Customers are saying
Customers recognize the Kishi controller's ease of use and generally positive build quality, frequently praising its convenient USB-C port and compact design. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with certain games and phones, noting that the fit wasn't ideal for all devices. While many found the controller responsive, some criticisms focused on the feel of the triggers and D-pad.

On the go gaming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've got about four controllers I use for my android devices, one rechargeable and the other two alkaline battery powered. While I like them better ergonomically I just forget too often to keep it recharged or have fresh AA's around. So here comes the Razer Kishi to the rescue. At first I thought the unit slid on rails to insert your phone in, but instead it uses an elastic band to stretch to fit your phone. Check the manufacture's site to find out if your phone fits before you buy it. Also you'll have to remove your phone from any case it might be in or it won't fit. I used three phones with it so far: Galaxy S10+, Moto Z Play, and Pixel XL. They don't list the Pixel XL as compatible but it worked fine with the controller. The Z Play was a no-go even though Pie was installed. There's a passthrough charging port which I love since that means I can game as long as I want. The layout is reminiscent of a switch, so if the switch is uncomfortable to you then the Kishi will be also. I find it usable but would have liked the grig to have a more ergonomic angle. I'd have also prefered the second analog stick to be higher. It's just a bit awkward on my right thumb with the way I hold it to have accurate aiming and movement. More use might cure that. I subscribe to Geforce Now, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and Shadow PC. I first tried with Geforce now but gave up because even after more than a year it's still has connection issues. Shadow was left out also because I recently did a wipe from storage upgrade and never bothered to set Steam back up on it. So Xbox Game Pass it was, which is probably more suited to the controller since it's the only native controller based gaming service - others are PC. I fired up Halo Master Chief Collection and gave it a quick go. The Kishi was recognized without any problems on the Galaxy S10 and Pixel XL. The controls were responsive and pretty impressive. And best of all I didn't have to worry about making sure I had the Kishi charged. I played for about 30 minutes and, as I mentioned early, found the right thumbstick awkward to use. I had to use my thumb knuckle to control it since the placement just felt off for me. More gaming must be done to fine my sweet spot for grip, or see if any first or third party grips come out for it. I didn't run any offline or native android games with it yet as I'm just too dang excited that I'm playing my Xbox games where ever I have a good connection. Portability of the Kishi is another big plus. It stores into a nice small shape that you can toss in a bag or in a pocket if your pants are loose enough. So, my opion: Great for portability without having to worry about power but you sacrifice some comfort.

Overpriced and under-supported
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So many comparable options are available for this (basically) exact same product at half to a quarter of the price. Not worth it imo. At least the other manufacturers offer button mapping software for games that don't offer controller support. Useless for a PUBG player like myself

Wanted to love it, but no software support
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited to pick this nifty controller up, but unfortunately, it has turned out to be a total dud. The product quality is actually quite nice. The product itself feels solid, fits nicely in my hands, and expands to fit your phone easily. Feels pretty secure once you've got your phone in it, too. HOWEVER, I tried this controller with 3 different games on my Galaxy S9 and it didn't work with any of them. Looking further into reviews on other sites, this is clearly a common problem with many folks reporting that the software support is really lacking for a wide variety of games. If you want to play Call of Duty or Fortnite, I bet this will be great for you, but if you like to try a lot of different games that aren't "AAA/mainstream" games, you're going to be SOL with this controller. Back to the store it goes!

Kishi Controller
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked well with my phone and didn't have issues getting it to work. All you do is download the Kishi app and play the games listed in it. Sadly the games I play on my phone weren't compatible with the product.

Great controller if you do mobile gaming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer Kishi is a great choice for anyone who does mobile gaming with an Android device. When not in use, it folds down for easy storage and transport. It opens up to accommodate even very large Android phones (I tested using a Pixel 2 XL and a Galaxy S20+), though if you use a case, you'll need to remove it most likely. In use, I'd say the feel is about like using a Switch with regards to width, depending on the size of your phone. The phone sits inside and connects via the USB-C connector. There is an additional USB-C port on the bottom of the controller for pass through charging--very nice. There really is nothing at all to the set up--everything I tested with recognized it without any difficulty. And because you're not wirelessly connected to your phone, there is no latency for the controller. I tested this with some native Android gaming apps, like GTA Vice City; Steam Link (various games streamed from my PC) and some Xbox streaming. Now of course your experience with this type of gaming might vary from phone to phone, and with the streaming games, be limited by your network and personal equipment. But I had a good experience gaming with this, and the controller was just great to use. I'd describe it as a cross between an Xbox controller and a Switch--the two sides are separated like the latter, but the button feel is like the former. That's not a bad thing in my book--it was great to play PC/console games on my phone and have the feel be pretty much the same. If you're into mobile gaming, or think you might be, especially with the wide options for game streaming services, this is a sure bet, if not essential. It brings a console quality controller to your phone with no lag, avoiding Bluetooth's limitations. I was unsure about how much I'd like this, but after I was able to play the Witcher 3 in full, fluid detail on my phone and have the controller experience to match, I was sold. Highly, highly recommend.
