Didn't even last 3 weeks
|Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a replacement for the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra. It felt nice in hand, it's a little weighty, and the buttons are in a solid position. However, less than 3 weeks in, the controller stopped working completely. In either xbox or pc, it was no longer responsive with the dongle. The APP UI is awful, it has very little features. The controller logo flashes through the RGB and there is no way to turn it off.

The best controller I’ve ever owned
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s pricey, but well worth it. Probably one of the best accessories I’ve bought for my Xbox.

It was ok.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up returning it to get the Xbox elite controller. I didn’t like the Razer software at all and really didn’t feel like the higher pulling rate even mattered. So I went back to old faithful. Can’t beat the Xbox elite controller in my opinion.

Expensive cheeseburger.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good controller, it is bigger than an Xbox controller. Feels like holding a cheeseburger, but customer support from Razer itself sucks. You cannot buy extra thumbsticks or even get an update done on it easily. When you do try to call them its a process to even get a number and when you do talk to someone, it goes no where. I will buy a scuff next time.

Broke after a month
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it February 21st, woke up April 5th and it won't connect to my Xbox wired or wirelessly. After troubleshooting and contacting support I'm not being told I have two wait up to 2 weeks for the replacement process. I wouldn't even bother with this, get an 8Bitdo or something else.

My new gaming laptop controller
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing was simple enough. Like most of the higher end controllers, it comes in that standard shaped case with netting on the top of the lid for the USB cable, spots on the lower front for the receiver and the extra sticks, and the controller itself nestled in the center of the bottom. Build quality is good. It feels solid without feeling too heavy. The upper section where you grip is a smooth texture, underneath where your fingers curl is a slightly rougher diamond pattern to help grip. It's a secure grip without being uncomfortable. Sticks come off but it's different than others I've had. This has a ball bearing inside that acts as a detent, rather than simply being magnetic. Personally I prefer the magnetic. This is a bit more force to remove and put back than I usually feel comfortable applying. But it's secure, I'll give them that. I really like the buttons underneath, they fit RIGHT where my fingertips curl underneath. I've used many different controllers with the added buttons underneath, I really love them for games like Destiny, Halo, or Horizon so it's easy to do things without pressing down on sticks (which can impact your movement and aim) or hitting more awkward combinations. Some have had the buttons that worked better than others. This one seems about as good as any that I have liked. This isn't my first Razor, nor my first Wolverine, but I don't have any of them so there was clearly SOMETHING that I didn't like about them compared to the ones I've kept and actually have used. So this already is a step above their previous iterations. Some of the other brands I've not kept due to flakey software, stick drift that happened within a week of use, or other things. Some were just a nightmare to program. The worst one was one that had software for both the computer and Xbox, and it juts didn't WORK and I was never able to use it to program things right. Other ones lack the ability to map things like the view button or menu button. This one initially lacked software that I was able to find for the Windows 11 gaming laptop I have, a new Asus ROG Strix. Nowhere in the instructions does it specify anything other than "Download and install the Razer controller app to your Xbox Series X or PC to customize your controller and unleash its full potential." NO link to download. And on their site I can't find anything for it under software / drivers other than a firmware update. I DID run the firmware update, and it completed just fine. About two or three weeks after I had it, I saw something mentioned in a forum about a windows store app. So I got it, but I'm actually unable to get it to RECOGNIZE the controller... But I'm not worried about the software since for me the big thing for the software is how to map the buttons. But this controller was done the right way - no software needed if you would rather do it manually. Press the programming button, press the button you want to program, then press the button you want the programmed button to map. Easy peasy. And it's nice since this allows you to do things on the fly without having to stop the game to get into some controller software. I'm sure I'll eventually find whatever software should go with this and see what other things it allows tweaking for. At the moment I'm OK just as it is, as I'm not a pro gamer and not doing competitions. Sticks feel tight, responsive. Wireless has been working well, I have no detectable lag between input and action on the screen. I wish there was the option to swap out different D-Pad styles like the Elite controllers from MS have, since some games work better with one style than the other. But I can live with it if everything else stays consistent as it has so far. Button presses are a bit softer than I'm used to but you can still feel the positive engagement at the bottom of the travel. And I applaud the lack of garish LED lights everywhere. The one thing I wish it had was something like the Turtle Beach controller it has already replaced, and a stand that charges, rather than having to plug it into a USB C cable to do so. That just makes things easier and cleaner on my gaming desk next to my laptop. But again, for the ease of use of this one over that Turtle Beach one, I'll put up with having to plug in a cable. And so far with days of gaming, no need to charge yet. Of course, without software I have no way to know the actual charge level, other than apparently the logo will change color. But that's not a granular enough metric for me. So I've just been plugging it in every two or three days of gaming and playing with it wired instead of wireless once in a while. Overall, I like this one. I have the Elite II for my Xbox Series X, but I rarely use the Xbox or even my PS 5 anymore since I've began migrating my gaming to a PC platform where possible for the last year or so. Which means this controller is going to be dedicated to the gaming laptop where I spend all my gaming time lately and the Elite II will stay with the Xbox Series X. If you like the buttons underneath, and the ability to quickly change them on the fly, this is an excellent controller.
