Razer Kraken V3 Pro HyperSense. 4/5
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to have an Astro A10 gen 2 wired headset but decided to upgrade to this because I already had some other Razer products. They are super comfortable and feel very well-built. The battery life is decent, and the haptics are really, really strong. My only complaint is that the battery doesn't last as long as they say it does, and it doesn't charge to full most of the time. But if you are fine with using them wired occasionally or you only play for a few hours a day, these are an excellent choice.

Another great Razer product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the original Kraken for a few years and have switched to another brand for the past year mostly to take advantage of a gaming DAC to fine tune my listening for movies, music and games. I had the chance to try out the new wireless Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense headset and there is a lot to like about these but a few things I don't like... I'll get to those in a bit. At the pricepoint you can easily justify adding these to your gaming arsenil. Here is what comes in the box: the Kraken V3 Hypersense wireless headset, a removable boom mic, a USB A to USB C charging cable, a 3.5mm audio cable and a wireless USB dongle. First of all this headset is extremely comfortable. The ear cups have a nice foam core with a very supple soft leather wrap. They are plenty big and deep for my Dumbo ears. This is an exaggeration of course but my ears to stick out enought to rule out several headsets and especially with on the ear variety. The band is metal with the padding that touches the top of your head the same material as the ear cups. Cushy!!! I can easily wear these for long durations of a couple of hours. I did have a slight issue with sweat after a long time of wearing them but you will get that with most over the ear headsets. After charging the headset with the included USB charging cable setup is easy. If you use it as a plain headset you don't have to do anything else for a PC however you will get a prompt to install Razer's Synapse software which will allow total control of the headset. You can enable/disable the lighting, the haptic intensity, adjust sound profiles including THX spatial audio, equalizer settings, bass boost, voice clarity... man, there is a lot. Again, if you like plain and simple just skip installing the software. Oh, an you must have a Razer Synapse account or create one... yet on of the other things that bugs me about hardware in general. If you are already rocking a Razer Blackwidow and Deathadder (or any Razer combo), then the memory real estate might not be an issue since you will most likely already be using Synapse. I guess the new fad is to bling everything with RGB lighting. The Kraken V3 Hypersense headset is no different. There is LED lighting illuminating the outer ring of ear cups on the headset. Yeah, if you are into that sorta thing. Which I am but headset lighting when I can't see it kinda missing the point for me. I'm not sure how much the battery life suffers with the lights on but I'm sure it does shorten the battery life at least some but that might not really be a big issue. I mean who is going to wear these 8 hours straight? The controls are easy to reach with the left cup having power switch, volume knob, mic mute button, optional 2.5mm audio jack and a USB C port for charging. On the right cup there is only one button and that's to adjust the Hypersense levels where by pushing you scroll through different levels of haptic feedback (vibration of the ear cup synced with game play settings). What I like - price is comparable to other good gaming headsets. - comfort - sound quality is amazing and THX spatial gives you a very immersive surround sound effect. What I don't care for: - removable boom mic (I prefer the boom mics that swivel up mute and get out of the wayO - having to find the mute button - not a fan of Synapse as it seems each piece of hardware has it's own app - why not Bluetooth???? - you have to have a Razer account to use Synapse. I hate logging into everything!! On the fence - - Hypersense haptic levels. It takes some getting use to. You can just set and forget as some games may have haptic feedback and others not. You'll have to play with it. Heck, I was toggling with the button during game play depending on what's going on... sometimes I thought the headset was going to shake off my head... okay, another exaggeration but you get the point. I have yet to try these with my consoles but that is the next thing on the list. I need to fire up Madden 22 on my PS5 and test out these bad boys!!!

Very comfortable fit and adjustable sound quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these; plain and simple. I wear 2xL hats and the headphones adjust to fit me comfortably and sound great. Super comfortable, excellent sound, although you may have to tweak the range a bit with your software. wireless dongle use was easy, set up, etc. was a breeze. Instructions were clear, packaging was excellent and I will retain the box for travel. It would have been nice to get a 'pleather' bag as part of the package, but fine without it. In game sound was excellent - felt very surrounding/immersive. The bass was heavy for some shooters, but could adjust for that via PC and in game settings. no appreciable lag, voices were clear in chat. Music only usage was quite good for wireless capable set. I also used the set wired and was very satisfied. All in all, a very good quality, comfortable adaptable headset with pretty quick charging. Very pleased. This is my third set of Razer headphones that I have owned through the years and I'd have to say theyt have ll lived up to the hype and my expectations.

