This particular case is able to carry the console in handheld mode. If you want to take your dock and cables with you, you'll need to get the bulkier version (which I personally think is too large).

It is easy to pack and stuff in my backpack and I do not have to worry about my switch getting broken. It also has a little flap that you could use to prop up.
