This is a review of my online shopping experience, not the game itself which is without a doubt one of my all time favorite games. The copy I received was damaged. Clearly it was a copy someone tried to open with a knife and cut the entire album art while doing so then they took it back for a return. I am absolutely infuriated Best Buy would sell this to me as a NEW copy which is what I payed for. This is absolutely unacceptable for a game collector such as myself. Now I have to make the drive of over an hour to the nearest Best Buy store to exchange for a properly sealed new product that I payed for in the first place. I’ve ordered many games from Best Buy before and never had an issue but this is 100% unacceptable they would try to sell this as a new product.

Spoiler Alert. After finally completing Red Dead Redemption I have these things to say. Other than a few glitches, there is absolutely nothing wrong with red dead redemption. For a game 10 years old the graphics, music and gameplay isn't even dated which I find amazing. We are just getting started. Red dead follows John Marston and his conquest to earn back his family from the US government, to do so he must hunt down his fellow gang members who betrayed him and left him for dead. The story starts when John is saved by Bonnie MacFarlane a local rancher, she helps John and soon John begins his epic conquest. In this amazing 10/10 story, John meets new people such as the Marshall, Seth, Irish, N.W Dickens and more, John continues to hunt down the gang members and eventually it leads him to Mexico. Mexico was a big part of the story and I was completely blown away by the music, story and gameplay there. Eventually John gets back to America and kills the last member of his gang. The ending half of Red Dead in my honest to god opinion, is the greatest video game ending half in video game history. John returns to his family and everything seems good, and spends quality time with his family, however the game makes the daring decision to kill Marston, yet somehow, they pull it off perfectly. Even for a game that is ten years old, online mode is still active and booming with fun. Hunting and shooting mechanics are flawless. The graphics for its age are again, amazing. The game excels at putting you in Johns shoes and making you feel like you are really there, in 1911. Even for a game that is ten years old, I found myself playing it more than every new game I have on my console. Rockstar games made a masterpiece, and I got it for ten dollars yet it beats games I've spent 100 dollars on. Strongly recommended for everyone. Warning you might cry.

I am loving this game. Personally enjoyed it more than RDR2. Great gameplay, good story, definitely worth the price. It’s an older game but it aged amazingly

One of the greatest games of all time returns in the best form that its ever been! From the sands of Gaptooth Breach to plains of West Elizabeth, Red Dead Redemption still soars as high as ever. Its a must play if you haven't already and if you have, what are you doing?! Go buy it!!

One of the few Western themed games that exists and one of the even fewer to excell. The music and sound design will surround you and spirit you away to a vast open land, albeit fittingly uninhabited, and to a time before phones and games- the world is dangerous here, but the player character is just as dangerous! The combat is satisfying, bloody, and just fun. The game uses a cover system that let's you duck behind walls, sand bag barriers, even trees if they're large enough! You can shoot guns out of an enemey's hand and they'll reach for the sky and run! Or try to scramble and pick their weapon back up again. Shoot them in the legs? Well they'll still crawl after you trying to shoot you! The physics engine used to have NPCs tumble to the ground and waver and wobble on their legs before actually falling over looks amazing! There are multiple settings to accommodate those who struggle with aiming, or are simply looking for a more cinematic/relaxed way to play. There are 56 main story missions and 18 fully fledged side missions. You will continuously run into events hapenning in real time (e.g. somebody just had their horse stolen and you could help them. Or somebody asking for a ride back into town, but when you go to help them, they try to steal your horse!) The story leans toward the main character wanting to give up a life of wrong doing, so for anybody who wanted to be a bad to the bone bad guy, that does conflict very harshly with the story even though you absolutely can do that. There is even an exclusive item that is only obtainable when you are extremely hostile in the game don't do good things for people. The honor system mentioned above is very simple, as doing good makes people like you as well as law men, while doijg bad makes people not like you- however gangs of outlaws can actually join you or you join them if you're bad enough! If you dont rush, this is easily a 60+ hour game. This copy of Red Dead Redemption also adds a whole entire second game though! Using the same map as the first game with the same combat mechanics, the main character is thrown into a spin off (not canon to the main game) where a never ending night sweeps the land, and all the weary souls who have died on the western frontier are now crawling up from beneath the Earth! Characters from the main game will appear in this game so I personally reccomend you play the main game first, but it is not at all necessary and you will not be missing anything. If looking to play casually i think the game takes about 6 hours to finish and 15 hours or more if you're exploring and looking to 100% This game is a 93/100!

Rockstar is very good at making open world games. They practically invented the modern genre. This one takes GTA to the old west. Fun.

With the recent PS5 upgrade, this is was a deal that couldn’t be missed. It looks incredible still and plays incredibly as well.

RDR1 was arguably my favorite game on the PS3. I just recently completed another playthrough of RDR2 since it had been a few years since I originally played it and it got me yearning for that RDR1 nostalgia. I'm so happy that this game got a refresh because it truly shines better than ever. The game plays effortlessly on the PS5 with a 60 fps frame cap. All the visuals have also been thoroughly reworked and that combined with the smooth frame rate has me rediscovering New Austin again! At first I thought that the $40 price tag was a bit steep for an old game but after having just finished the story again (first time since originally playing it on the PS3), I'd say it is well worth it. If you have not yet played RDR1 or RDR2, you are in for a massive treat! Pick them both up now for less than the cost of one when they were released! Can't wait for another installment in the distant future. 5/5!

I played Red Dead Redemption 2 first and loved it so I decided to give the first game a try. I was very pleased to see it was remastered and looked and played just as well. My game arrived to me in perfect condition and in a timely manner. I love how easy it is to shop on Best Buy's website.

Great game even all these years after the original releases date it still holds up. Would recommend

Although I agree that RDR2 is the superior game, the first Red Dead Redemption still holds a special place in my heart all these years later. 100% worth a play if you never have. The story and gameplay still hold up !

This game has aged very well graphically speaking. Playing this at 60 FPS on PS5 (via online title update) has been absolutely transformative. Undead nightmare is one of my all time zombies in video game experiences. Awesome to get the full package on one disc. No codes to redeem. This is a great title to keep on hand.

If you are a fan of Westerns or a fan of RDR 2, you need to play Read Dead Redemption. It came out before RDR2 a long time ago, so the graphics arent as crisp as the newer one. But for the time RDR was one of the best looking games and it still kinda holds up. If you finished RDR2 and want to find out what happens after, this is a must for you. I really hope Rockstar makes RDR3 and fully takes advatage of the power of the new consoles. Im sure GTA6 is going to be amazing! Cant wait and hoping for a RDR3!