Overall Good Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer Kraken V3 Pro Wireless Headset has many pros and cons when it comes to daily use. For starters, it has amazing haptic feedback while gaming that allows the user to hear and sense where footsteps and minimal sounds are coming from, giving the player a heightened spatial awareness while playing highly intensive games. The headset also comes with speakers that deliver a crisp and loud listening experience for casual or competitve use. While listening to songs or playing immersive gaming experiences, there is no distortion or delay between what you see and what you hear, allowing for hours of use at a time. The battery life is also an improvemewnt over other wireless devices, lasting over a day with constant use when not using the haptic feedback or lighting modes of the headset. Turning on these features only slightly decreases how long the headset will remain functional, and overall it is a great listening experience for everyone. It also comes with the Razor synapse software, allowing for instant customization for the headset's colors, equalizer, and mic equalizer. Although it has many pros, the gaming headset also has a few cons to note. The earmuffs are circular and are less comfortable than earmuffs that are shaped in an oval that wrap around the ear, rather than lay on top of it. A second major issue, that may be the biggest downside to this headset overall, is the microphone quality. Compared to other headsets, the microphone quality is drastically worse. It sounds like a budget microphone rather than a top of the line peripheral, and compared to 3rd-party microphones, it struggles to meet the standard for most gamers. Overall, this headset is worth it for those who have a stand alone microphone and are fine with circular ear muffs. Aside from this, it is definitely a product I would recommend to anyone going into the pc gaming scene.

Razer back at it again
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently Razer has released some quality gaming products and the Kraken V3 Pro Hypersense can easily be added to the list. In the box you will find the headphones and the included USB C charging cable. Once you are done charging the headphones for a few hours you can proceed to connect them to your desired gaming device. The wireless connection is done via a 2.4 GHz connection so it is more reliable than Bluetooth however I do wish they included Bluetooth as an option so that you could use these with phones and tablets as well. The sound quality is amazing compared to my previous wired gaming headset and this can be attributed to the 50mm titanium drivers. The THX spatial audio can't truly be compared to a traditional 7.1 surround sound setup however it surprisingly comes fairly close. I also thought the haptic sound was a gimmick however strangely adds a new dimension to gaming headsets. The microphone is detachable so you can take it off if you don't need it and it does do a decent job at suppressing background noise. The wireless headphones are extremely comfortable due to their graciously sized ear cups that have memory foam in them. These headphones are fairly bulky however they are very comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. The RGB lighting is more of a gimmicky item if you ask me however it seems to fit the parameters of most gaming devices these days. Lets just say it would not have taken anything away from your overall experience it Razer left it off. Stated battery life is 11 hrs but this will slightly vary from user to user. A quick side note is that these unfortunately cannot be used wireless with an XBOX. Overall the Razer Kraken V3 is a great wireless headset that won't disappoint if you are in the market for a gaming headset.

Audio is great, mic not so much.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good gaming headset. This headset is comfortable. I've worn them for hours without discomfort. The earcups fit great around my ears, the memory foam is soft and they keep outside sounds down to a minimum. The headband is adjustable and soft. The weight of the headset is not heavy so they don't drop down and cause discomfort over time while playing. Setup and connection is quick and easy. Everything you need is included. To enable spatial audio there is software to download. It was a quick download, easy to use. Controls are easy to access on the sides. The hypersense button is on it's own side so guessing which one it is. The hypersense has 3 sensitivity levels for vibrations. The highest setting is intense. Coupled with the spatial audio which gives 360° positional audio and you are IN the game. My favorite game is a zombie game and these added a new sense of thrill to the game. The RGB lighting is beautiful of course and if you can sync it to other compatible devices you own with the software. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is the microphone. The microphone is disappointing. It is clear, but friends mistook speaking through it for speaking on the phone. It works to communicate, but it's nothing to brag on. I would give these a 4.5 star if that were an option. I would still recommend these for the great audio and hypersense vibrations putting you IN the game and the comfort even after hours of playing.

