I eventually switched out my TV with a new Vizio 24" which tunes in most of the stations with much less effort. So I think it was more the TV set tuner. This one seems to be a bit more sturdy in it's construction and has a sleek look about it. It's working out with the new TV.

Although the product performance was good, I had trouble stretching the short cords to my wall outlet. I had to relocate tv closer to another outlet to accommodate the short cords.
