Did not work well at all very few channels available. Tried another brand and old rabbit ears worked better. Returned back to store.

Hello Kevin - We’re sorry to hear the antenna didn’t work well for you and that you decided to return it. The "rabbit ears" or "dipoles" are specifically designed to receive VHF signals (very high frequency). If your location has many stations broadcasting on VHF frequencies, the rabbit ears may indeed work better for those specific channels.

Modern flat antennas, like the one you tried, work well with UHF signals (ultra-high frequency), which are more common for digital TV broadcasts today. However, some locations still have several VHF channels being broadcast, and in those cases, an antenna like rabbit ears might provide stronger reception for those stations.

To determine the frequencies of stations in your area and optimize antenna choice and placement, you can visit the FCC's station map tool here: https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps. If you need additional help, feel free to reach out at https://www.rcaantennas.net/ask-engineer/. Thank you for your feedback!

FrankK, indoor reception depends completely on the broadcast signal strength inside your home. If the signal isn’t strong indoors, no antenna will be able to display channels. Also, if a channel scan wasn’t performed through the TV’s menu, no channels will appear even if a signal is present. For your refund, the Best Buy customer service team can provide you with an update.

Hi Cutspectrum - It is true that reception results can vary depending on geography, terrain, and distance from local broadcast towers. Also, just a reminder: no channels will appear unless a channel scan is performed after connecting the antenna. This critical step is outlined in both the Quick Start Guide and Owner’s Manual included in the box. If you'd like to check what stations are available in your area before rescanning, you can use the FCC’s DTV reception map at https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps to help place your antenna in the best location. Let us know if we can assist further!

It’s about what you would expect from an RCA product. Cheaply made, poor signal reception, and large footprint, especially with the twin antennas. Not a fan.

Hello RhondaN - Performing a channel scan is a crucial step after setting up your antenna, and it’s sometimes missed even though it’s mentioned in the instruction manual and Quick Start Guide. Without performing a channel scan, your TV will not display a single channel. Remember to rescan every time you reposition or relocate the antenna to ensure your TV updates the available channels in the antennas new location. Proper antenna placement near a window facing the broadcast towers is also very important. Be sure to fully uncoil any extra antenna cable, as coiled cables can weaken the signal. Reception can be affected by factors like distance from towers, terrain, and obstacles such as trees, buildings, and your home’s construction materials. I would like to give this product zero stars but that is not an option. I had high hope for this antenna. The second I took it out of the box though, I could see that the quality was poor. It was made of thin plastic with extendable rabbit ears on the back. Then we hooked it up to our tv. Scanned it multiple times both digital and analog and it picked up zero channels. Yes, we know how to set it up and scan, not operator error. Super disappointed and taking it back.
