We're sorry to read about your initial experience with the antenna. Reception issues can be due to various factors, even when in close proximity to broadcast towers. Sometimes too strong of a signal can actually be a bad thing. Some other factors that can affect reception include building materials, nearby terrain, and even electronic interference within the home. Hopefully you did run a channel scan through your TV menu settings after each and every time you moved or relocated the antenna. That is the most often over-looked required step. Keep in mind, there are several other factors that can affect your ability to receive the broadcast signal at your specific location. The biggest factors in whether any antenna can receive a signal relates to the broadcasters power & the signal strength at your specific location inside your home, the surrounding terrain, whether or not there you have a direct line of sight to the broadcast towers, meteorological conditions, large nearby structures and even the construction materials used in your dwelling. To set up an over-the-air TV antenna, first find the optimal location in your home for the antenna (https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps), ideally near a window and as high as possible, to ensure the best signal reception. Then, connect the antenna to your TV, scan for available channels using your TV's setup menu and you should be able to view channels on your TV.
