB dongle hanging somewhere else out of sight but within range of my mouse.
Another unique feature of the BlackWidow V4 Pro are the MANY extra keys which can be configured for pretty much any function you can think of. To the left of the main keyboard section are the M1-M5 macro keys and the customizable dial at the top left of the keyboard. On top of being customizable, many of the functions you can program to these keys can be stored in onboard memory so you can use them even if the computer is not running Synapse. That's incredibly useful to me as I use my keyboard both with my corporate owned laptop for work as well as my personal gaming desktop - and obviously I can't install Synapse on the corporate PC. There are 3 additional buttons on the far left edge of the keyboard which are incredibly useful as well. By default they are mapped (top to bottom) to the windows Screen snip hotkey (normally Win+Shift+S), then the Xbox Game bar (Win+G), and finally the windows Task View interface. I honestly don't know what I'd use the task view interface for with my personal gaming machine but this is something I use all the time when working so these features are a godsend. The only complaint I have with them is these 3 buttons on the left edge are very sensitive and that's normally where I set my phone when sitting at my desk, so I kept tapping them inadvertently at first. Definitely not a deal breaker but something to keep in mind.
The RGB lighting on the BlackWidow V4 Pro is impressive and extremely responsive. The extra lightstrip that's built into the edges of the detachable wristrest is a pretty cool addition if a little meme-worthy :). I used Synapse to create a custom lighting pattern that layers a few things on top of each other when using with my personal PC.
I also wanted to draw attention to the Razer Axon software that's available for Windows PCs. I admit to not really being much of an RGB guy in general, but I have been playing around with the Chroma enabled desktop backgrounds for the last week and there are some cool choices. If you have an all-Razer desk this might be even more enjoyable (my only Chroma accessories are the BlackWidow and the Goliathus extended mousepad). A side note about the wristrest - this thing is PLUSH. I love it.
Finally, can't do a keyboard review without talking about the typing experience itself. This is a premium mainstream keyboard at a premium mainstream price. Razer's made the choice to cram in a ton of extra features beyond a standard 104 key unit. Some other brands have keyboards approaching this price with fewer features which will include PBT keycaps. Razer has kind of hedged a bit with the keycaps. They are still ABS, but they are doubleshot ABS with an interesting textured finish on the top of the keycap similar to what you'd get on a PBT set. For one, the keycaps do feel more premium than the basic ABS ones on inexpensive keyboards. Two, the doubleshot nature should mean they hold up better than less expensive boards where the enamel can chip. Finally, the texture is supposedly going to hold up better than standard ABS keycaps that begin to show oil and wear pretty quickly. After a week of use, I am not seeing that shiny finish you get after using a standard ABS keyboard, so I'm impressed there. I will probably still buy the Razer PBT keycap set you can buy as an add on, but I'm not rushing to do it. The Razer Green switches feel pretty much like any other basic clicky switch. Actuation is smooth and the click is nice and audible which I prefer. I've read some complaints about consistency of the tactile bump + clicky sound on this keyboard and I did not find it to have these issues. Pretty much every key sounds and feels the same on my board. I have zero complaints about responsiveness of the keys when gaming or typing for work.
Two thumbs and 8 additional fingers up for the BlackWidow V4 Pro. It's basically the perfect keyboard for my use case.

I had been using the Razer Ornata Chroma (Destiny 2 Edition) for quite some time, most everything else with my computer had been updated with the exception of my Keyboard. The Razer has been reliable so I took to getting a new Keyboard from them with a few added features.
I had been gaming on PC on and off, but have gotten back in to it much more now that my boys are getting older, the RGB on the keyboard always got their attention when they were younger, Razer has amazing addressable RGB, I typically keep a static blue with a reactive color on key press. The Synapse software allows you to get as wild as you want with it, so you can play with it to your liking.
The Blackwidow V4 Pro interested me for the volume/music controls plus the Macros. I didn't even notice the side buttons, that can be programmed to open specific tasks, I like to snip things quit a bit, so I have the Snipping tool set on one of them which saves me from having to press "Windows + Shift + S" I haven't got too much into the Macros as of yet, mostly playing shooters at this time, but waiting for Diablo to release which maybe then I may invest some time to learn to set them up as I look to put some time in to that game. The Razer command dial has a few options to it, I've left it primarily on RGB brightness incase I ever want to make it dimmer, the keyboard comes preloaded with settings for the dial, pressing it changes between presaved functions, each having a different color.
The Keys themselves are super responsive, and give a good clicky feedback. The keys themselves aren't too loud to the press, but have a satisfying feedback to know you've pressed the key. They got a good balance, not too loud. The wrist rest is much more comfortable than my previous wrist rest on my previous Razer, but isn't at all plastic like others on the market. There is a very comfortable padding to the keyboard itself, and doesn't feel to get sticky with sweat over a gaming session thus far. The one thing the macro row taught me, is that I will use my pinky on the edge of the keys such as shift/CAPS to tell hand position on the keys. If I take my hands off the keyboard I found myself hitting the CAPS key quite a bit, initially, thinking I was hitting a letter key. I figured out what I have become accustom to, and have begun to adjust, not a flaw of the keyboard just something I noticed that I do which having the row of macros to the side threw me off.
The keyboard has two detachable USB-C Cables that plug in to USB-A Ports on your PC. You have a USB-A port next to these that you can use as USB extension, which I believe what the second cable is for.
Overall, I have been a fan of the Razer accessories I have, and this was a nice upgrade to my setup. My previous keyboard is still in great shape, and am currently working on a build for my boys to game, so that will go to them. Thus why I don't mind spending a little more on a keyboard with the extra functionality, because I know this will last for years!

Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is an extremely impressive keyboard that I happen to enjoy as a gamer and have been using for a while now. I really like tons of features that helped me out using it on the fly. There are 4 buttons on the left side of the Blackwidow that give you a Screenshot, Snipped, Xbox Guide, and Desktop switching button that is so intuitive to use on Windows and makes so much sense not really taking your hand off the keyboard.
The construction on the keyboard is super amazing. It feels solid, and not a key is wiggly at all. Each key you pressed feels really tactile giving really good feedback with each press. . My keyboard doesn’t flex and it definitely feels like you’re getting your moneys worth here. I really enjoy the key strokes here even using it to type this review it’s pretty great. Razer’s green mechanical switches feels really nice to type on and I do have to praise what they have done here.
Again, everything here is beautifully design. In my opinion you have a volume rocker at the top that allows you to adjust the volume within windows. The keyboard also have a dedicated macro keys. The black widow V4 comes with a USB-C pass through as well as the cables to get, you started as quickly as possible.
What’s even more impressive here to me is the RGB and what they’ve done to get the lighting to look as gorgeous as possible. I truly enjoy the under glow of the keyboard and the magnetic wrist rest. This feels extremely nice on the risk one typing it does connect magnetically to the keyboard. I personally never seen anything like this. I truly enjoy the under glow any lighting zones you can set up with this keyboard is amazing. You need to sign up for Razer’s Synapse to get the best feature’s possible from keyboard itself.
I just enjoy the keyboard to be honest. There are media buttons as well. It’s super nice to have something that feels this good, and you have a command dial on the keyboard which gives you 8 different commands as you turn it in windows:
Keyboard Brightness
Zoom
Switching apps
Track Jogging
Track Selector
Vertical scroll
Horizontal scroll
Switch browser tab.
The one I use the most, switch browsing tabs on the Internet very rapidly. This keyboard is one of the best I’ve used and comes with a two-year warranty from the company, so I have no issues trusting it especially due to its construction. It’s extremely clicky and tactile. I will use this keyboard for my current set up going for it. The under glow of RGB really gives it a nice tone and feel. I will be using the Blackwidow V4 from Razer from here on out.

As an avid gamer, I recently got the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro Full Size Wired Keyboard with Green Switch Gaming, and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with its overall look and feel.
First and foremost, the keyboard's mechanical green switches provide a tactile clicky responsive feel while gaming, which is key for fast paced FPS games. The major feature of this keyboard is that the keys are all programmable, allowing you to customize the keyboard to your liking and have a more personalized gaming experience.
The Chroma RGB lighting is another standout feature, which can be changed through the Razer Synapse software, where you can choose from millions of color options to make the keyboard a visually stunning addition to your gaming setup. The lighting can be synced with other Razer Chroma-enabled devices, adding to a more immersive gaming experience.
The keyboard is full size and is sturdy construction that provides a comfortable and durable platform for extended gaming sessions. The magnetic RGB wrist rest is also a huge selling point, while helping with reducing wrist fatigue and allowing for a more relaxed posture while gaming, while also syncing with the RGB on the keyboard is a great feature.
In terms of connectivity, the keyboard has a wired USB-C to USB-A connection, providing a stable and reliable connection, and the inclusion of USB passthrough that allows for easy access to other USB-C to USB-C or USB-A devices. Tip, make sure you plug the USB-C cord into the far right port or you won't be able to use the keyboard, if you plug it into the passthrough port.
The multimedia knob on the left of the keyboard allows you to control 4 different settings with the RGB brightness, Windows Zoom, Switch between applications, and Track jogging. While these are great, the synapse software does not allow you to change the Knob settings to your liking. Along with the Knob on the left side of the Keyboard are 3 programmable macro buttons that you can decide what they do to better your gaming experience.
Overall, the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro Full Size Wired Mechanical Green Switch Gaming Keyboard is an excellent gaming keyboard, packed with features that enhance the gaming experience. Its durable construction, tactile switches, customizable keys, and vibrant RGB lighting makes it a great pick for any gamer looking for a high-performance wired keyboard.

