This device works for free tv, and I do get about eight channels. But it it's like the old radio antennas, if you hold the antenna reception is great, walk away and not as good.

This RCA is small and self standing. I placed it by the window and was shocked when it clearly pulled in over 15 channels in a suburb 20-30+ miles from towers. Picture and sound was stellar on all of them! Cut cable! Definitely the best of the under $30 indoor antennas and it doesn’t have to be hung or mounted.

I purchased three of these units as I was working to move away from the high cost of cable. Antenna works well for local HD channels within a 30 mile range.

would purchase another one with a longer range or exterior digital antenna if this will be main source for TV, otherwise ok for spare room. Too many non English channels

    Helped me dump cable

We bought this antenna when my wife found it on sale on bestbuy.com. We had just dumped cable and were looking for a way to watch local channels. This, along with a Roku3 and a DVR and we're watching the same shows on our schedule while saving over $1300 per year. And the picture is as good as it was with digital cable. Sometimes there's some skipping and freezing if the signal us weak, but that's not the antenna's fault. Very happy!!!

This powered antenna lets me receive about 40 channels and sub-channels in a 4th floor unit in an urban area. I was able to save money by turning in an extra cable box.

The RCA Antenna does the job. It works fine for the purpose we bought it for. It cost $25.00, but the $10.00 store brand we bought for the bedroom TV works just as well also.

    Flat Isn't Always Better

I tried other systems that were flat or wall mounted; but this one, although it does have antennae, is really better. As it has a signal amplifier inside, I found it picked up 10 - 12 extra channels over the flat wall mounted ones. The closer to the window you have it, the better it gets. Nevertheless, it is still is much better in the exact small spots as the flat ones. I started to buy this one at first, decided to get a very expensive flat anntenae, then regreted it. Took it back for this one and am satisfied, especially since this one was cheaper than the flat one.

Very easy to set up and use. My old TV in the guest room is seldom used. We get about 12 over the air channels here on the edge of the city. To make the telescoping antennas less obtrusive, I need a longer cable, then I could find a bracket, suspending the unit from the ceiling downward, rather than setting it on a window side table. It is okay for now. I will work on aesthetics later.

It's a decent set- you get channels from stations from about thirty miles away...you get more channels and better reception than the old bunny ears that we had (which were from the nineties)...placement is still key for good reception (too low to the ground and you get nothing)...and better than paying for cable tv since we either wait for stuff to go on Blu-ray or stream anyways...

I chose an amplified antenna to help with my location's reception. Facing in the appropriate direction, gets great reception and picture clarity. Well worth the cost.

Works well and can get decent amount of channels if close to urban areas. Can’t speak for more remote areas. This gets me what I wanted in a kitchen TV.

I was looking for a replacement antenna for one the I had to give away. So far it does what it is supposed to. The signals from even remote stations are coming in clear.

When Xfinity was unable to install my TV subscription my only recourse was to go with an antenna to receive local channels. This item works just great.

This antenna works great. The only time reception is sporadic is when there is bad weather or its windy. I can get good reception when it is located away from a window too.

It can set on stand behind TV. Have to turn it sometimes for some stations, but usually works well. Sometimes maybe the weather affects it but usually turning it will help.

I would recommend this antenna, although it does requires adjusting from time to time, and does lose the signal occasionally, it's not bad, and much cheaper than directv.
