Great Headset for the money
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Th Razer Kraken Tournament Edition headset is the best gaming headset I’ve ever used for $99. It’s pretty bulky but surprisingly light and has just enough clamping force to stay on and not hurt. Those massive ear cups have a good amount of padding and distribute the clamping pressure evenly across your head. The sound is very good, I didn’t expect much from a Razer headset but these blew me away. There’s a good amount of detail in each frequency, Razer Synapse also has a built-in EQ if you want to change things up. The THX surround sound works decent enough, positional sound is pretty accurate for the most part, though I did experience a couple bugs. This headset is really good especially for the price. The comfort is stellar and the THX surround sound works well.

Good for PC Gaming, Be Careful with Consoles
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the coolest-looking headphones on the market (let’s face it, they look like 2 tuna cans hanging off my ears, enough so that my kids laughed at me when they saw me wearing them), but makes up for it in a couple of features. Sound is outstanding. Loud when needed, great bass which is adjustable to your own preferences. The mic is crystal clear when using it for voice, but does have a bad tendency to pick up ambient noise since there are openings to the mic on both the front (toward your face) and back side. One of the games I play, an air traffic control game that relies on voice recognition, picks up ambient noise from the TV or other noise in the room and tends to mess up the voice recognition. The mic is retractable back into the left headphone, and is bendy to allow you to curve it toward your mouth when extended. Unfortunately, it only works on the left side & cannot be used on the right. Luckily, I prefer the mic on the left, but others I know use it on the right & might be turned off by the lack of ambidextrous capability. Now, for the connections, and this is where it goes sideways… The headphones have a standard 3.5mm headphone jack like you’d put into your phone. That plugs into a box that has buttons for up & down volume, mute, bass control, and THX control. That box has a USB to plug into your computer. The USB *only* works on PCs. You CANNOT use the USB to plug into game consoles like Xbox. You have to use the headphone jack to connect to the controller, which immediately eliminates the bass control & THX. You have to get some adapter to ultimately be able to use the THX feature with a console. As a PC gamer this makes no difference to me as I’m able to USB it to the computer. But, if you’re looking for these features to work with consoles, you may want to look elsewhere. The headband is well-padded and comfortable over long periods. I do find the headphones don’t seal as well as I would like them to around my ears, which allows in ambient noise a little more than I like. Add to it that I wear glasses & that further breaches the seals. In the end, if you’re a PC gamer you’ll enjoy these headphones. If you’re a console user, you might want to consider other options.

dongle problem
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i’ve found that any headset you have to plug into a dongle and then into your pc has the WORST audio quality. If you don’t need the mic and can just direct input using the 3.5mm jack then it’s perfect. But to sacrifice SOUND quality on a gaming headset so you can have to ability to speak is absolutely ridiculous to me.

THX doesn’t work!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These would be a solid pair of headphones if the THX sound card would work... the sound card uses the cheapest materials I’ve ever seen and the THX 7.1 button doesn’t do anything. Installed software that also constantly was crashing or wanting to use my monitor (of all things) to send the audio to. Get the hyper x cloud 2s! These need some work...

Music? More like Mud.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.IF you're looking for a gaming headset to also listen to music, don't bother with the Razer Kraken T.E. These are game-focused only. Though to be honest it literally sounds like I strapped a set of empty tin-cans to my ears, they're that bad for general audio consumption. Microphone is okay.

Returned after 2 days
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not get the surround sound to work on these after about an hour I realized I had to download additional software on top of the synapse. After downloading that it required an activation code that I could not find in the anywhere. Needless to say after another hour of trying technical support I returned them

Do not Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used Razer headsets in the past never had an issues with them. Quality was usually great and materials and feed good. This was not the case for this one. It felt cheap. Sound quality was terrible. Others would complain of static noise in my voice when i talked on discord. DO not recommend. I returned and bought a Corsair.

Dead on arrival, Mostly
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Charged them, connected to my phone with Bluetooth and wired to my Xbox controller. I could tell something wasn’t quite right when I first put them on but I thought maybe I needed to adjust. Then the right ear just gives out. And will not come back on. Very disappointed.

Best used with a PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So these are best used with PC gaming. You get the full feature set when using with a PC. They work fine for gaming but you some functionality. For instance the usb controls only work when plugged in with a PC. You will use the 3.5 mm connection for your gaming controller on Xbox for example. The fit is great. They are berybcinformtable even for long hours of use. Hardly knew I was wearing them. I really like the elretractable microphone. Friends on the other end said they could hear me just fine so no complaints there.

Box was opened
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tape seal on the box had already been cut, and the USB audio controller was missing from the box. I bought this new, and must have received a returned item, and the previous owner neglected to put the USB audio controller back in the box.

Surround Sound Code Already Redeemed
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset itself seems fine, however the activation code inside the brand new box was already redeemed. I've reached out to Best Buy across multiple platforms and nobody wants to help. Buy at your own risk.

Razer headphones are absolute garbage.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Razer headphones have the worst audio I've ever heard in any headset/headphones. The bass is overpowering and the sound is muddy. You can't hear any footsteps or minor sounds happening around you. Go with Corsair or Logitech.

Low Volume
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought as a gift. Even at full volume, failed to play in depth sound. After researching online, this seems to be a common issue. May not be for everyone but not worth the risk given the price point.

Mac incompatible
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.poor tech support from this allegedly 'quality' company. Kraken's are not supported in MacOS for their full potential of using Razer's recently purchased THX technology. Poor show Razer!

DO NOT BUY!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not even 6 months in and the mic stopped working. Lots of info on "fixing" this problem and all just as pointless as the last. This was a real let down product. Ill never buy Razer again.
