Works OK, But No Better Than Regular Antenna

I tried this antenna on a bedroom 4k tv. It worked ok but the signal strength was no better than what I was receiving with a standard set of indoor "rabbit ears". The amplifier did not boost signal strength in my situation. I returned the item.

When DISH network fights with local channels...

This works well for one main local channel - ABC but I cannot get the local CBS or NBC channel with it. I bought it because DISH network was fighting with the local ABC channel and wasn’t carrying them for a few weeks.

Installed in my attic using the RCA app for proper alignment of the antenna for best reception and still cannot pick up the major local stations even though they are well within the range the manufacturer says the antenna is suitable for use. Do not rely on this product meeting your expectations.

I had high expectations for this antenna but to me it didn’t live up to it , figuratively speaking. Reception for the channels I really wanted just wasn’t there. But I do get some local channels so I can’t really complain to much.

Hello Yep Yep - It’s important to note that indoor antenna performance can vary widely depending on setup and your exact location. Hopefully you did perform the Channel Scan (or Auto Program) step in the TV’s menu after connecting the antenna—without this, your TV won’t detect available channels. Also, no antenna will receive a signal that is not there.

Placement also plays a huge role. For best results, position the antenna as high as possible and near a window facing the broadcast towers. Make sure the antenna cable is fully uncoiled and always rerun the channel scan after moving the antenna.

Because TV reception depends heavily on your exact location and the signal strength at your exact location—factors like terrain, tree cover, building materials, and nearby obstructions all come into play and can cause a reduction in those incoming broadcast signals—selecting the right antenna for your area is crucial. Many free resources online can help estimate signal strength at your address, and we also offer pre-purchase antenna recommendations and setup assistance through our Ask-An-Engineer program at https://www.rcaantennas.net/ask-engineer/. We’d be happy to guide you in optimizing your setup.

Only picks up when the weather is nice. It doesn't puck up all the channels within 35 miles of my location but it will do as its in the garage and i wouldnt recommend it for regular home use.

I would not recommend this product. I thought that I would be able to get local stations. I received 3 local stations That was not the case. However, in the companies defense, after talking with other tech people, amplified antennas do not work due to the networks not allowing signals.

Hello Dottiesgreatdaughter - Thank you for your feedback. The number of channels received with any antenna depends entirely on your distance from local broadcast towers, obstructions along the broadcast signals path to you, and even your location’s terrain and surrounding environment. In some major metro areas like Los Angeles, people can receive over 100 channels for free, while others in rural areas may receive only a few due to signal availability. No network “blocks” signals from antennas; rather, reception is determined by broadcast range, environmental factors and whether or not the antenna you purchased is correct for your specific location. We recommend using the FCC’s DTV Reception Maps (https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps) to check the channels available in your area. If you need help in determining an antenna for your location, please reach out to us at https://www.rcaantennas.net/ask-engineer/.

Hello, This antenna really requires the booster connection to work effectively. I was looking for improvement in our regular network connection but found the RCA antenna fell short of my expectations. We still have "low signal" messages.

The amplified antenna does a great job in picking up off air HD signals. Tremendous advantage over a conventional antenna. This is my second antenna for home use to be used in different rooms.

I bought this antenna because I got rid of cable tv. Cable tv got yo expensive. With this antenna I can get the local channels & not have a big cable bill each month.
