This was a good choice to use to receive local channels and successfully cut cable tv. With this antenna I am able to bring in all the surrounding channels and they are just as clear as if i was watching on cable, and they are free!! No more high cable bills!!

I cancelled my cable services and I decided to try this antenna....it was the smartest thing that I did regarding tv watching....I can get 27 channels and at least 20 I have crystal clear picture and I can watch more channals than with the basic cable from comcast. I am very pleased with it. Just feel sorry for myself for not getting this years ago and also feel sorry for the people that are still paying for cable.&

Consumer Reports had high ratings for this relatively inexpensive HDTV antenna and they were correct. We get great reception in our north Oakland CA home and are now happily saving $50 per month!!

    I Love Me Some RCA

I went through three antennas before bucking up and buying this one. I love the elegant design, the price was right on target, and it works perfectly well. One thing I didn't understand is that you have to move the antenna around sometimes. Some channels come in crystal clear in one location, and then others completely blank out. All you have to do is move the antenna around when the station is blank, and it will come in. This is normal. I'm breathing a sigh of relief that I can watch local channels live. It's like going back to the old days. I'm so excited, and I love it. It's a high quality product, and it's highly recommended! Thanks RCA! Muah!

I have had this antenna for about a month now it was very easy setup and use.I need to get a longer cable so I can get it setup in my window for a couple of the marginal channels but other than that it has worked very well.

    Good Antenna 1 Flaw

    Posted .

I live in Terre Haute and was looking for an antenna that would receive the four major networks. I tried the Mohu Leaf and only got two of the channels I wanted. I found out that CBS and Fox in my area use VHF so I took the Leaf back and tried this RCA antenna and was able to get all of the channels I wanted and 5 more for a total of 9. However, there is one major flaw with this antenna that keeps me from giving it 5 stars. The dipole antennas are flimsy and break very easily. Without them fully extended I cannot get any channels so I have to be very careful with them. Outside of that I am very satisfied with this product. It does the job I need it to do and would highly recommend it. Just be very careful with the dipoles.

I bought this a while ago to hook up my TV for local channels. Simply put, i don't see any difference on my TV with the antenna on or off. I regret buying it. I'm taking it back to Best Buy to return it. I wasted my time for something that doesn't produce any results. It's a NO NO for me!!!

I read the reviews before purchasing the item and thought I'd give it a try. I wished I tried another brand. I'm only able to receive 5 different channels. Most of the channels are repeats. The clarity is great when the signal is strong, but mostly the signal is low. Try the cheaper alternative first.

    Not receptive in rural/hilly/mountainous terrain

That's the only reason I can think of why it doesn't work... I'm on a foothill, and it worked for a couple of days, but only tuned in three channels (all from the same station.) Now - nothing. Clear days - nothing; Cloudy days - nothing; Nighttime - nothing, etc. I'm less than 15 miles away from the one station it initially picked up, and now it doesn't even see it. It does pick up a few other stations, but they're just color test patterns. It's going back!

An old Philips MANT-310 is much better.

I purchased this because I gave my son my Philips MANT-310. I live on a hilltop midway between Hartford CT and Worcester, MA. With the Phillips I can pick up 38 stations, with the RCA only 24. So I bought a used MANT-310 and the RCA is collecting dust. I'm giving it 3 star because it's way better than a non-amplified. I would only recommend it to a friend because the Phillips isn't made anymore.

I'd read a good review about an RCA antenna and while I was in the store I picked up this one, mistaking it for the one that got good reviews. This one did not, and I see why now. There are 37 channels available to pick up in a 4 to 12 mile range. This antenna picked up 19 at the most, after trying all the things suggested. Our old rabbit ears I plugged back in got 33 channels. I'm returning this one tomorrow.

I have had for several years. It worked great until the recent channel realignments. Since then signal quality has decreased and some stations are almost impossible to get a clear signal. It was great when it worked. About to buy a different one.