Good headphones with a unique feature
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer - Kraken V3 Pro HyperSense Wireless 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset for PC and Mac headphones offer all of the common features that qualify them as” GAMING” headphones as well as their Haptic drivers that can make explosions a head shaking experience. Thankfully that effect can be shut off if it gets to be too much. FEATURES: • 10-Band Graphic EQ. Presets are adjustable with included software. • Haptic drivers in each earcup augment low frequency sounds with physical vibrations to amplify in-game explosions etc. • Memory foam in earcups and head-bands enhance long term comfort. • The Razor “HyperClear Cardioid Mic gives great voice isolation as well as clarity. It focuses its pickup on your mouth directly on front of it. It reduces input from your keyboard and the surrounding room. This is very important when communicating with your fellow team members during game play. PROS: • A well-built headphone with comfortable fit • The THX “Spatial Audio” gives a good Surround Sound effect. • The microphone produces clear audio. CONS: • Does not work wirelessly with Xbox consoles CONCLUSION: A good choice for PC gamers.

Could use less flare and more function
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve reviewed several dozen gaming headsets over the years and one common thing I’ve noticed is the migration towards gimmicky lights and features designed to attract 13-year-old boys. Yes, that is a demographic a gaming accessory company has to account for, but it wastes dollars on features that offer no performance gains and would be better suited to be used on functional components. Alas, Razer leads the category on that sizzle over substance by applying lights to everything they sell. Now that does not mean they do not have good quality items, they certainly do. It just means some of their products could be that much better. So, let’s delve into how the Razer - Kraken V3 Pro HyperSense Wireless Headset fits into the myriad of headsets on the market and how it holds up. Comfort and fit– I do not usually start off a review with comfort and fit but I felt Razer really nailed with the Kraken V3. Soft and supple leatherette on the ear cups and head band make this a teat to wear. It is a bit heavier than some of it’s rivals that use more plastic, but the weight is well balanced enough that you do not notice it. The ear cups fit perfectly and make a tight seal. Adjustments are easy and precise. Every measure of the headset fit me perfectly. Top marks. Construction – As with most Razer products, the Kraken V3 is built very well. It is mostly metal with a high level of fit and finish. You can tell Razer does pay attention to the little things – sizing indicators etched in to the metal band, metal grills on the ears pieces, branded cords – all top notch. Battery life – The official battery life is 44 hours without the lights and haptic feedback ( more on that later.) If you have all lights on, high volume and max haptic feedback, it is supposed to only get 11 hours. For heavy use for 5 days, I did not make dent in the battery life. You should have no issues. Sound output – The sound quality had mixed results. Overall, with some software tuning, it does sound good. Not as good as some more expensive headsets but it is rich and detailed. Bass is slightly muted, but the mid-range and treble is near perfect – exactly as I prefer it. I also used the headset for a lot of music, there is a very noticeable difference when you adjust the audio equalizer for music and turn up the voice clarity settings. That will vary by the song but it very significant. Sound input (mic) – This is where Kraken V3 falls short. The mic sound is washed out to not what I expected. No matter what changes I made, it just did not sound any better than that an inexpensive headset. The Kraken V3 does list the mic as noise cancelling and that can sometimes wash out vocals, but I did not find the noise cancelling to be that good. I did notice latency in the mic when speaking. You would never know it until you tried to sing along with a song. It is not horrible, but it is there. Software – The Razer Synapse software allows you to control every facet of the sound and lighting in one convenient app. It is very good, when it works. First, it crashes and freezes up. This has been an ongoing issue with other Razor products I have had over the years. Other minor annoyances is it gets stuck on the sign on screen and resetting my password seems to never generate an email. Razer get an “A” for features in the software but a “C” for reliability. Connectivity – I connected to a my PC, PS5 and my Xbox with no issues. This is a not certified “to work Xbox” licensed product so you have to pair with the included 3.5 mm wire to the controller but I do not mind that. Other than the Xbox, you can use the included USB dongle. You do lose the control features of the software when you connect via the 3.5 mm. Unique haptic feedback – The Kraken V3 has a unique feature of vibrating to sound. It has 3 settings – low , medium and high. The idea is you can feel certain sounds as they happen. I just could not stand it - very annoying and distracting from game play. It seems like a gimmick and totally unnecessary. Some may like it for extra immersive experience but I really hated it. In conclusion, this is a fine headset that is marred by a subpar mic and gimmicks. Light and haptic rumbling might sell, but it is fluff in the end. Ask yourself, have you ever seen pro gamers on television ever have LED lights blazing up the headsets ? Or do you see relatively non-descript head sets that are high on form and function rather than flare? I would rather have the high quality rather than some lights that I am not going to see when I am wearing a headset. If you are in the same camp as me, you would be probably better suited with some of the other Razer headsets. If lights and haptic rumbling are your thing, the Razer - Kraken V3 Pro HyperSense Wireless Headset is a strong performer.

