A utterly wonderful remake to one of my favourite games ever made. The campaign never overstays its welcome, the combat and exploration are perfectly balanced too.

I bought a 2nd copy as a gift for someone, so I do genuinely like this game. This review is from the perspective of someone who grew up and played the original. I was excited to play this Remake, and this game did deliver. But unlike the PS1 version there are some differences I honestly didn't like. Some enemies from the original are gone (spiders), some enemies are noticeably different (but that's a personal nitpick), the A and B scenarios are not very different at all (to the point of contradicting each other-even moreso than the original), and for some reason Claire looks jarringly different (many characters in this series go through similar big changes-but still). There's no Exteme battle or merc mode, but there is a extra survival mode where you play the game through as people who COULD have lived, but didn't through the main story. Aiming is also a bit inconsistent as enemies seem to take random damage. It's done for the sake of realism when dealing with zombies, but honestly it can get more annoying than scary. It's still worth a playthrough, but honestly I feel like this game needs the "Director's Cut" treatment, that could easily fix a lot of the problems and complaints out there. It could probably easily jump to a perfect 5 for me if it did.

If you ever played the older resident evil games, than you will feel right at home ! Brings back old memories! Also could be a great start if your a new comer as well !

I bought this game not knowing much about it. It was rated high by individual and gaming sites , so I thought I give it a chance. I have not been disappointed.

RESIDENT EVIL 2 IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE! EXCELLENT GRAPHICS! CAN'T COMPLAIN! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PARTICULAR VIDEO GAME! SO AFFORDABLE IN PRICING! OWN IT:)

Rebuilt from the ground up but still fun and engaging like the original. Older fans might complain and say the original is better but this is a must buy for the series.

Tight gameplay, an interesting story, and amazing visuals. A true horror feast.

This sets the benchmark for remaking a beloved property. great game in its own right. couple that with significant nostalgia and this game is one of the year's best.

This is what a remake should be like. The game looks great and is scary. An absolute steal for Black Friday at $15 in my opinion. It’s worth full price!

Bought it because of the nostalgia takes me back to the PlayStation days but with better graphics

This is the best updated game to date it is close enough to make you feel like you are playing the original and new enough to keep you guessing and on edge great game.

Resident evil games are thrilling and exciting My husband likes this type of game He has played all the previous ones I’m sure he will like this one too

It's taken me a month, but finally got thru one story.. took me 7.5 hrs.. if you just want one playthrough, it's worth it.. but there is definitely replayability here

I wasnt able to get the deluxe edition but I was finally able to at least get it and I'm happy I did have the original on ps1 and it's so much better now

This is a top to bottom remake of the 1998 PlayStation 1 survival horror classic that gives the game a new life with top notch graphics and sound, and tight gameplay.

This is the perfect blend of the classic resident evil scares with the more tighter action controls from Resident Evil 4. The polish and graphics are amazing.

This is a wonderful reimagining of Resident Evil 2. All the changes made are for the better and make this a fresh but familiar game worth experiencing multiple times.

i am obsessed with this franchise... after playing the first ones (0 and 1) this had and amazing new look as the remake will not disappoint.
