Hello SaritaV - We're sorry to hear that the antenna didn't meet your expectations in terms of being wire-free. We understand the appeal of a completely wireless experience, but unfortunately, over-the-air antennas do require a physical connection to ensure reliable signal transmission.

I have 2 other indoor antennas and they work great and pick up a lot of OTA channels. Unfortunately, this RCA antenna is a piece of garbage and am going to throw in trash. I wouldn't want anyone else to try and think it would even work. If I could rate it -5 stars I would. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!

Hello RaiderOne - The signal strength at the specific and exact location you are placing the antenna is one of the major factors on whether an antenna can receive a signal. There are some locations within a house, such as a basement, where it is difficult to secure a watchable signal. Some other factors include things like the surrounding terrain, whether or not you have a line-of-sight to the broadcast towers and even materials used in construction of your dwelling have an impact on the signal indoors. Metal roofing also plays a role in degrading an incoming broadcast signal. If you can place your antenna high up, near a window, facing the direction of your local broadcast towers you may have better luck getting a signal with the antenna. Always remember to rescan for channels through your TV menu settings when first setting up your antenna and any time you move or adjust your antenna. If you can send us an email at RCAAntennaHelp@voxxintl.com we would be glad to assist you in determining which antenna would be best for your location.

The reception of stations that broadcast less then 5 miles away is constantly interrupted with broken video and audio and even blackouts lasting a few seconds or more.

Hello Curley -In some instances, if the broadcast towers are very close and the signal is too strong, it can actually be problematic. An overly strong signal can oversaturate your TV's tuner, causing pixelation and dropouts, as you described.

Hello ErasmoP, we’re sorry to hear that you weren’t able to receive any channels. The most common reason for this is not performing a Channel Scan after connecting the antenna to your TV. This step is crucial, as TVs do not automatically detect channels without performing that step. After performing the channel scan, placement is also key—higher locations near windows facing the direction of the broadcast towers in your area, away from metal objects and electronic interference, tend to yield the best reception. Hello WilliamM -
We’re sorry to hear about your experience and would like to help address your concerns. The performance of any TV antenna, including RCA antennas, relies heavily on proper setup and the strength of the broadcast signal at your exact location. Signal strength can vary based on your distance from broadcast towers, surrounding terrain, and even the materials used in your home. To optimize performance, we recommend visiting the FCC’s website at https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps to locate broadcast towers in your area. This can help you position the antenna in the best possible location, such as near a window facing the towers.

It’s also crucial to perform a channel scan through your TV’s menu every time the antenna is moved or adjusted. This step ensures your TV can recognize all available channels in your area. Millions of RCA antennas have been sold, and millions of people are enjoying free over-the-air TV with their RCA antennas. We’d love to help you get the most out of your antenna as well. Please visit https://www.rcaantennas.net/ask-engineer/ for personalized support. Thank you for your feedback!

Hello lgwasher- Keep in mind that there are also several other factors that can negatively affect your ability to receive the broadcast signal at your specific location. Each antenna installation location is 100% unique and typically presents its own set of challenges. Objects such as tree foliage, building construction type and materials, metal roofing materials and the physical terrain (mountains & hills) of the land all play significant roles and may severely block the incoming signals at your specific location. If using an indoor antenna, aluminum or steel siding, metal lathe used under older plaster walls, and metal mesh under exterior stucco all can also impact the incoming broadcast signals. When looking at signal strength ratings online, keep in mind that those signal strength ratings are taken at a height of about 30 feet with zero obstructions. As no two antenna installations are 100% identical, reception seemingly always varies from neighbor to neighbor and even from room-to-room even within the same house. Also Mileage ratings placed on antenna packaging are merely provided as a general guide to antenna performance and those ratings can vary substantially based on all of the above mentioned items that affect incoming broadcast signals.

If you still do not see any channels after performing a channel scan and you have also made sure your TV is on the correct “input” it is likely you will have to check to see if your TV is compatible with today’s digital broadcast signals. Listed within your TV’s specifications (somewhere inside your TV owners manual), there will be a type of “tuner” listed. Your TV must have “ATSC” listed as the type of tuner. Most TV's built after 2007 have this type of tuner. An easy way to find out is by entering your TV’s model number and performing a Quick Google Search for your TV model number. Again, the type of tuner listed should be an “ATSC” and NOT an “NTSC”. If your TV does not have an ATSC tuner built in, you will need to purchase a digital converter box. You can purchase any brand of digital converter box from any local or online retailer (Walmart, Target, Best Buy...etc).

Hello Webs - Sorry to hear that the antenna didn't work as expected for you at your location. Here are a few tips that might help you start watching free HDTV:
      1) - Perform a Channel Scan: After connecting the RCA TV antenna to your TV, make sure you perform a channel scan through your TV’s menu system. This step is often overlooked but is crucial for finding available channels. The process varies by TV brand, so refer to your TV’s manual for specific instructions.
      2) - Check TV Input: Ensure your TV is set to the correct input, such as "Antenna" or "Air."
      3) - Optimal Antenna Placement: Placing the antenna near a window, ideally facing the direction of the broadcast towers, can improve reception. Also, make sure the antenna cable is fully uncoiled before running the scan.
      4) - Verify Your TV Tuner: Double-check that your TV has an ATSC tuner, which is required for receiving digital broadcasts. Most TVs built after 2007 have this, but you can confirm by doing a quick Google search with your TV’s model number. If your TV doesn't have an ATSC tuner, you'll need a digital converter box.
If these tips don’t resolve the issue, feel free to email us at RCAAntennaHelp@voxxintl.com with your zip code, and we’ll be happy to provide more specific assistance.

Hello Dede - Sorry to read that the antenna did not work as expected at your specific location. Hopefully you did run a channel scan through your TV menu settings. That is the most often over-looked step after connecting your antenna to your TV. Keep in mind, there are several other factors that can affect your ability to receive the broadcast signal at your specific location. The biggest factors in whether any antenna can receive a signal relates to the broadcasters power & the signal strength at your specific location inside your home, the surrounding terrain, whether or not there you have a direct line of sight to the broadcast towers, meteorological conditions, large nearby structures and even the construction materials used in your dwelling. If you can send us a quick email to RCAAntennaHelp@voxxintl.com with your zip code we can take a look to see what other specific information we may be able to provide to help you get watching Free HDTV.

Hello majj- Living at ground level can indeed sometimes present challenges in receiving a strong signal with an indoor antenna. An outdoor antenna is generally a good solution for such situations as it can be mounted higher to avoid obstructions that are presented at ground level and when the signal strength indoors is reduced by any number of common factors. If you need assistance selecting the right model or have any installation queries, please contact us at RCAAntennaHelp@voxxintl.com.
