Posted .Hi BirIL, if the remote did not work, the first thing to confirm is whether it was programmed to your device. Universal remotes require programming to your TV or device brand before they will operate it. Even though the remote is new and includes batteries, please press the correct device button and program using the included code list or the auto code search method.

Replacement remote

They recommended an RCA $12 remote do not buy this remote. Take your $12 and put it torward the exact remote that comes with your tv, you'll be so much happier. For me now Best Buy will be the last place i purchase anything.
