It does turn on the tv and allows to change the input, it works on the VCR just fine. I got this as deal of the day, so it was half price. It would not be worth full price because it is a simple remote and does not control the smart apps on the TV. I am unable to access any of the smart tv functions, so am unable to watch Netflix or hulu- so ultimately, it really is lacking primary functions for today’s tv’s.

Nice little remote

I bought this to use at hotels because some of them have remotes that do not allow you to go to the HDMI device. This remote is easy to program so I can connect an Xbox for the kids to use.

It works

The setup took sometime, but once I got it, no problems. It would be nice if the backlight worked for the whole remote and not just the navigation button I'm the middle.
