    Capcom is killing it with their games recently, this gem is tense, scary, full of action, puzzles, and nifty unlockables, it's basically everything you want from a survival horror title. Whether you're a newcomer or series veteran, you owe it to yourself to play this game. One of the contenders for Game of the Year, easily.

    So, highly subjective here, but as nice as this game looks and feels it just isn't what I was looking for from an RE2 remake. It feels too much like RE4 and loses a lot of the survival horror by-way-of-adventure-game style of the original, which has the unfortunate cascading effect of making the ridiculousness of the back half of the game feel even more discordant. I'd have much preferred something closer to the Gamecube remake of RE1 that was rereleased on PS3/4 a few years back: optional tank controls, fixed cameras, new puzzles and a nice clean up on the graphics.

    I have played nearly all mainline Resident Evil games, and I must say that this remake is my new favorite. They expertly recreated the feel of the old games while bringing in great quality of life changes that the newer games provide. I highly recommend this game, even if it's your first Resident Evil! (Plus, there's free DLC!)
