    THE BEST OF THE BEST

The single player mode has a great and strong story. The graphics and map are most impressive. That also pays off in multi-player. The multiplayer side is the hook. This is the game that other games will be based on in the future. If Halo had a lobby that was an open range in the world environment, everyone would have it. My son and I both bought the game and we've spent hours dueling and riding together against banditos and lawmen. MUST HAVE!!

    Red Dead Forever

Rockstar has made numerous best seller games (ie. GTA4) but Red Dead Redemption by far has out done any type of game to date that is so fun to play as a cowboy and who hasnt had a childhood dream of playing cowboy and Indians..well nows your chance the game mechanics are unbelievable considering the graphics and the AI and all the game factors that are put in and work almost seamless. The game takes place around 1910 when the wild west was almost gone and the east coast was more modern and your taken by train to New Austin which is Texas today and you play in the deep desert and snow cap mountains and green lush prairies and with the ability to run free by horse or train or stage coach this game is for sure a 10/10. So if you are no sure about this game due to age or gaming abilities it doesnt matter as the game allows for slow advancement your not forced into level after level nor do you have to accept anything except riding around for hours enjoying the view and practicing shooting with the "dead eye" ability which slows down the game and allows you to take aim with precision. So have fun and enjoy a game that wont come along again like this for a long to again.

    Best Video Game Ever!

To put it short, Red Dead Redemption is the best video game I have ever played. Forget any other game you can think of, Red Dead Redemption is the best. If you have a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 and don't have Red Dead Redemption, get it now! If you don't have a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 yet, get one to play Red Dead Redemption!

Game is great. Graphics are right on. So far the length is great. I have been playing for at least 5 hours and am still within the first part. I did get bogged down on the poker :) Overall excellent western game.

This game is amazing and you will be playing it endless for hours. This game recreates the Wild West and the story is great and the world is open. I have put 23 hours in the single player and I'm still at 55% finished.

The Beauty and Danger of the American Southwest

Red Dead Redemption is a really good use of the Grand Theft Auto formula adapted to a rural setting. The graphics are top notch, from the lined and dirty faces of the inhabitants of this savage land to the sprawling vistas. The horses are guided more than driven which gives them a sense of realism. The gun selection makes good use of the early 20th century setting. Mltiplayer has the same pros and cons as all online games. It really is as fun as the people you play with.

    Good Game

A good game, great storyline, different compared to most of the shooter games. The Wild West looks good on it. Even having a wife, a son, home, adds something to it. The downside is that there is not enough missions. Picked this up at a Midnight Launch, 12:01 on the 18th, and had run the missions by Wednesday night. Way too quick.

    Flawed but fun game

I'm enjoying the game a lot. Enough to forgive the flaws / mistakes that shouldn't be here. The game has tons of missions and options. Building your character is entertaining. There's problems with the spawning process in this game - bad guys or animals will spawn endlessly if you let them. A shame because it takes away from the realism of the game. And you can miss goals that can't be reworked if you don't know what to do - example -- I spent a couple of days trying to rent a room in town before I realized the game didn't know I'd done the pre-requisite. Worth buying though...

The game has yet to be released, but the promo was amazing. If the real thing is this good, then RDD is bound to become an Xbox classic. The storyline is enthralling and the graphics are wonderful. The player is given plenty of freedom to decide the storyline for themselves and given the room to travel through different areas. Overall, the game does not disappoint.

    Great Wild West Immersion

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Red Dead Redemption is a wild ride in the old west. From helping out the locals, taming wild mustangs, roping and riding and bringing in desperadoes and outlaws, Red Dead gets it right. The controls are simple enough to not be frustrating, but complex enough to cover a variety of tasks. For any who played it, this is a successor to Red Dead Revolver, but only in spirit. The main character, John Marston, and environments, New Austin, Nuevo Paraiso & West Elizabeth, are all new and wonderfully done.

This game is a very big and overwelming sanbox game which is fun and never gets old online, the campaign can get old fast but the multi-player is very fun and addictive! I really enjoy playing this game and reccomend it to all!

main storyline is very fun, and tons of other random encounters keeps the game interesting. Online portion is incredibly buggy, and not very good anyway. Single player mode however is incredibly fun, just wish storyline was more open, you are taken on a rail essentially in how the game plays out.

Overall im not sure how this game scored a 9.75/10 besides it being the first western game. I give it a 7/10 at best. Pre-ordered and I logged about 25 hours total playing it and made it to level 23 online. The graphics are amazing, but the story mode is short, and the online play is seriously the most easy repetitive leveling scenarios i have played in a long time. Online play is mini-games, not much else. Its almost like they spent all of the coding on graphics and ran out of room for actual game play. Maybe 20 guns total and 70% of the game map is desert, desert, and more desert, which means if you want to go from point A to point B you either warp or ride your horse and get chased by coyotes. Its a good rental but i traded my copy in for UFC 2010 which is amazing.
