I purchased the item to view local channels without cable or satellite. Disappointed.

Posted .Hello Marie – Proper placement of the antenna is key: position the antenna as high as possible, ideally in or near a window facing the broadcast towers, and fully uncoil the cable. Then run a Channel Scan/Auto Program so the TV updates its channel list based on the new location. Different stations use different frequencies and power levels, so indoor reception/performance can vary. Items such as your surrounding terrain, the construction materials used in building your dwelling, or nearby electronics like wifi routers can affect the incoming broadcast signals inside your home. However, I live near a train track and there was interruption every time the train goes by.
