In my first 10 hours or so playing Red Dead Redemption 2, I have to say that it lives up the hype, and it is worth the wait from the release of the first game. It looks amazing and is a lot of fun. There are a few issues with the game: long load times on a base Xbox One. The controls seem a bit sluggish/clunky. The menus are a bit cumbersome, your items in the radial menus are the same colors so it can be a little difficult to quickly differentiate between items without reading their description. The pause/start menu can also be frustrating. I think the menu should be able to be quickly completely closed by pressing start/menu. Instead depending on part of the menu you are in you must press B to back out of the menu on screen at a time.

This game never disappoints. I always find myself ready to start it up again whenever I finish a game. As a matter of fact, I feel like playing it RIGHT NOW because this recommendation has RDR2 on my mind.
(Well, maybe after the football games.)

Got this as a gift for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves it. He gets so into it. He said it’s like GTA but The Wild West version. From what I’ve seen it does look like that, he’s always stealing horses and starting fights at the pubs. He has a blast with it (he’s 22)

Loving this game. I'm a Madden, 2K, COD type of gamer. But this year I've fallen off of 2K and COD and was only on Madden until I swung by my friends house and played RDR2 and I felt like that 13-15 year old kid again playing a fun game like a GTA type vibe. Great game!!

Where to begin??? This game is as close to perfection as any game is ever going to get. The scenery is breathtaking. The acting is superb. The story is riveting. I can’t even imagine the amount of work and hours that went into making this. Instant classic. Just.... WOW

Excellent game I got halfway through but never finished. Re-bought it here at bb for s good price over black friday to ride off in the sunset once again. Also, cuz Hangman is AEW champion!

The game is amazing, so much to do. It's a huge upgrade from the original RDR which was already great. However, it's only 872p on Xbox One S, where all the other consoles achieve at least 1080p. If you're on 1080p or 4k and have a choice of consoles, I'd recommend the PS4 version over the One S unless you have an Xbox One X which looks and runs the best.
Minor, and often hilarious, glitches exist in RDR2 just like they did on RDR1, though I haven't encountered any game breaking glitches yet.
This is yet another Rockstar game I'm sure I'll play through multiple times. So excited it's finally here!

RDR2 elegantly captures the west in so many ways I didn't think possible. All the nuances, from feeding your horse to buying items, it all feels so much more real than any game I've played before. While tonally very different from GTA, it still has Rockstar's magic.

Having not been much aware of the original, I thought I’d give this a try. Graphics on the Xbox One X are amazing, and I didn’t have excessive load times or any graphics issues at all during gameplay. My issue came down to the gameplay itself. The control scheme, while adequate, had to cover too many activities and options, there was just too much to do. The biggest frustration for me was the length of time between missions or objectives-you spend a lot of time walking or riding your horse across the map for only a short time of action and it’s not always clear what you are actually supposed to do once you get there. The game gives you the option to do good things or bad but I haven’t gotten anywhere where there was an impact from your decisions ( maybe that’s the point?). The whole game is usually pretty good about giving you a tutorial/clues about stuff you need to do for a specific mission (like following someone or cooking recipes and making bait) but a lot of those side types of things I wouldn’t know to do without guidance and certainly am not mixing medicines or following a recipe for a specific type of food. Maybe as I play more these will become more intuitive but so far they feel more like a needlessly complex game mechanic that doesn’t add much to the story. Overall I was happy with the game—it’s an entertaining way to spend some time—but was glad I had gotten it on sale.

I've been really excited to see this game release after roughly eight years since the original game's release. Read Dead 2 looks great on current consoles especially on Xbox One X if you have a 4K display. It has been made known that the HDR effect is currently not that great and though I have a 2016 LG IPS panel TV it looks best with the HDR setting at around the 450 or 500 nit mark instead of the recommended 300 mark. The game does a lot of hand holding at the beginning but the story is great and engaging with nods to the first game with this being a prequel to the original Red Dead. Once you reach the first town the game opens up a lot and gives you a much better idea of how expansive the game really is now.

I purchased this game for my husband for Christmas along with an Xbox one. He really enjoys playing this game and our 7 year old daughter also loves playing this game along side him. It is something for them both to enjoy

Epic western classic with almost complete immersion in your environment and character. Hundreds of hours of dialogue for characters keep you engaged when wandering around town. This Game will keep you satisfied for dozens of hours.

What other game out there has a soundtrack that makes you feel like you are in all the timeless Western classics, graphics that are pushed to the limits, gameplay that is wholly satisfying, and side games where you can spend hours diving into? Yes, Red Dead 2 is that game. You will find that all of the side missions early on beg you to take the game slowly and enjoy this masterpiece and achievement in gaming. Rockstar has done it again and I cannot wait for the online component to launch.
With a main storyline that takes 70+ hours, you will be able to play this game for a long time to come. That means there is endless value to this game as there is with all Rockstar games.
