A decent controller, but with shortcomings
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It seems Razer did not want to stray too far from the tried-and-true Xbox controller. It's basically the same form as the official Xbox controller but with extra buttons. It does come with a nice case and USB cable, and two different joystick caps. The extra shoulder buttons are a bit of reach, particularly if you don't have large hands or long fingers. The paddle buttons on the grips are nice additions and are in ergonomic positions without being too easy to accidentally press. The face buttons I would classify as average. They feel a little too squishy and more travel that I prefer on a premium controller. That's not to say they're bad, I just would've liked them to feel a bit tighter. The D-Pad is rather nice though, and with a nice rocking, clicking action, is one of the highlights of this controller. For the joysticks, they're nice and springy with good responsiveness and accuracy. However in one particularly intense gaming moment, while pushing up on the right joystick, I accidentally pushed the cap off. That was annoying. So now I'm afraid of accidentally popping off the joystick caps. The controller has two mode, Xbox mode, and Windows mode. Xbox mode you need to use to use it on Xbox, and in windows will make it appear as an Xbox controller. In this mode you can also use the Razer controller app. Unfortunately, this app only allows you to map the extra buttons to one of the core Xbox buttons. You cannot program them with macros or button combinations. This feels severely limiting, but perhaps required for Xbox compatibility. That limitation could be overlooked if such things were possible in Windows mode, but the Razer controller app doesn't even support the controller in Windows mode, so you're left with finding 3rd party apps that will recognize the controller and the extra buttons and allow you to program them as you wish. The other shortcoming I experienced was the range, or connection quality. Sitting across the living room like I do with all my games and other controllers, this one would repeatedly lose connection. I don't know if this is something a firmware update can fix or not, but I hope it can.

Great for big hands!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve used the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller for a little over a year now, and as good as it, it does have some quirks that had me looking for alternatives. And honestly, the Wolverine V3 Pro has been the best Elite Series 2 alternative I’ve used. The controller for starters feels a little bigger, which I appreciate because I have big hands. The ES2 felt about the same in size as a standard Xbox controller, which I always thought was just slightly too small for me. A few differences between this and the Elite Series 2: - The V3 only has two options for the adjustable hair trigger locks (full or mouse-click), while the ES2 has 3 (full, half, tap). - The paddles on the back of the V3 aren’t removable while the ones on the ES2 are. - The V3 features Hull Effect joysticks so you won’t get any stick drift. - You can’t charge the V3 through the case like you can with the elite controller, but also, I can’t say I’ve used that feature all that often. Both controllers offer you the ability to map the paddles and extra buttons with an app. The biggest factor in why I’m making this my new daily driver is that I love the low latency USB dongle. Why? Because I can unplug this controller and use it on my Alienware laptop, my Xbox Series X, or on my loft’s Xbox Series S, all without having to re-pair a controller each time I want to use it on another machine. It’s such an under-rated feature that I didn’t even know I wanted until I had this thing. Other general things I like about the controller are: - The adjustable tension joysticks. - The case is nice and sturdy and the included extra thumb sticks are nice. - The RGB Razor logo is nice, I set mine to a cool blue. I highly recommend this controller to anyone looking for a high-end wireless controller.

Almost Perfect!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a bunch of different controllers for the Xbox and PC. Some wired, some wireless. I have never owned the Razer Wolverine series before. This is due to it previously only being a wired controller, however, now that this new version is wireless, I am thrilled. It has a very simple look with the black finish and RAZER led logo in the middle. The configuration is just as it would be on an Xbox controller for the standard buttons, d-pad and joysticks. The extra buttons, such as the two additional bumpers and the four on the back of the controller are placed perfectly. My hands fit this controller well and it is comfortable, even after hours of gaming. I use it exclusively with my Xbox Series X and I love it. The app to configure and customize the buttons and such is very easy to use and, once applied, works instantly. The battery life is very good. I have played several games for days in a row and have only had to charge it once, aside from when first using it. The one thing that I don't like is the dongle. I wish it had the ability to connect directly to my Xbox or be used with the dongle. It's not a deal breaker but it's just something I don't personally like. The only real issue I have with this controller is that, if not used for a day or two, I have to unplug the dongle from my Xbox and then plug it back in for it to power up. Not a huge deal but definitely annoying. Overall, aside from my one issue, it is a great controller and I love using it every time I game.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer Wolverine V3 Pro controller feels great in the hands. It has a good grip on the back so it stays in the hands. The design is just like the factory controller. The buttons have crisp actuation. I like that you have the option for shorter trigger pull for shooting games and longer trigger pulls for racing games. The ultra-low-latency 2.4 GHz is good but I don't like that you have to eat up a USB slot to achieve it. The 8-way floating d-pad feels good. Every button has satisfying clicks. The haptic response is very good and adjustable. I like the carrying case to keep it protected but I have no plans on actually traveling with this. The triggers and thumbsticks worked and felt great playing Froza Horizon 5 on Xbox Series X. I also loved the quick response triggers playing Halo Infinite. I think this is the biggest thing that sets it apart from the factory controller. I mostly play Diablo on PC so I wasn't really interested in using this to play PC games. However, with all the button customization, I think this would perform really well. For this review I was going to attempt it but I could not get the computer to see the controller. There are no instructions that come with it and I downloaded the Razer application but nothing worked. Overall I would recommend this for any gamer. You're going to get the best performance out of shooter games but it's still a nice overall upgrade.

