Unreliable -- returned - did not replace with same

After that it began dropping channels, distorted picture, generally terrible performance and unreliable -- with or without amplifier. Spent 45 min on phone with Best Buy Tech and the advice was return it. No problems with same model TV and cheaper Best Buy brand antenna in room next door in our house. Returned 8-18-23 and did not get another. Maybe this was a lemon or manufacturing error but very annoying and discouraging because only solution offered by BB staff was just keep trying until you get an antenna that works. Seems like more time than I want to put into what should be a simple process: buy antenna at reasonable price, install, use TV as intended. Maybe a $20 set of rabbit ears will be the next option?

Posted .Hello Madge - The signal strength from your local broadcast towers, at your exact location inside your home, is the major factor on whether an antenna can receive a signal. Signal strength does vary from neighbor to neighbor and even from room to room in the same house. No antenna will receive a signal that isn't there. There are some locations where it is difficult to secure a watchable signal due to a lack of strong signals, signal being blocked by interior walls and other factors in the surrounding environment that can potentially (negatively) affect those signals. Some of those other factors include things such as the surrounding terrain, whether or not you have a line-of-sight to the local broadcast towers and even the materials used in construction of your dwelling have an impact on the signal strength indoors. Typically, if you can place your antenna high up, near a window that faces the direction of your local broadcast towers, you will likely have better luck getting a signal. Always remember to rescan for channels through your TV menu settings any time you move your antenna. If you did not rescan for channels after relocating the antenna, any new and expected changes in channels/reception would not be accurate and would likely be much worse.

Easy to setup

Your distance from the broadcast towers and the signal strength at your location as-well-as the surrounding terrain all play important roles on whether an antenna can receive a signal. Sometimes another size or type of antenna is needed.