A quality headset for PC gaming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has been my experience that gaming headsets have never been great in all areas of use. Some are uncomfortable to wear after a while, or the mic picks up too much background noise, or the audio is just kind of fine for gaming but not great for music. The Kraken V3 Pro suffers from none of the compromises that other headsets make. The audio is very clean, even well enough to listen to music with for those with discriminate ears with precise details. The Kraken V3 Pro wireless installs fairly easy with Razer's Synapse software and gives you controls for lighting, virtual 7.1 surround and some other settings. I experienced no degraded audio quality while using these on my gaming PC. I found the analog volume control to be helpful in quickly adjusting the volume. The power button and mic mute toggle are also nearby on the left side of the headset. Now for the unusual. This headset has haptics. Not in the sense on needing special game support to use it but it still works. I'll try to briefly explain. With the headset powered on, you have a choice of 3 levels of haptics or turn it off using the lone button on the right side of the headset. The basics are this, haptics work on this headset by pulling the much lower frequencies and giving that to the haptics to handle. It comes across and deep thunderous satisfying bass, that isn't exactly bass. I must admit that wearing them and using haptics is a unique experience and is not at all gimmicky on the Razer Kraken V3 Pro Wireless. It's a different level of enjoyment in gaming and otherwise I enjoyed using these while PC gaming and am always impressed by Razer's virtual 7.1 surround sound and it's ability to pinpoint directional sound quickly. It's not lost on the sound clarity of the headset. Whether you game, listen to music, watch movies or whatever else you'd want to use them for, you won't be disappointed. Yet again Razer exceeds my expectations for wireless (occasionally wired) audio and are a joy to use.

AWESOMENESS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned the razer nari ultimate to pock these up. The nari ultimate was a great set but lacked 2 things for me that yhe v3 pro gave me, battery life and adjustable haptic feedback i could do without attaching them to a computer. As stated in a previous review, they are wireless but if you want to ise for xbox you need the chord. Having the wireless dongle fit into the headset is a plus. I lost the one that came with my sony pulse 3d rendering that headset useless. If not for the haptic feedback id probably be rocking the astro q50 or arctis 7+ ( i like the 7+ over the 7p+ due to the chat/game volume mix option) So far this is my headset choice of the year. It just makes you feel so immersed in action games, shooters, story mode games and does great with 2k22 with the haptic off. This headset has me satisfied with a headset for the first time. If you dont need haptic feedback id recommend the turtle beach 700 gen 2, rig800 pro and those i previouslt mentioned. I hope this helped.

The software is a drawback, but all around great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great all around. The razer synapse software that is needed to get these to work to their full potential deducts one star. The problems with the software syncing the the headset is resolved by turning off the auto-turnoff function the the software, however. I don't like the haptic feedback for gaming, but the haptic feedback for listening to music is an amazing experience. It emulates that feeling that I get from listening to music with a subwoofer.

A must have for any Gamer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The kraken v3 Pro headset is nothing short of amazing in my opinion. They were tested only on PC. These headphones did not disappoint. Great price for the quality level and the Razer name. Amazing construction. Heavy but sturdy. I feel like they will last a long time. Great for long gaming seasons. Ear cups are made of nice, cushy material and didn’t crush my ears at all. Same for the headband material. Very, very comfortable. The haptic feedback is a bit much in some games at its highest setting. Sounded like my brain was being stepped on at some points. I found that keeping it at its lowest setting for gaming and its highest setting for music was my comfort zone. Very nice and easy to find right side button to control this. Detachable microphone is a nice feature but seemed cheap. I don’t use headset mics anyway so being able to detach and leave it in the box is a great feature. The plug and play dongle made setup very simple. To get the most out of these headphones, downloading Synapse 3 and the THX spatial software is a must. The programs give you so much control.
