I got extra cable so I could put the antenna higher in a convenient place. The cable that came with the antenna was pretty short. But the antenna was so lightweight that the cable prevented it from sitting up. The longer cable was so strong that it kept flipping the antenna.

She does now. This picked up way more stations that I expected. She loves it.

Much better than an antenna that just hooks to the t v. The boost is well worth it. I only could pick up two channels I. My bedroom until I purchased this . Now I can get over 35

No local channels

After learning from tge FCC website that 30+ channels were available after the setup with this antenna only 5 were recognized and the reception was terrible. With smart TVs and plug in streaming devices you can be cable and satellite free but you still need an outside antenna for local channels. Thank God Best Buy provided a return policy

Posted .Rina, I’m sorry you didn’t get the local channels you expected with this antenna. After connecting any antenna, your TV must run a Channel Scan/Auto Program for your TV to recognize any channels. Be sure to set your TV to Air/Antenna (not Cable), and keep in mind that reception can vary a lot indoors. The signal strength at your exact location is the determining factor in whether any antenna can pick up a signal or not. Walls, Low-E windows, nearby buildings, and electrical interference from household items can also reduce the signal strength at your location inside your home. If you try again, place the antenna as high as possible near a window facing the direction of your broadcast towers, fully uncoil any extra cable, and again, keep it away from routers/streaming devices. Also, be sure to run a new channel scan after every adjustment.

RCA Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna

This being an amplified antenna, I thought that I could pull in more channels, but I did not. I also receive just seven channels using this amplified antenna.

Posted .Hello TomRay100 - Yes the location of the antenna inside your house does play a role in the performance of the antenna. Ideally, placing the antenna high and near a window facing the direction of the broadcast towers will typically yield the best results. Keep in mind that you will have to perform a new channel scan each and every time the antenna is physically moved or adjusted.

Works but still waiting for perfection

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This Tv Antenna seems to work, I purchased a new 43 inch nonsmart Tv at the same time I purchased this antenna, sometimes the picture will break up but I have only had the both for 2 months, they seem to work better now than before. I don't know if the antenna has anything to do with the close caption, which still doesn't come in correctly for the second or third pages.

This antenna receives all of the channels we were expecting. Now, I want to look into getting a DVR. Make sure you put it on an outside wall.
