This antenna picked up stations very well but only if it sat in the middle of my living room. Not very convenient. I liked the ease of use and the quality of the picture. I wish I could have placed it elsewhere and still have it work for me. It was so easy to set up and connect. Plus I liked the look of it. I have too many trees and other hinderances to having an antenna indoors so I had to opt for mounting one outside the house. But if I could've used this one indoors I would have preferred that.

Clear signal. Good range gives us many channels to choose from. Would definitely recommend. I am very happy with this purchase, I was concerned that I was not buying the best because this model did not cost as much as others available but the range and output listed on box told me this was a very good option. So please don't just buy the most expensive would be a waste of your money. This is perfect.

Hated cable. Cut the cord and bought this antenna. Did not work so hot in the middle of my living room where the cable box was, so I moved the whole set-up near a southwest facing window and, wow!, 60 channels popped up - not every one useable but definitely the big 3 and all their side bands. I could buy a bigger, fancier or more powerful antenna and probably pull in a lot more stations but for the price (and savings over cable) this one does the job for me!

I decided to cancel cable because I really only watch the main channels (CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS). The reception with this RCA Indoor Amplified TV Antenna was great, and I actually got about 30 channels; but some were duplicates and many in Spanish (I just speak English). The unit has a sleek and modern look, not the old-fashioned 'bunny ears.' I've done HOURS of research on antennas, and trust me, if you want to save time, just go ahead and buy this one.

I cancelled my cable because the prices were getting too high. A friend suggested getting an antenna & this one works without having to plug it into a socket thereby saving on electricity as well. I get the basic channels & public TV but for the one time price of $10- it's definitely much better than paying $100+ for cable. I don't watch all those other channels anyway.

This is a replacement of same model which I had used for at least a couple of years, so they don't last forever. I do get about a dozen channels, though not all at the same time. Picture is absolutely great, installation is simple & obviously made for dummies. I have one on a tv upstairs, another one on a tv on main floor, seldom receive all the same channels with both antennas. Despite any shortcomings, it is very good value. Was thrilled to dispose of cable.

I changed from a flat type to this amplified antenna and the picture quality improved drastically for all my local channels. It even picked up some new ones I didn't even know were there. Very satisfied.

This thing does one thing, it works. It plugs in and the TV picks 100+ channels. 85 are useless, It feels like actually getting cable, where you pay for 300 channels and you only watch maybe 10. Except they're free.

I currently have three of these units in use that I have purchased over the past three plus years. This purchase was for a relative who finally took my advice after trying several more expensive units three times the cost of this one. They went from receiving 27 digital channels to 42 digital channels after for going cable on a seldom watched tv unit. In my case, I get 47 digital channels. This antenna is my only source of input so I am extremely happy with that. The one time cost of the antenna is well worth the price verses a monthly cable bill. These antennas are extremely easy to use. Plug antenna cord into antenna jack on tv, plug transformer into an electrical outlet, turn power on and adjust antenna. Amplified antennas do require electricity to operate. Individual results vary based upon many factors such as location to tv stations and placement of antenna. I have noticed that the higher you place the antenna unit the better the results. However, placement is limited to the length of the two cords. Also, placing the antenna closer to windows helps reception. I was also told, it's a common misconception to open the antenna arms as wide and as long as possible. The goal is actually to receive the signal with the arms length and width as small as possible for a more direct signal. In my experiences, I do get a better picture this way.

I have an older Digital antenna with both rabbit ears for converting analog signals to digital, as well as a digital antenna. I bought this model because i wanted to get rid of the old "rabbit ears" look in my bedroom. It turns out that my old antenna is better suited for where I live. This antenna performs very well if you live on an upper level in an apartment, or in an area where the land is mostly flat. But you live in the Valley in southern California like myself, where there are steep hills and mountains, or on the ground floor in a apartment complex with an enclosed courtyard , the antenna may have more difficulty pulling in a signal. My advice would be to buy it, and try it for your I live in an apartment with and enclosed courtyard setting. So I had to sit this antenna in the window sill in order to pull all in the channels. Like all antennas, you will have to move and adjust the direction for this antenna once in a while, but less often than the older models.

This works well and is easy to install. I wish I knew if the stronger one would work better or is it just my tv area. I looked at the box in the store but there was not alot of information about distance and power. The size is good and it is easy to put multiple places if your reception will allow it. I would buy the more powerful one if you are in doubt. Some days this does not work well if it is stormy, very windy or rainy.

When my previous antenna broke and required replacement, I went to Best Buy and purchased this is antenna. For the price and the available options, it was a bargain and much needed upgrade from the previous antenna. With it being compact and more modern looking than my previous model, it added a nice touch to the room. Overall this a fine indoor amplified antenna, especially for the price. It's not going to get you the kind of reception that an outdoor mount can deliver, but it's also not going to cost you nearly as much or require installation.

HD antennas require a bit more research

This antenna worked just fine for what it is. Make sure to go online and do the research on where your tower is. A lot of people just buy the strongest antenna available but this one works great for my location. Setup was quick and easy and it works like a charm. I live in Dayton, Ohio and my channel access is occasionally limited but I didn't expect to get every channel under the sun. If picture quality seems spotty keep in mind that you likely have multiple versions of the channel and may need to switch to the other one. Also listen to your radio for updates about your local television stations, eg. my local station will require televisions with antennas to reprogram their channels after July 15. So you may have do a bit more work than you would with cable, but for a cord cutter who mainly relies on Netflix, Hulu, Prime, and Playstation for entertainment this more than met my needs.

    Never pay for cable again

I haven't had cable since January of this year, nor have I been able to watch television. I relied on my phone to keep with worldly news. I was afraid to buy an antenna because I assumed the screen would have a lot of static as tv used to be in the 80's. Boy was I wrong!!! I have read the comments and I also assumed that if I bought this antenna it wouldn't work because I live in an apartment building, not a private home. I was certainly wrong a second time. With this antenna I can pick up 61 channels and ALL channels are clear as if I have cable. I also am pleased that the directions describe how to load the channel finder on your phone so you can locate your nearest towers. I bought this antenna for my bedroom and I am so content with it that I will be purchasing another one for my living room television. I know this is cliche but I'm going to say it just as other people have said in their reviews, "Who needs cable? I'm not paying for cable anymore".

I never bother to get cable because I dont want to sit in front of TV, day & night, to watch cable to get my money's worth. Happy with over-the-air reception using this antenna. Pick up Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC & independent stations. Bought it in April & felt price was high. Noticed it is on sale now at almost half the cost. My previous RCA antenna, sku 8280834, had problem picking up ABC & NBC sometime. With this antenna, sku 8280843 - no problem! So buy this (sku 8280843), instead of the cheaper RCA antenna (8280834).

Bought as a bundle with a Google Chromecast. Easy setup. Picture quality is excellent. Reception is very good to excellent depending on the channel. I pickup about 20 over-the-air channels, so some are more consistent than others. Found that by adjusting the very long antennas I'm able to improve on any reception. However, this is an over-the-air antenna, so it can be affected by adverse weather conditions. This is expected, and so I don't deduct points for it. Combined with the Chromecast and a video game machine, this is perfect for our Cave!

Very easy setup- 'plug-n-play'. We live within 20 miles of most towers and this antenna gets excellent HD quality picture(based on network broadcast). Does not get all channels at once, so switching back and forth does get tiresome, but for $25- well worth it.

I hooked this antenna to a set in my garage to view local OTA channels. Most of them have great digital reception. There are a couple that wont come in at all though. If I adjust the antenna, they come in, but the signal strength is so weak that its not stable. Overall it does what I expected. Just wish it was a little stronger.
