The need to recharge every few weeks is not bad but having to purchase new batteries after 4-6 months is crazy. Now this depends on how often you record. My original batteries stopped charging and I had to purchase new ones after a short 5 months. I would go with the wired version if you can. Or perhaps someone should tell me more. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Defeats the point of having and extra battery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We bought this extra battery to have in case one of ours dies, we didn't want to have one camera down while we charged. They made it seem like we could charge it and have it ready to go, you CANNOT charge this battery without the camera. The USB does not plug into the actual battery but into the camera itself. You will need to purchase a charging station if you want extra battery backups.

This thing runs about $45 but then to charge it you have to either put it in the camera or you have to spend another $55 for a charging station. I took mine back as I was not paying $100 just for a spare battery.

Useless

The extremal charger is not available anywhere and costs another $50+. So why have an extra battery laying around. I returned this item for a full refund.

Not a good package

If you want to buy a 2nd battery and have it charged their is a different package. They should drop the charger and the price if all you want Is a battery.

Three Strikes....
