I love this new remarkable with color. I have the remarkable 2 and it a great device too. This new one was easier to set up and writes smoothly. I did notice a slight refresh or screen blinking at times when I’m writing. I will keep working with it for a while to see if it improves. The colors are sort of muted. So far I have no complaints. I only upgraded for the color option, which I like.

This is the second reMarkable that I've owned and highly recommend.
The pencil upgrade, storage, weight, and slim version of this reMarkable is on point.
Fits snuggly in my backpack for jobs.

I agree that the overall paper like experience is great, I like the larger version as well. However, the colors are not as vibrant as commercials and ads would dictate. It's not deal breaking, and it's nice to have color on the device (it does make a difference), just not as colorful as I thought it would be.

It’s really rewarding after 30 years of using the keyboard, to go back to writing by hand. I’m old enough to have been taught cursive and it’s just such a joy.

Hi Sam, thanks for sharing! That's a wonderful sentiment. There's a unique joy in reconnecting with handwriting after so many years of typing. It's great to hear that you're rediscovering the pleasure of cursive.

Better work flow and no wasted paper!

The Paper Pro has greatly enhanced my work flow. I have several forms that I have to fill out on a daily basis which eventually get thrown away after they are reviewed. Now, I can load the PDFs for the forms on my Paper Pro and fill them out on the tablet. I can then email them directly to others for review. I can save a copy of the completed forms, if needed, or just erase them. No more wasted paper!

Good Notebook alternative. I expected it to replace all my notebooks and it does. Handwriting to text is difficult if you don't have perfect handwriting but overall good and professional

I really like the organization of this. Once I figured out how to do files and folder, I use this both in my business and personal life. It’s been great! I would like if my “to-do”s from specific folders could all roll up to one list.

I bought this for my wife who is constantly writing down shopping lists to taking notes for for school and her bible studies and to be honest at first I didn't get what special about this thing until i started messing around with it and saw the functionality it had. Its actually pretty darn cool if you're using it for school. You can separate notes and give them title names so that on the main hub you can differentiate them for instance one could be for History class and another for English and once you click in it you will have pages of all the notes you took for that specific subject. Its like having an endless amount of journals in the palm of your hand. You can also highlight and color code thing which is really neat. My wife loved it as a gift.

Interesting Upgrade from Remarkable 2

Coming from the prior black and white remarkable generation still for sale, im hard pressed to see this as a valuable updgrade. From a pros standpoint, this device is much faster and the extra screen size makes it more comfortable. From a cons, the software is very buggy requiring multiple restarts every week and the way the color refreshes the screen to display is slow and jarring. I fully recommend the Remarkable 2, this one may need another generation to be worthwhile.

Coming from the remarkable 2, this is a nice upgrade with a bigger screen and now with color. Great for note taking and reading PDFs. I will say the pen writing experience is different compared to the remarkable 2. Would recommend trying it out before purchasing

This is phenomenal for those with ADHD and/or those who take a significant amount of notes. I did have to exchange my first RMPP after the screen developed dead pixels but the exchange was seamless.

Falling Far Short of Perfection, but Still Cool

It's a shame I have to go so hard on this review, because I love remarkable, and I LOVED my remarkable 2. The Paper Pro has a lot going for it. The bigger screen, nice craftsmanship, and, the big one, the color screen, were all the reasons I was excited. B however, it falls short it's really upsetting ways:
1. The marker was totally redesigned, making the user reliant on a battery-operated marker.
2. The marker tip is a lot slicker on the display, which makes it more difficult for me to control my strokes. Hate it.
3. Can't use the $150 marker you bought for your remarkable 2. Dumb and feels like a cash grab.
4. The screen colors feel a bit pixelated, which is an adjustment, but not a big deal.
5. The backlight, which is a flagship feature of this new device, is virtually useless except on it's two brightest settings.
6. It does not tolerate standard adaptive chargers--at least mine doesn't. So, plugged into my phone charger, I see the battery draining still.
7. The text seems more pixelated than the remarkable 2 when viewing side-by-side, despite the higher resolution in the specs.
8. Finally, with an okay cover and a new marker (to replace my newly useless one), the three-piece bundle sets you back over $800 after taxes.
For all it's flaws, the tablet certainly showcases some neat innovations in e-ink tech, and I hope they continue to improve on it.
Frankly, I will still use it, because I like the technology and the ethos being the brand, but the marker is trash, and I hate how it feels. I want the old one back.
