Works, but a little tricky depending on where

This is ok. Likely depends on the TV signals in the area in which you live. It is a bit finicky to get it angled in the right direction to get the channels you want.

This antenna did not work for TV stations located 19 miles away per the app. We were not able to even pick up our local station 2 miles away. We were especially disappointed when Best Buy refused a request for refund because it was outside the window of warranty. We connected it one time but because of home remodel we were not able to connect it within Best Buy’s short window. We would not recommend this product to anyone.

Hello - Hopefully you did run a channel scan through your TV menu settings. That is the most often over-looked step after connecting your antenna to your TV. Your TV will not recognize any channels unless this step was performed. Keep in mind, there are several other factors that can affect your ability to receive the broadcast signal at your specific location. The biggest factors in whether an antenna can receive a signal relates to the broadcasters power and the signal strength at the your specific location, the surrounding terrain, whether or not there is an actual line of sight to the broadcast towers, meteorological conditions, large nearby structures and the construction materials used in your dwelling. If you can send us a quick email to RCAAntennaHelp@voxxintl.com with your zip code we can take a look to see what other specific information we may be able to provide to help you get watching Free HDTV.

It is working but not perfectly. I cannot get channel 8 no matter what. Am I doing something wrong or is the station too far away?

    Placement is Key

I had no problem whatsoever with the antenna itself. That said, it needs to be near a window, and I was setting it up in a room where window placement would not have been practical. I gave up, reinstalled cable, and returned the antenna

It's ok, not great. But I can tell you that I also bought an amplified one also and tried it on the same tv and it wasn't much if any better. If you willing to try different locations and spend time turning it every which way you can get most channels.

    Weak Antenna

This antenna isn't as good as we'd hoped it would be. It's connected to a little 19" TV in our enclosed patio. It's not used that frequently but it would be nice if it provided good reception when we DO use it. If it's a windy day, the signal is lost so it's very frustrating. You have to keep repositioning it to recapture the signal again and again. Sometimes multiple attempts just doesn't cut it. Pretty disappointing. The little feet that keep it upright are weak too. It needs a more substantial base. Would not recommend.

Hello Deborah - Having to frequently adjust the antenna is often a sign that your location may be that signals are blocked by walls, metal, or other obstacles near your home. No antenna will receive a signal that isn’t present or strong enough, and channel changes can sometimes require repositioning if signals come from different directions. It's crucial to perform a full channel scan through your TV’s menu every single time you move or adjust the antenna so the TV can detect any available signals in its new position. Try placing your antenna higher up and as close to a window as possible. Checking the distance to your local towers (https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps) may also help determine if an outdoor antenna would work better for your setup.

Hello Caesar - Keep in mind that there are also several other factors that can negatively affect your ability to receive the broadcast signal at your specific location. Each antenna installation location is 100% unique and typically presents its own set of challenges. Objects such as tree foliage, building construction type and materials, metal roofing materials and the physical terrain (mountains & hills) of the land all play significant roles and may severely block the incoming signals at your specific location. If using an indoor antenna, aluminum or steel siding, metal lathe used under older plaster walls, and metal mesh under exterior stucco all can also impact the incoming broadcast signals. When looking at signal strength ratings online, keep in mind that those signal strength ratings are taken at a height of about 30 feet with zero obstructions. As no two antenna installations are 100% identical, reception seemingly always varies from neighbor-to-neighbor and even from room-to-room even within the same house. Also Mileage ratings placed on antenna packaging are merely provided as a general guide to antenna performance and those ratings can vary substantially based on all of the above mentioned items that affect incoming broadcast signals.
If you can place the antenna near (or in) a window facing the broadcast tower general direction, the better your chances are of receiving a signal. Also, make sure you completely uncoil the antennas cable before running the channel scan. If you have cable that is coiled up, uncoil it before rerunning a channel scan. The signal strength from the broadcast tower at your particular location, inside your home, is the single most important factor on whether or not an antenna can receive a signal. No antenna will receive a signal that isn’t there.

The signal received with the included amplifier is good enough to capture all of my local channels in HD but the stands are very flimsy and just opening and closing the doors on my entertainment center is enough to cause it to fall
