Still need a camera to charge the battery. This is just for a battery and cord but still needs to be plugged into a camera. Unsure of the purpose to not have a way to charge the battery directly without plugging into the camera.

not super happy with our Arlo batteries and/or chargers. They do not seem to hold a charge for very long, which has been annoying with our security system.

    Does not include charging station

Does not include a charging station, even though it shows the picture of it on the side of the box. Without a charging station, you will have to charge the batter inside the camera. That means taking the camera off its mount/location, charge the battery, and remount and re-adjust the angle. If you just need an extra battery, then this is for you. But if you expect to swap batteries without unmounting the camera, and charge the dead battery, you will be disappointed. It does not include the charging station.

    Problem

I bought a battery that comes with a charging cord. There is no place on the battery to plug the cord into. One has to take the camera down and charge it with the camera. This is silly. The product is misleading. To sell a battery and a charging cord together, it would be logical to assume they would go together. They don't, at least not without purchasing another camera, which also comes with its' own battery and charging cord. Rendering the product virtually useless.

Cheesy and expensive way to charge batteries

The charging philosophy from Arlo is expensive and archaic. But, it’s all you can do since the 4 camera kit doesn’t come with enough chargers for all cameras.

Will comment on use after I charge them. It makes no sense they sell the battery with the camera setup charged. But the replacement battery they sell uncharged? Scary.

I bought this thinking I would have an extra battery that I could charge and swap out when one camera battery got low. However, you cannot charge this battery unless it is in the camera or in an additional double-battery charging unit that costs an additional $60. There is nothing in the description that would make me think that this cord and battery would not allow me to charge it without the use of the camera or an additional charger.

Last a year max then you pay $50 for new one....you would think the company would offer a trade in allowance considering they know this problem.

Like the cameras but I am not able to reach and change the batteries. Batteries do not last very long. Wish I could afford to have them direct wired.

The rating is more based on the short life of the original batteries that came with the cameras. Hopefully the replacement lasts a bit longer.

    Misleading accessory

This accessory is misleading. The information available didn't clarify that an additional (expensive) accessory is needed in order to charge the battery outside of the camera. The pictures shows a chord (one would think a chord would make it possible to plug the battery in to the wall or USB to charge), as well as the charging accessory but nowhere is it explained that the separate charging station is required (that must be purchased separately). What is the point of having a spare battery if you still have to take the camera down and offline to in order to charge the battery?

The batteries need a separate charger or to be in a camera to be charged. If you want to purchase a charger it can add convenience.
