After cutting the cord with cable, we decided to buy antennas for our televisions. We have purchased 5 and have had no problems with any of them. They also look better than the old fashion rabbit ear style.

Works as a tv signal. Very finicky with the weather. We have to move it each time the channel is changed. There are 2 channels that will only come in if placed in a certain area and someone stands near it...odd! Once you learn the exact placement in the window ( we have blinds and use them to help hold the antenna where it needs to be for each channel) then it gets easier. Its not 100% accurate each time though.

      Posted .

Hello Erin - The signal strength at your location is one of the major factors on whether an antenna can receive a signal or not. Some other influential factors when it comes to reception for your location include factors like the surrounding terrain, whether or not you have a line-of-sight to the broadcast towers and even materials used in construction of your dwelling have an impact on the signal indoors. In most instances, if you can place your antenna high up, near a window, facing the direction of your local broadcast towers you generally have better luck getting a signal. Always remember to rescan for channels through your TV menu settings any time you move your antenna. If you did not rescan for channels after relocating the antenna, any new and expected changes in channels/reception would not be accurate and would likely be much worse.

I can pick up all the local stations within 20 miles without use of booster amplifier, which I've yet to use. Long cord gives options for optimal placement.

Thought I would be able to get all that is available over the air. Not so. No PBS and no CBS. Tried different locations to no avail. Says it is amplified, but even plugged it doesn't make a difference.

This unit picked up most local channels, but not all. I would liked to have seen a built in USB as an option for power instead of the standard wall outlet plug.

Very good reception! I live in a rural community about 90 miles from a big city in any direction. But I get all of the local channels plus a few others. About 16 channels total.
