We have always had signal issues where we live. We are less than 10 miles from the towers, but it is a hilly area. We would get our old antenna adjusted for a couple of channels but then the others would have a weak signal. This RCA amplified antenna has solved all those issues. Hooked it up and instantly had a full signal on every channel! It can also be hung on a wall like a picture or just siting somewhere. No complaints and highly recommended!

I had previously purchased another antenna from Best Buy that worked well with my device. I returned to purchase another of the same, however it was out of stock. This antenna is working well with my device.

    Useful Antenna?

I really don't know if this works. I tried several suggestions to find "towers" and none were found. The engineer indicated I was in a poor coverage area. Perhaps the FCC coverage map could be used to prevent shipments to such areas and wasting peoples time.

Terrible Antenna Cheaper Ones Are Better

    Posted .

Horrible antenna. No better than old fashioned rabbit ears. I had initially bought a cheaper antenna, which sometimes got spotty reception. I thought a more expensive antenna would be better. You don't always get what you pay for. At least the cheaper antenna got channels. This doesn't even get major channels like 7, 5 or 9 in Los Angeles. I followed the directions exactly, downloaded the app, located the best place for the antenna, placing it exactly in the direction of the towers, did the channel scan and it got less channels than the cheaper antenna. I'm returning this tomorrow and buying the cheap one again.

    12 Miles Away--No Signal.

This indoor antenna claims 55 miles of range but this is simply not true. I hooked up and moved all around my south facing window and could not get channels 13 miles away. I live 12 miles north of Seattle, south-facing and could not get NBC/FOX, etc. The equipment itself is very cheaply made, light as a feather with a very short power cord. There's no way the quality of this product holds a candle to what used to be made years ago. Very disappointing and unusable.

Hello Derek - Sorry to read that the antenna did not perform well at your specific location. Mileage performance varies in virtually every situation so making a 100% claim to a specific mileage antenna (55 Miles) is very tough within the different types of topography of the United States. The biggest factors in whether an antenna can receive in a situation relates to the broadcasters power and the signal strength at your specific location, your surrounding terrain, if there is an uninterrupted line-of-sight to the broadcast towers, current meteorological conditions, the construction of your dwelling and the types of broadcast signals being broadcast in your area.

Had hopes for this but the plain $9 old rabbit ears this was to replace work better. Could not find a position that picked up more than one or two over the air channels and even those were severely pixilated. If you are high on a hill and close to towers this may work but it is disappointing an amplified antenna doesn't work as well as passive rabbit ears.

We’re sorry to hear that you had trouble with the antenna and the app. First, it’s important to note that after connecting the antenna to your TV, a Channel Scan must be performed—your TV won’t detect any channels otherwise. This requirement is highlighted in both the Quick Start Guide and Owner’s Manual inside the package. Since every TV brand has its own method, we recommend checking your TV owner's manual for specific instructions. Regarding the app message, the app relies on connection to the FCC database, which has been experiencing frequent outages, thus not allowing the RCA Signal Finder App to operate properly.

Hello theSkegg, we’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing poor reception. Even in flat terrain, signal strength indoors can be significantly affected by materials in your home, nearby interference, and distance from broadcast towers. If you haven't already, we recommend checking the FCC’s DTV Maps at https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps to determine what channels are available in your area. Additionally, ensuring the antenna is placed as high as possible and near a window can make a big difference. If we can assist further, please reach out at https://www.rcaantennas.net/ask-engineer/ for personalized support.

I have tried putting this antenna in different places, it doesn’t seem to matter. It works ok for a bit, then cuts in and out making watching television impossible. I have downloaded the app “RCA Signal Finder”. It crashes every time I try to use it. Do not waste your money on this piece of garbage

Hello William - The signal strength at your location is one of the major factors on whether an antenna can receive a signal or not. Unfortunately there are some locations where it is difficult to receive your local broadcast signals due to a number of factors. Some of those factors include the surrounding terrain, whether or not you have a line-of-sight to the broadcast towers and even materials used in construction of your dwelling have an impact on the signal indoors. In most instances, if you can place your antenna high up, near a window, facing the direction of your local broadcast towers you generally have better luck getting a signal. Always remember to rescan for channels through your TV menu settings any time you move your antenna.
