Hello PailetteB - reception, please ensure that you have performed a thorough channel scan on your TV after setting up the antenna. The number of available channels can vary significantly based on your proximity to broadcast towers. You might be in an area with fewer broadcast channels. To verify the broadcast towers near you and check the available channels, please visit: https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps.

For better reception, try placing the antenna as high as possible and near a window that faces the direction of the nearest broadcast towers. Also, make sure the antenna's cable is fully uncoiled. Remember, whenever the antenna is moved or adjusted, even slightly, a new channel scan is necessary to capture any changes in channel availability. If you continue to experience issues, please contact us at RCAAntennaHelp@voxxintl.com for more personalized assistance.

Hello Alex - The broadcasters signal strength at your location is one of the major factors on whether an antenna can receive a signal. As it mentioned, there are some locations where it is difficult to secure a watchable signal and that is ultimately due to your location a handful of other factors. Some other those other factors include things like the surrounding terrain, whether or not you have a line-of-sight to the broadcast towers and even materials used in construction of your dwelling can have an impact on the signal indoors. If you can place your antenna high up, near a window, facing the direction of your local broadcast towers you may have better luck getting a signal. Always remember to rescan for channels through your TV menu settings any time you move or adjust your antenna. If you can send us a quick email to RCAAntennaHelp@voxxintl.com with your zip code we can take a look to see what specific information we can provide to help you.

After installing the RCA ANTENNA my reception actually seems to be worse then my previous AS SEEN ON TV HD ANTENNA. Unfortunately i already threw the other ANTENNA away. Im not able to purchase another one now due to finances. The RCA ANTENNA IS DEFINITELY NOT GIVING ME GREAT RECEPTION AS DESCRIBED. NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THIS PURCHASE!!!

Hello Bear, The signal strength at your location is one of the major factors on whether an antenna can receive a signal. Unfortunately there are some locations where it is difficult to secure a watchable signal. The surrounding terrain, whether or not you have a line-of-sight to the broadcast towers and even materials used in construction of your dwelling have an impact on the signal strength indoors. A couple things you can try is to place your antenna high up, near a window, facing the direction of your local broadcast towers. Also, if you have extra antenna cable coiled up, uncoil it. After you have completed those steps, make sure you rerun a channel scan through your TV menu settings. Hopefully these tips will get you up and running getting a signal with your antenna.

    Trash and False Promotion

Cord cutting has become the way to go. However, many companies are claiming you can get specific local air channels to still keep you satisfied. Devices like these are all a fluke but a money getter for these companies. Don’t waste your time and mental health trying to position, repositioning and channel scanning. I did it for you that’s why I’m telling you. False promotion to generate interest and sales. I returned mine.

Hello - Millions of customers have cut-the-cord and are enjoying free HDTV. Unfortunately there are also several other factors that can negatively affect your ability to receive the broadcast signal at your specific location. The signal strength at your location is one of the major factors on whether an antenna can receive a signal or not. No antenna will receive a signal that isn't there. Furthermore, each antenna installation location is 100% unique and typically presents its own set of challenges. Objects such as tree foliage, building construction type and materials, metal roofing materials and the physical terrain (mountains & hills) of the land all play significant roles and may severely block the incoming signals at your specific location. If using an indoor antenna, aluminum or steel siding, metal lathe used under older plaster walls, and metal mesh under exterior stucco all can also impact the incoming broadcast signals. When looking at signal strength ratings online, keep in mind that those signal strength ratings are taken at a height of about 30 feet with zero obstructions. As no two antenna installations are 100% identical, reception seemingly always varies from neighbor to neighbor and even from room-to-room even within the same house. Also Mileage ratings placed on antenna packaging are merely provided as a general guide to antenna performance and those ratings can vary substantially based on all of the above mentioned items that affect incoming broadcast signals. Also, if you did not rescan for channels after relocating the antenna, any new and expected changes in channels/reception would not be accurate and would likely be much worse.

This item was a joke, I got a listing for 11 channels with not viewable for the most part ,like bad satellite in a storm and the rest had nothing I would have been interested in. the real Bummer was I had 5 towers within range and got nothing for my money. I thru it in the trash and want nothing to do with bull crap antennas and there claims. also set up was a nightmare.

Hello cliffeby, The biggest factors in whether an antenna can receive a signal relates to the broadcasters power and the signal strength at your exact location, the surrounding terrain, availability of an actual line-of-sight to the broadcast towers, meteorological conditions, materials used in construction of your dwelling. Normally if you can place the antenna, high up and near (or in) a window facing the broadcast tower general direction, the better your chances are of receiving a signal.
