It takes some getting used to. And, quite frankly, the way it handles certain things like dealing with your inventory and item management, and character management are quite awkward. But the main thing about this game is that they are providing you with a large setting in which things are happening, many different small stories. And its up to you to come across them. Alot of these things may be things that you just stand there and watch like its a scene from a tv show. Other things will make you want to step in and intervene and change the outcome. There's TONS of them, and they are all done with an extraordinarily high quality. It makes this a world for you to explore.

The long awaited Successor to RDR

While the game took 8 years to make Rockstar knew that they had to give the fans a sequel worth just as much or even better than the original game. Especially now that games haven't even tried to compete with RDR2 it made sense for them to make a sequel. The western genre until the first game came out was an untapped pot of gold for such a game to compete with Red Dead Revolver. Rockstar has held the crown for 15 years and will probably never be usurped by any other game like it. Just like the original but in every way better RDR2 was almost a close GOTY for me when I played.

This is the most engrossing and immersive game I have ever played. The attention to detail is incredible. Well worth the price of admission.

This game simply puts you in the mind of Arthur Morgan. You become him. It's very immersive without killing everything in sight being the end game (unless you choose for Arthur to be that kinda guy). Small choices along the way determine the game play like this thing we all visit now and then...life. I love it!

The game flows so nicely sometimes you don’t realize you are in the middle of a task. I get sucked in when playing. I honestly can’t get over of realistic the graphics in this game are.

Red Dead Redemption was released nearly 10 years ago and still counts as my most favorite game. This new version of the Cowboy genre is more of the same goodness that I liked about the original. Playing the main story line of a bad man, robbing and shooting your way through the countryside and towns is fun and often hilarious. The game is wide open and each NPC reacts to your actions. In one instance I was down along a raging river hiding among rocks while the posse was on a cliff far above me. I took a pot shot at them and apparently spooked their horses. I soon had horses and men raining down on me as they all fell to their deaths. Unexpected and pretty funny.

The sequel to one of Playstation's best games is a non stop Wild West rollercoaster. If you like explosive story missions and plenty of side missions this is the perfect game.

It isn't very often when gamers pay the hefty $60 price tag and get more than they were expecting. But with Rockstar games like Red Dead 2, this is the case and we are very fortunate. Red Dead 2 has an expansive single player experience told with great storytelling and artistic detail. Rockstar always manages to tell an engaging story for a video game and it makes some movies look pathetic in comparison. For the visuals/audio, Red Dead 2 is entirely next level quality. Beauty is shown in the varied Western landscapes while the intricate detail is more noticeable in the town's/cities. If you're 17 or older, this game comes highly recommended.

I'm a fan of the Grand Theft Auto games but this was the first Red Dead game I've played. Figured I'd give a shot because it got great reviews and I know a lot of people that like it but it wasn't for me. The story and dialogue are entertaining but where it loses me is how slow everything is. Movement is slow, to pick up items is a chore, to run and go fast on your horse you have to constantly tap a button (I didn't mind this in GTA because at least you had cars where you could hold down the button). I know they wanted to make it a huge open world and have a lot of RPG elements, but for me everything loses it's fun by making it so realistic. I like video games to escape reality and only play the fun parts but in this game it just feels like your doing a bunch of chores to get to the exciting parts.

Rockstar hit it out of the park with this one. Highly immersive game from beginning to end. Great story, relatable characters, and tons of side content to do that manages to feel important instead of just busywork. It's so easy to just get lost in the world, getting sidetracked from whatever you were doing because some other interesting thing popped up. I played it for probably over 100 hours, and played every day for a solid month. Have not played the online mode, so I can't comment on that; however, I would highly recommend it for the single player alone.

    Stellar Graphics, Convoluted gameplay

First off being a huge fan of the first Red Dead Redemption, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this game, but I had to, and then wait some more, and a bit more, then, again, a bit more. Having already lost a little steam from the waiting game, I was certain that once the game was in my hands that I would once again have the exciting world of an outlaw cowboy at the onset of the 20th century at my fingertips. To a large extent I was not disappointed, the visuals are beyond simply impressive, they are near reality in a box. But a game is not good simply because of its A/V fidelity, it needs a lot more to reach that status. Overall the thing about this game that ultimately pushed me back to playing AC Odyssey was simply that there was too much gameplay with too little direction, and as near as I could tell, there was no way to return to the game, after a break, and find out what objective you left off at. This forced me to go back to an earlier save point and start the mission over. Frustrating for someone who is a casual gamer that does not always have/get to finish each mission before needing to stop playing. Overall I would say that Rockstar created a mind-blowingly beautiful, albeit convoluted at times, poorly directed game.
