Customers are saying

Customers find value in the Wolverine V2 Chroma Pro Gaming Controller's robust build quality, comfortable feel, and satisfying mechanical buttons. The controller's customizable RGB lighting and responsive controls are also appreciated. However, some customers are disappointed by the lack of wireless connectivity and find the size a bit large, especially considering the price point for a wired controller.

Like most I was hesitant with the corded versus wireless, but it is something to easily overlook. This is an excellent controller. Response times are quick and nimble and no worries about losing the grip. The fact it illuminates is definitely a cool feature also. As I mentioned no delay or drag when using this controller. Don't let the hardwire deter you from purchasing. This one is a winner!

    Good hand feel. Weird buttons?

I can't fully decide if I like or don't like this controller or not. It feels good in my hand. It has a bunch of extra buttons with 3 paddles or bumper buttons on each side. Different thumbstick caps. It has a lot going for it and it definitely should for the price of this thing. I like it. I think the buttons are just too different for me right now. Setup is easy. As you'd expect. If you want to customize the extra buttons, you need to use the Razer app on your PC which is fine for me but if you don't own a PC, you might be out of luck on that front. Overall, the controller "just works" but is also very customizable with the extra paddles/bumpers and the extra thumb sticks. Some decisions that were made are pretty weird to me in general. The extra thumbsticks don't allow you to replace both of your thumbsticks with the same one. The controller comes with 2, normal, low profile indented with a cross on top thumbsticks. Then it comes with a single tall thumbstick with the same sculpt of the original and then another rounded top short thumbstick. Just one of each. So you can't have the same thumbstick on both sides with the replacements. So weird to me. The first thing I noticed (and you will too) is the button presses. Pretty much across the board. Pressing any button sounds a bit like clicking a mouse. It doesn't FEEL bad, it just feels and sounds weird and different. I don't think I dislike it but it throws me off when I use this controller vs other controllers. I'm sure it's something I can and will get used to pretty easily but it's worth mentioning. The advertised "mecha-tactile action buttons and d-pad" is definitely something that will be weird if you haven't felt or heard it before. Other than those things, this controller feels good in my hands. It works well. It's highly customizable (with a slight caveat). It lights up because everyone needs more RGB these days (/sarcasm). I like the controller. I'm not sure it's worth the pricetag but time will tell if it lasts longer than the official microsoft pro contrtoller.

Well Thought Out Gaming Controller, Many Options

This controller works with current Xbox Consoles and Windows PCs. The App is the same for both platforms available through the Microsoft Store. It allows a lot of control over the Chroma lighting on the controller. The app allows customization of the extra triggers and buttons, allowing customization of the controls outside of a game's own button customization options. The dedicated Audio config button, below the SHARE button, allows on the fly mixing of the levels of both in game volume and chat volumes, individually. I like the feel of the controller, the thing that took the most to get use to was the position of the menu buttons to the left and right of the home button. I love the hair trigger slider for both main trigger buttons, helps with some control schemes in games. I was initially skeptical that the magnetic thumbstick hats would be secure enough, but they have never accidentally came off. The ability to switch to a taller hat on one thumbstick is nice, that and being able to switch one thumbstick between concave and convex on a controller is nice. I keep the nice box the controller came in, partially to keep the not in use Hats in a safe place. The main X, Y, B, A button press feeling is different from standard xbox controllers, has a bit more resistance and a click, with a more solid feeling. The D-pad is more precise and clicky than a standard controller, also with a tiny bit more resistance, not as much as the difference in the X, Y, B, A buttons, but noticeable. The controller is of course corded only with no batteries or wireless ability. The cord is of a good length and is USB C on the controller and USB A on the other end. All in All, this is a very nice configureable controller with very nice lighting option to match up with the rest of your LED light setup on Xbox and PC. I would recommend whole heartedly.

Nice quality controller. 6 buttons is a real big help for competitive gaming. The back paddles are in a awkward spot put can be adjusted to. So far so good. Razer App on Xbox helps be switch between 4 profiles quickly in between games.