Super responsive and quality build
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This year was the first year I really got into pc gaming with a controller. I've played for years with a mouse and keyboard so it was a bit of a switch at first. I started out using just the regular controller and getting comfortable with the new setup and the FPS game I chose to play. I tried a wireless and a wired version of the basic controller and thought both worked well enough for not being a pro gamer or streamer. I have looked at these programmable controllers or elite/pro style ones and wasn't convinced a controller could be worth four times the price of a regular controller initially. I was wrong. I absolutely love this controller. I love the quality feel of the material and how solid and heavy the controller feels in my hands. The key presses are so responsive and the triggers feel so much better. The back buttons took some getting used to but I love the option to program additional functions and have more control. I was impressed enough that I went out and bought a second one so my husband and I both have one for gaming. If you are looking for a next level controller you won't be disappointed.

Best X/S controller on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best controller option for Xbox Series X\S. As a customer who was happy with the Stealth Ultra controller from Turtle Beach, I ended up disappointed as the rubber grip on the right side started peeling off. This also made the light track start sliding out as well. I decided to get the Razer V3 and give it a try. This controller feels great. Every button screams quality, and the Hall Effect Thumbsticks are amazing. This controller has a much better build than any other controller on the market. The thing that surprised me the most was the speed of the connection between the Xbox and the controller. When I powered up the Steath Ultra I would have to wait a good minute for the console to turn on. With the Razer it is instant. This is a controller gamers are looking for. It's a solid controller with no gimmicks. Your controller doesn't need LED lights all around the edge and a display, these options make the battery last about an hour on the Stealth Ultra. The Razer is a controller that has everything you need and is built to last.

Elite 2 alternative with better quality assurance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are tired of having your xbox elite II controllers reliably and repeatedly break and are looking for a similar kind of controller this might be the controller for you. TLDR So far so good. This just came out so I cannot attest to long term usage yet. However, I've used it for about 50 hours as of the time of writing this and I have had zero issues. Does not sound like a lot, but when you consider that my 4th (and final) Xbox elite II controller was defective right out of the box this controller has already surpassed Microsoft in terms of quality assurance. I bought this controller out of frustration after my last xbox elite II controller broke (did I mention it was my 4th?) and I decided to stop giving Microsoft money since they are more interested in charging $60 to repair their $200 controllers only for it to break again in a year or less. I've used razer mice and keyboards for PC and have never had any issues with them so I figured I would check out their newest controller. This controller has the same xbox joystick layout which I prefer to the Playstation joystick configuration and the feature set seemed similar enough so I figured it would be worth a shot to see if it was worth the money. A lot of the buttons on this controller have a mouse click feedback when pressed which didn't know I liked until I had it in hand. I've never really had any issues with stick drift (lucky in that regard I guess) so I cannot attest to the hall effect joysticks being better than traditional joysticks. I really like the D-pad on this controller. I also liked the D-pad on the elite controller but I fell like this one I have more precise control on. Back paddles and extra shoulder buttons are all nice. I'd say my hands are average sized and my fingers rest comfortably where I don't have to reach or hold the controller differently to press them. Kind of a bummer that only the macro buttons are reprogrammable (wish I could customize each button like the Elite controller allows you to do, maybe Razer will listen and add that feature in future products). That is my only reason for not rating this 5 stars as of the time of writing this. However, a thing I really like is being able to program the macro buttons in game just by using the controller itself. With the elite I would have to open the app and make adjustments. Then if I wanted to make changes I would have to reopen the app and repeat the process. With this controller I just hold the programming button and press the macro button I want to change, then press the button I want that macro button to change to. So you can easily make adjustments in game on the fly without having to open a separate app. Battery life I cannot comment on because I always have mine attached via USB while using. However, from other reviews I've seen and read it's neither amazing or abysmal so probably not worth commenting on. If you like the feel of the elite controller but want to stop giving Microsoft money and hope they figure out how to stop selling defective "elite" controllers give this a try. I have and I am not disappointed

Great Controller with on the go mapable buttons
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely one of the best pro controllers. I have had the xbox pro controller series 2 and razer wolverine wired controller and i can definitely say this one is my favorite. This controller has 2 more buttons next to the bumpers that make it great for your reload and weapon switching while using your back paddles for crouching and jumping. It makes playing against pc players feel more even and makes for much more enjoyable experience playing plateformers and first person shooters. Buttons feel like they are made with good quality, better than the series 2 xbox controller.

Its ok
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this controller when i returned my elite core controller. I figured razer is usually very good and read most of the reviews and saw that majority enjoyed it. Easy to connect to the xbox. Feels about the same as the elite controller series. Although the paddles dont come off of this controller. You cant really customize the controller. The sticks, d pad or triggers. Also dont like how you cant tell what the battery life is on the controller. Always shows a charging sign when it shows battery life on screen. Mine has connection issues lately and has veen shut off randomly. So im actually going to turn it in for a different controller soon. Its ok just not worth the price

False advertising, bad implementation of HE sticks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.tremendous stick drift out of the box and this controller offers no way to calibrate. They expect users to run a 10% deadzone setting by default (value 1=10% or so) one of the worst implementation of hall effect sticks to date. A shame this controller had alot to offer if they did not scam us on with the marketing hype around no stick drift. It also will decide to not turn on until you usb cycle it, firmware can fix that im sure. As well as you cannot individually set circle and rectacle pattern to each stick, both have to be done at the same time, meaning if you want to aim with circle your left sticks movement will then be choppy. So many more issues I noticed but I will stop.