Razer has once again proven its prowess in the gaming world with the introduction of the BlackWidow V4 Pro. This keyboard is a testament to Razer's commitment to quality, with every button, knob, and feature exuding a sense of durability and precision. The initial experience of unboxing and setting up this keyboard is a delight, making the investment worthwhile.
Upon connecting the keyboard to your computer using one of the two provided USB-C cables, Windows promptly installs the necessary drivers and prompts you to install Razer’s Synapse 3 software. This software unlocks a world of customization, from RGB lighting adjustments to button mapping and macro programming. The software also offers game-specific RGB layouts, which automatically activate when you launch a game. For instance, launching Overwatch triggers a vibrant, game-reactive lighting layout that not only looks stunning but also provides valuable in-game information. The Q key, for example, flashes when your ultimate ability is ready, providing a visual cue that can give you an edge in the heat of battle.
The BlackWidow V4 Pro is a joy to use, with each key press delivering a satisfyingly crisp response. The default lighting reaction to each key press is akin to a visual narrative, providing information about the function of the scroll knob based on its color setting. The play, mute, and advance media buttons seamlessly integrate with the overall lighting layout, reverting back to it shortly after use. The keyboard also offers two sets of stands for a 6 or 9-degree incline, catering to your comfort preferences. The wrist pad, adorned with bottom surround LEDs, adds an extra layer of lighting immersion to your setup and is as comfortable as it is visually appealing.
However, the keyboard is not without its quirks. The side buttons, preprogrammed for tasks like switching desktop layouts or taking screenshots, can be accidentally pressed when moving the keyboard. This can lead to unintended commands being sent to your desktop. Despite this minor inconvenience, the side buttons add to the keyboard's functionality and can be a useful feature for those who can adapt to their placement.
In conclusion, the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is a remarkable piece of hardware that justifies its price tag with its robust build, extensive customization options, and immersive lighting effects. While the wrist pad's durability remains to be seen, the keyboard itself is built to last. This keyboard is highly recommended for those who prefer a full-sized keyboard, don't require wireless functionality, and have the necessary expansion slots for passthrough devices. The BlackWidow V4 Pro is not just a keyboard; it's a testament to Razer's commitment to enhancing the gaming experience.

Razer Does it Better, again!

The Razer Blackwidow Pro, Version 4, adds on to a what I would expect from a best-in-class gaming keyboard. Seriously, I didn’t think a gaming keyboard could get better in the ways that Razer has nailed it with this keyboard. I would suggest any gamer or creative take a serious look at this keyboard as the features demand consideration.
Pro:
• RBG and Customization.
• Build quality, this keyboard has the premium build down.
• Features: Keys, quick buttons, Command dial, removable USB C cables.
Cons:
• Loud when in use.
• The wrist guard looks pretty and feels good, but the material seems like it will peel with heavy use.
The RBG on this keyboard is a lot. The Keys and all around under glow, including the wrist guard, is out there. The fact that you can customize and adjust on the fly makes this any gamers dream. Razer synapse is rather simple to use. Synapse has plenty of functionality if you want to make it more customized, like custom light programs or syncing across devices. I still can’t get over the wrist guard lights though; it gives off an added flair that most keyboards miss out on.
Even with just out of the box functionality, you can tell that Razer went to great lengths to design this for gamers or creative users, all the default settings and Command buttons add to everyday productivity even though this keyboard mainly aims for the Gamer user. The Command Dial has so many options: Keyboard brightness, Zoom, App switching, Fast forward, Rewind, Next, Previous, Vertical Scroll, Horizontal Scroll, and even Browser Tab scroll. Usually, this can be a bit much for one multi-function button, but with the color light to denote which function it makes it quite easy to remember each function.
Quick buttons on the side are a nice touch, allowing a quick snip, pop up of the game tab or swapping between apps. The buttons are placed in such a way that that they are easy to access while being out of the way, so no accidental presses happen mid game. Additionally, the USB C plugged in cables for both power and USB A are a great touch. It allows transportation and storage to be easier, and in case the main cable hits a snag that causes damage, it can be replaced unlike the built-in cable style keyboards.
This model has the Razer Green mechanical switches, which are clicky and tactile, which comes out great for typing and gaming. The keycaps all hold well and are easy to type on. Worked out of the box without having to activate or setup the software. You can record Macro’s on the fly without needing the software using the function key (fn) and F9 to start and stop the recording of the key combination. Though some may find the software easier to manage the customizations.
Honestly, if you are looking for an amazing keyboard that will outlast a few PC builds and provide you with as much functionality as possible, this is the one! Not to mention the keyboard is a lightshow by itself and doesn’t just look nice but feels just as nice.