I’ve been using the Razer - Wolverine V2 Chroma Pro Gaming Controller for over a week now and I find myself asking the same questions? Does the “ Razer™ Mecha-Tactile Action Buttons and D-Pad empower your every move with cutting-edge precision and crisp tactile feedback for a competitive edge? ” Does the “3-million tap life cycle for greater durability” make difference when Razer gives you the same warranty as everyone else? Is there truly any measurable benefit that justifies 2.5 times the price of standard controller? The answer is a resounding no. I noticed zero difference in gameplay and found myself being annoyed that the control is not wireless. That is right, it’s not wireless like a standard controller. Razer does not exactly emphasize that point. I really could not care less that the controller lights up during the different games nor do the additional customized buttons make any difference. I know - a pretty brutal review so far. The Razer - Wolverine V2 does function competently and is fine as a controller. But there is so little benefit to switching over to this controller for 2.5 times the price of a standard controller that I cannot possibly recommend it. If you are looking for a high end controller ( which you do not really need for great game play,) look to the X-Box Elite controller . Sorry Razer but what is the point of this controller?

Power A one pro was better. Have used Power A controller for years loved the original controller. The left trigger broke out of no where on me. When I opened the controller it is made out of plastic that wore down and broke. I had a cheap $30 Power A controller was going to replace the parts with but they were made different then the left back button broke. So I purchased a new Pro 2 the controller is nice very similar to the original with the mute mic button. But the PADDLES ARE THE WORST the paddles in the back stick out and you tap them constantly I have no idea who thought this was a good idea but they should be fired. The old paddles would have worked but I threw them out with the broke controller. I wrote Fusion who said they are all out of stock but will send me some that was three months ago so pretty sure these are not coming and I have this remote which I hate because of the design of the back paddles. By this and you will see what I am talking about.

    Dead on Arrival

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When researching controllers for PC I stumbled upon the Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma as an alternative to the Elite Series 2 from Microsoft. After reading poor reviews of PC integration with the Elite Series 2, I opted for the Razer. Unfortunately, my Razer was dead on arrival. I opened my new controller to discover 2 of the "Mecha" switches on the ABXY buttons did not actually click as they should. They were mushy, like stock Xbox controllers, while the D-Pad had the proper click. Since it was more disappointing to open a new purchase and it arrive broken before use, I exchanged for the Elite Series 2 as a replacement and risked the PC issues others were having. Happy to say the Elite Series 2 has performed flawlessly. For $150, I'd like to see better quality control, Impulse Triggers, better build quality ("cheap" feeling plastic), a case, and wireless connectivity. $30 more from Microsoft gets you wired or wireless use, a rechargeable battery, wireless charging, and a case to carry all your parts that doubles as a charge system if you prefer to keep it cased when charging.

    I bought a defective unit.

I got this controller a couple of days ago as a gift. I followed the instructions to use the app for setup. Once I plugged in the controller to my Xbox I noticed the Left stick was doing all the functions. The right stick did not work and was unresponsive. I was prompted to do a Firmware Update. While doing the update the controller got very hot and lost power. I attempted to plug it into several other USB ports in various computers and got NO POWER. I reached out to Razer Customer Service and they were unable to assist. They recommended I return it for an exchange or refund. The local store where it was purchased claimed not to have any in stock so I took the refund. Tried researching the issue but saw no posts about it. I must have gotten a defective unit. I was unable to try it for a fair review. I'm trying to source another unit as they are no in stock in our area.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Worst controller I have ever owned. Used for Rocket League and Dragonball Fighterz. Terrible for both. Joysticks too tense, calibration is awful, button depth is too short, triggers are hooked uncomfortably, extra buttons are in terrible spots. Why not make them paddles instead? The extra buttons near the triggers are uncomfortable to reach for if you want them, and bothersome if you don't. I HATE this product. I would sooner use a Dualshock than this garbage.
