Fun game. Online was bad at launch but has improved.

Red Dead is very entertaining and will keep you wanting to play more and more

I read all of the reviews, and bought this game for my nephew. He loves it!

I was skeptical at first. I'm not a hardcore gamer and almost never purchase the long story mode games with 60+ hours of gameplay. I may change my tune moving forward or at least just hope for more Red Dead in the future. This was amazing, I got lost in the world and found myself wanting to go back for more every day. It's been months and It still is not boring to me yet. I started a new game and am exploring even more now. Get this and have a blast.

Controls are hideous. I only managed to play for about two hours before becoming so frustrated that I quit and haven't touched it since. It took the interesting aspects of the original and made them mindnumbingly redundant. It is realistic, I will give you that, but if I wanted to be bored by waiting for my meal to cook, I wouldn't need a video game. Every minute detail of this game requires action on the players part. Remember grinding your teeth waiting for the cut scene of every animal you skinned? Prepare for 10x the hair pulling frustration of killing the animal, skinning the animal, butchering the animal, loading the butchered meat onto your horse, and later cooking the meat at your campfire to eat it to stay alive. Add to this, that you can only carry a few things at a time (did I mention it was mindnumbingly realistic), so you can't even stock up on supplies. You have to maintain health, stamina, and some other aspect that I can't remember by eating, drinking, taking the right herbs... I can't believe they didn't add trips to the outhouse. The combat is terrible, controls are all wrong and can not be changed. Realistic again.. if you get off your horse, each and every time, and forget to equip your rifle from the scabbard, you don't have your rifle. The equip is not a simple button push either, it is a multi-second time suck. I struggled through the first two hours assuming that it would be slow at first and would pick up later. I had just about fallen asleep playing when I finally made it to my first town. Great, lets wander around and check it out. While trying to perform some mundane action, I accidentally pulled my pistol, thanks to the bad control setup, and everyone commenced to shooting at me. Well, I can at least have some fun with this before getting killed and restarting, so I started shooting back. First guy shot me, and I dropped my revolver. Wow, that was realistic. Okay, I have a knife, so I went around trying to slash the attackers. At this point, I believe I was killed (It was eight months ago). Whatever happened, when the game "respawned" me, I didn't have my pistol. I went to were it dropped, but it wasn't there. So I went to the merchant, and a replacement cost 50x what I had in money. So, now my choices are restart completely or take on everything with my knife? Major fail in my opinion. It took all he tedious, realistic, but extremely boring aspects from the original and made them 10x as tedious and boring. Add in a game engine that felt like combat was an afterthought, and you have the recipe for most disappointing sequel of all times. I can not believe that I am the only person that hated it this much.

Played the first one and a nephew wanted it for Christmas. Got it for him.

This is a good game. The game itself is great and the graphics are better