The Best Gaming Keyboard...

-Ergonomics-
The attachable wrist pad is very comfortable and magnetically attaches to the keyboard. The keyboard can be inclined with the two notches at the back. The green switches are clicky and have good tactile feedback. I've gamed on blue and brown switches, and these greens feel slightly less clicky than my blues. My hands felt a little less fatigue and pain due to the wrist pad.
-Performance and Features-
This is a full size keyboard with ultra low response time to help you get those clicks in faster than your opponents. In FPS games this is essential. Polling rate can be adjusted up to 8000hz! Never seen this high before, most gaming keyboards are sitting around 1000hz which means it updates its state or sends a new signal every millisecond. A high polling rate equals more keystrokes detected which is great for gaming. There are 5 macro keys on the left side of the keyboard and 3 hidden macro keys on the left. These are great for programming key combinations or frequently used keys used in specific games. There is a multimedia command knob in the top left that's great for jumping through default settings such as keyboard brightness, zoom, switching applications, and track jogging, but this can also be programmed through the Razer Synapse 3 software for other custom functions. There are also media buttons below the volume wheel that are good for movies and music. There are a host of other customizable features on the software where you really take advantage of customizing the keyboard to fit your gaming style. I love the volume wheel on the top right of the keyboard for a quick volume adjustment whether you're gaming, listening to music, or watching a video. This wheel can also be programmed for other functions. This keyboard is Full RGB so you can open up chroma studio and fully customize this keyboard down to each individual key. If you want to go with the preset lighting there are about 10 key combos you can shift through for the classic lighting scenarios such as static, breathing, ripple, wave, etc... If you need a quick macro assignment while gaming you can use the on the fly macro recording combo and assign it to any key.
-Conclusion-
This keyboard checks all the boxes: Full RGB, high performance mechanical switches, built in macro keys, wheels, command knobs and a very comfortable wrist pad to lessen the wrist and hand fatigue. The performance is legit. It feels good and keys snap back instantly. You will need space for a full size keyboard but there are a nice set of extra features that come with it. This is the complete package for gaming and media, and it looks great.

Totally Customizable, Fun, Worth the Price

This keyboard is simply amazing. There isn't literally anything that the keys can't be programmed to do. Each and every key's function can be changed to another key function, a mouse function, multimedia function or windows shortcut function. In addition, there are 8 dedicated macro keys and a Command Dial that by pressing scrolls through 8 different functions that it can be used for: Keyboard Brightness, Windows Zoom, Switch Applications, Track Jogging, Track Selector, Vertical Scrolling, Horizontal Scrolling, and Switch Browser tabs. There are also dedicated multimedia keys and a multimedia roller for volume.
After saying all that about the keys and functions, really the coolest feature of the keyboard is the customizable RGB lighting. The effects that can be created are infinite. The Razer Synapse 3 app is required to do any of the customization, whether lighting or keyboard function. There are ten preprogrammed lighting effects. Each can be customized, and they can be layered. For example, I started by using the wave effect that flows across the keyboard from one side to the other, I added static on top of that to make my WASD keys a solid color, then added Spectrum cycling so the keys were constantly changing colors. The colors can be customized for each effect. (See photos.)
The keys are Razer's own mechanical green switch keys that click when pressed. They take just the right pressure, they're sure and responsive. The keyboard frame is aluminum, not plastic, and an attachable leatherette wrist rest is included.
One feature that I'm scratching my head over is the pass-through ports. You can connect a device to the keyboard USB type A port, then connect the keyboard USB type C pass-through port to the computer. You're still taking up a USB type A port on your computer. The keyboard comes with 2 USB type A to C cables. It would have been better if they included a C to C cable to give a little versatility of port use.
Notwithstanding the above, which takes away nothing, this keyboard is fun, functional, terrific looking and worth the price even though it's a little on the expensive side.

