Good Alternative to Leaf Antennas
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This antenna works pretty well. It was easy to install and picked up a decent amount of channels. I definitely like it better than the leaf style antennas. The only thing i'm not a fan of is that it uses a wall plug, instead of USB for the amplifier/LTE filter.

5 STARS!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This antenna is a must have for cord cutters! Very easy to hook/set up and the antenna is thin and light weight. I ran a scan and located 35 channels. The channels are crystal clear and HD.

Works Very Well for Smaller Antenna
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice antenna for a smaller unit. It can hang on a wall or it can stand up on two legs that fold out. It does come with an amplifier that is a must to include in your hookup. It is wise to install the free phone app that is suggested called the ‘RCA Signal Finder’. This app looks out and presents you a map on your phone of the various over the air stations. The app did work quite nicely. It shows you the direction the signal is coming from and you can turn the antenna to get the best signal – it really works. Also it works for any over the air antenna since it just shows you the various stations and where they are. Actually the amplifier that comes with the antenna worked with other antennas I have. First I used this in a 1st floor living room and the results were not tremendous. It was not able to gather as many signals (nor as clear) as some of the larger antennas. Of course the price point is smaller on this one. But when I placed this antenna on the second floor near the ceiling it worked great – almost as good as the larger antennas I have. Certainly very well for the price point. Just a suggestion but since my house is wired in all the rooms for cable TV, but I don’t have TV’s in all the rooms; I was able to utilize a cable outlet on the second floor by connecting this cable to the antenna upstairs to the cable that went to my living room (via jumping them together in the outside cable box). Basically I was able to hook the living room TV to the upstairs position of the antenna without any added wiring – and it worked great since now I had a higher position for the antenna. I would recommend this antenna based on the price point and the included signal amplifier. Well done by the designers. The app is definitely something I will continue to use from time to time as well to ensure the antenna is pointed optimally.

Another non-cable Option
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked the idea of what this RCA Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna is meant to be - an alternative to having to pay for cable TV, at least in theory. Even the prospect of streaming just your basic local broadcasts for free, sounds great. To start with, once you’ve unpacked the device, of course following the instructions, you use the RCA Signal Finder app to help narrow down the best direction to face the flat antenna, so you can see which networks and local channels are available that you’re interested in watching. Managing the rest of the setup was a bit tricky, but not overly difficult. Of course, every TV is different, as is, how people have their equipment set up. It’s just a matter of finding the right menu option in your television’s settings, like the instructions describe. Signal quality was less than consistent, at least, as per my own experience. Scrolling through the channels this antenna could bring in, I found that some were 480p, others 720p, and only a few were in 1080i. Repositioning the antenna only helped a little. Some of the channels came in super clear and bright, while others were pixelated and laggy. As far as the flat antenna itself, well it did feel rather flimsy. Sure it was light, and thin, but the two ‘feet’ that serve as an easel stand (if you don’t want to lay it down or hang it from the wall with the included screws), simply aren’t sturdy enough. If you don’t get the antenna standing up just right, it could easily fall over. The power cord being where it is between the feet and with having to bend the cord to get it out of the way, doesn’t help matters either. However, I can appreciate that a device such as this would prove useful to some. Especially people not wanting to spend money for cable service to get a slew of channels that, for the most part, they don’t even watch. I see this RCA Amplified Indoor TV Antenna as a step in an interesting direction, but there is definitely room for improvement here.

Absolutely recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was easy to install although the usb power adapter was not included. Luckily, we had an extra at home. The setup and scanning process was simple and we received a full set of channels, approx 44. The picture quality is very good. A stand is provided though it should be reinforced.

Wonderful Investment!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these antennas, and I'm very well pleased with the setup, reception, and overall performance. I acquired them for backup to inevitable cable discretions, i.e. removal of favored stations on a whim, distortion from inclement weather and so on. By the way I get at least 30 channels.

