I was hesitant to buy this latest Judas Priest disc. I'm a long time fan but the last few albums, although good, carry a similar theme throughout. Battle glory and triumph can only go so far but even though this new effort carries the same theme, it is an outstanding piece of heavy metal work. Great songs and solid musicianship from front to back. I was pleasantly surprised and can't seem to take it out of my stereo. Onward to battle!

One of the best Judas Priest album. Non stop, heart pounding of drums. Halford's voice is perfect. Highly recommended, old school fans will love this as will new fans listening for the first time. Redeemer of Souls is the best song.

This album is a great effort by Priest. Rob Halford sounds amazing, for the age he is. The music was great, and the lyrics were incredible.

    Solid Priest album, questionable mastering.

"Redeemer of Souls" is a Priest album in which the band pays homage to all of their musical eras. The opener "Dragonaut" as well as the track "Metalizer" roar with the heavier "Painkiller" era influence. However, tracks like "Sword of Damocles" and "Halls of Vahalla" harken back to classic Priest tracks such as "Stained Class" or "Metal Gods" with harmonized guitars and sing along choruses. Unfortunately, the whole album is mastered with the instrumentation turned up very high. The result is a loss of some of the dynamics in the songs. That, coupled with the loss of some of the dynamics in an aging Rob Halford's voice, leads to an album that feels very flat at times. Don't get me wrong, the production works for some of the heavier tracks, but I can't help but feel that some of the more throwback sounding tracks could have benefitted from throwback production. It is unfortunate when the factor is holding the music back on an album has nothing to do with the music itself. Still, this album is a worthy successor to "Angel of Retribution" in 2005, and has shed much of plodding, subdued instrumentation that plagued their previous effort "Nostradamus".

Strong effort from one of heavy metal's founding fathers. Judas Priest doesn't miss a beat with this record. Richie Faulkner more than makes up for K.K. Downing's departure, both on guitar and the energy he brings to the table. Rob Halford's voice, although not able to hit the higher notes with ease like he once could, is still great. Not a couple of hits with fillers, this record is strong from top to bottom.

If you loved the "Painkiller" album then this album will strike you as just as good or even better. This is one SOLID release from a band 40 years into their careers. Ritchie Faulkner brings a new found sence of excitement to this band and Glen Tiptons playing. As usual Mr. Metal God- Rob Halford still has the voice he had 20 years ago. Real standouts on this album...........WHOLE DANG THING!

Priest returns in top form, Richie Faulkner's first studio work replacing KK Downing is a breath of needed fresh air for the band. If you like the old school Priest sound, buy this now. Halford's pipes are amazing, Tipton/Faulkner's riffs are immediately catchy, and the super tight Hill/Travis rhythm section is intense. Overall, this could be the best Priest ever.

It has been a while since I bought a Judas Priest Album and this did not disappoint the guitars are screaming just what I expect and Rob can still scream and has great range. The songs are heavy yet have catchy hooks. I really enjoy the new songs and have been playing it constantly. It has also got me excited to go see them on their new tour.

Having recently seen Priest in concert, went out the next day and bought this and about wore it out for the 1st 2 weeks. Very reminiscent of the classic 80's British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance Priest. Not a throwaway track on the whole disc. Highly recommend!

Killer record from start to finish.the priest may have one of there finest records to date with the only filler track being metallizer. They seem to have tapped into the different eras of priest on this one and it works well. Highly recommended to fans

Yet another epic album from the metal gods themselves. Great guitar work, classic rock lyrics and plenty of energy. Been listening to Priest since 1980, this album just reminds me why they are one of my all-time favorite bands.

The lead guitar and vocals are very good. I can't believe how well Rob Halford can still hit the highs. This could be one of their best all around albums .. every song is solid, and there are a couple of gems in Hell & Back and Secrets of the Dead.

Priest has put together another awesome display of musical genius. Blistering guitar, driving bass, thundering drums and no sound pierces the air like Rob Halford nailing a high note.