This is the first Razer keyboard I have used and so far I am very impressed with it. The first thing I noticed before even taking it out of the box was just how heavy it was. Then when I actually got it out of the box I realized it was because the keyboard is just built different than most others. The housing appears to be all metal/aluminum and all the knobs are top quailty feeling liked solid aluminum pieces. They all respond quickly and smoothly and so far I havnen't noticed any sort of lag or delay when using for PC gaming.
The colors are also very nice and being able to adjust the patterns or brightness via the app but also chaning the brightness via the knob on the upper lefthand side is also nice. The buttons are remappable for whatever functions you want as with most keyboards. Right now I just left them defaulted for the ones above the keypad to mute or play whatever media I have open.
There are also buttons on the left side of the keyboard to access hotkey functions and by default seem to map to screenshot, windows game bar (for me is the xbox gamebar), and quick window access or the multi-desktop toggle. They are sensitive so I do sometimes hit them unintentionally but you can disable them. Overall the software to remap the colors is ok, unless you have all Razer products though it doesn't really see anything else like my PC which is an ASUS ROG with lighting but requires the Asus software to manage it and isn't seen in the Razer software that I have been able to figure out.
Overall I am love the feel of the keys on this keyboard and the mechancial clicking that it makes. If you aren't a fan of that then stay away from this keyboard. If you do appreciate it and have other Razer products then this will fit nicely into your Razer Ecosystem to coordinate the lighting effects.

When it comes to keyboard, comfort and customization is the name of the game. This keyboard certainly addresses those key areas of focus from my experience. Firstly, this keyboard is bright and lights up the room with the bright under-light of the keys. Its build is sturdy yet light weight which never seems to come hand in hand for keyboards. When it comes to the comfort of this keyboard it is very evident that thought was put into the experience of how the user uses the keyboard. One small yet significant upgrade to this model is the adjustable "kickstands" that are used to put the keyboard at a slight increase. They are located under the board on the corners. The design of these allow the user to have them fully extended or partially, allowing for max comfort to those who would otherwise not use them. Lastly, the bindable knobs that are located on the keyboard allow for additional customization, from a key binding standpoint. I enjoy my volume knox being mechanic, vs digital so I altered the bindings to do to.
All in all, this clicky keyboard fits all of my needs in terms of both comfort, design and responsiveness. I would highly recommend this to those in the market for a gaming keyboard.

I adore this keyboard! For starters, this keyboard comes with Razer’s green switches which are nice and clicky, but not too clicky. It’s also a full size keyboard which honestly can be kind of hard to find in white. The keys themselves are ever so slightly textured on the top, which is a nice feature. It comes with a wrist rest which is very comfortable when you’re on the computer for long hours. It also comes with a USB port on the back of the keyboard that you can use to charge or connect another device, if you so choose. The RGB lighting is a very nice touch and when used with Razer’s software can be totally customized to look however you’d like. Lastly, this keyboard comes with several addressable macro keys and even a couple buttons on the side of the keyboard that you can program to do just about anything you would like.

This is something different, with a completely detachable wrist rest with RGB and lovely tactile switches, it's a decent beast, but it has plenty of pros and cons.
Pros:
- Amazing wrist rest that's perfectly soft and plush for your hands with great ergonomic lift
- Extra USB port on the back which can provide that extra reach
- Amazing feeling buttons (for the most part) with plenty of tactility.
- RGB, of course if that's what your into.
-Smooth and consistent key presses.
Cons:
- Spacebar tends to bottom out a lot, causing it to sound hollow and unpleasant.
- Mounting system for the wrist rest is a little poor, with lack of grip on the rest itself causing it to slip off occasionally.
- Keys are tall, making it hard to see the media controls at the back
- The media controls themselves have labels that are incredibly hard to discern, making it difficult to know what you are pressing.
- The additional mappable macro keys move the normal keys to the side just enough to throw off your muscle memory if you are coming from an old standard keyboard
- The expandable USB port requires you to feed a separate cable from the computer, making it kind of pointless in the end.
-The box is rather bland, with the inside just being standard brown
Overall I would say that it is a great keyboard, but with the massive cons list it's definitely hard to recommend, especially at this price point. If you like the RGB and the tactile clicky switches provided by Razer, I would say it would be nice, but to wait until their is either a sale or a coupon available to bring that price down some. For anybody else however, I would say you should get something different, possible for a lot less since it cost's just so much.

Wow, the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is truly a phenomenal piece of equipment. The Razer Green switches offer an incredibly satisfying and clicky feedback, making every single keystroke feel precise and meaningful. I've had so much fun customizing the stunning Chroma RGB lighting, and the dedicated macro keys have completely streamlined my workflow and gaming. That plush magnetic wrist rest is an absolute game-changer, providing serious comfort for those marathon sessions. Honestly, this keyboard has completely elevated my entire setup and is worth every penny for the premium experience it delivers.