BEST HDTV ANTENNA
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the RCA HDTV antenna for OTA channels. This is my second one. The first one I have had for 12 years and it still works wonderful. I bought this one to add to a new TV. Great reception. Lots of OTA channels.

Scans less channels than a basic rabbit ear antenn
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use OTA DTV already as a method to cut the cable cord. I have always used a simple rabbit ear antenna to scan for channels. I thought that I would now get at least a dozen or more extra channels with the RCA - Amplified Indoor Flat HDTV Antenna - Black. The amplification did not help me with finding more OTA DTV channels. The RCA - Amplified Indoor Flat HDTV Antenna - Black picked up 52 channels during my first TV scan. A second scan picked up less at 50 channels. My traditional rabbit ear antenna, with no amplification, picked up 59 OTA DTV channels. In my large city with a mega telecommunication hub, a simple rabbit ear antenna will suffice just as well as the RCA - Amplified Indoor Flat HDTV Antenna - Black, but as for living in a rural area with telecommunication transmitters miles away, it is possible that the RCA - Amplified Indoor Flat HDTV Antenna - Black will outperform a traditional rabbit ear antenna. But in my city, with a mega telecommunication hub, it did not pick up every available channel in my Tri-State area.

Better quality signal
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've struggled to find a good solution for over-the-air broadcast signals since I cut the cable cord. I've tried three other solutions and had marginal quality signal strength....especially during the day. In addition, one of the local network channels broadcasts on UHF so I haven't been able to receive it. The RCA antenna has provided a better-quality signal strength than the other leading brands. I still can't receive the UHF station (an NBC network station) but the consistency of signal from the RCA antenna has definitely been better.

Good antenna for most, just not for my situation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm gong to start by saying I live in the Bermuda Triangle of radio waves. My house is about 30 miles outside of Philadelphia, and depending upon where the antennas are located could be more or less. Nothing works great here - not cell phones although they are 10x better than a few years ago, but not emergency radios, not CB radios, and not TV. Performance from this antenna, while good, was not what I had hoped was some new earth shattering technology to get the signal in hard to reach areas. it works great but in my situation I have to be outside and up high - like a roof top or something. While good, it isn't good for me- and might not be for you - you'll have to try and if not right for you, return it. Best Buy has been great about returns, so I don't mind going back to them if this product won't work in my situation. Best Buy has a great return policy, so if it isn't working for you and your situation, you can return it to Bed Buy.

Pulls in all my local stations
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live about 25 miles from where most of the transmission towers for my local stations are located. The downloadable signal finder app correctly identified their location and direction to face the antenna. I set up the antenna upright on the floor and leaning against the wall facing the direction the app indicated, plugged in the antenna to the amplifier and my tv, connected power, and had my tv scan for channels. It found 33 channels (which is all the channels available over-the-air here) and all are received perfectly. The loop-shaped antenna I replaced with this flat RCA couldn't receive any channels, so needless to say I am very happy with this.

Not any better than old school rabbit ears.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have some non-powered RCA rabbit Ears that I've had for at least 20 years. I compared this RCA Amplified multi-directional HDTV antenna to the rabbit ears and fully expected the amplified antenna to do much better at picking up channels. Both the amplified antenna and rabbit ears scanned the exact same amount of channels. Both failed to pull in Fox. Fox is a VHF channel and those are usually weaker signals. No matter what I tried, using the RCA signal app, which shows the Fox tower only 9.6 miles away, the amplified antenna will not pull in Fox. I'm very disappointed in this product, what with it not performing any better than an old pair of rabbit ears that cost around $10. Perhaps in a larger city this may work better and pull in more channels, but plugged in or unplugged, it pulled in the same number of channels. Interestingly enough, I put a piece of aluminum foil on the antenna and it pulled in one more channel, some odd ball analog channel. All this makes me think the amplifier for this product is extremely weak.

Picks up CBS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This RCA antenna works in our living room and bedroom. We decided to leave it in our living room because it picks up CBS and other channels. We can watch the football games on CBS now without having to pay a monthly fee. Would recommend it.
