I don't remember much about the original game, because it was so boring with clunky controls that caused me not to complete the game. This game fixes everything that annoyed me about the original. The controls are insanely better and the lighting and visuals are insane in places. Great game.

It’s great it’s honestly a perfect remake and pays homage to the og resident evil 2 but with better gameplay better enemies and even better atmosphere. If your a fan of horror games in general this is a must pickup I loved it!

This was a really well-done remake of the original. The engine this runs on makes the game look so realistic and gritty. Great replay value as well, considering that there are two characters to choose from, as well as the order you play them in have some differences.

Being a fan of the original Resident Evil 2, I was a bit skeptical of adding the over the shoulder perspective from RE4. Well, I was wrong - the updated gameplay and story make this remake superior to its source material. Action/adventure game of the year material right here.

I played the original Resident Evil 2 on the PS1 and this new game is just what it should be. The tone and the aesthetic is all high grade and if you are a fan of you need to buy this and play it asap. It's tough in some spots but if you played the original you will adjust to it in no time.

Never has a return to an old game felt so fresh and revitalized. Resident Evil 2 is a warm welcome home, back into the throes of old-school survival horror, but with a facelift that actually provides youth to the experience. From the opening moments, RE:2 looks and feels great. Like a whole new game. This blend of old and new is extremely successful throughout both character’s campaigns, each playthrough being brief enough to warrant wanting to do the next, and neither are too repetitive, even when exploring the same areas. Puzzles and map design are back to basics, which actually provide replayability, and the game is updated with a slew of new twists and turns that will keep old and new players on their toes with terror. This is truly a blueprint for how old games should be remade for the new generation of gaming. And it’s truly worth every bit of time and money - for both, players and the publisher.

This was my first fime playing a resident evil game, and now I wanna play the whole series! (except 5 and 6 of course) This game has an amazing story and is freaking scary as well! Would recommend 100%

probably of the best remakes that was ever made. lots of replayabilty as there different characters and new scenarios and modes unlock once you've completed the game. great atmosphere and the sound is really good, especially you play with a headset. highly recommended!

If you’re a Resident Evil fan this is a must own. Especially if you’ve played the original for PlayStation 1. They did an amazing job remastering this already great game. One of my favorites and now this was a breath of fresh air. Replay value is high.

For all the old school resident evil fans. This game is the perfect combination of the old style survival horror game feel with updated graphics and controls. Really an awesome game. I hope they remake resident evil 1 and 3 the same way. I would buy them in a heart beat.

This is the perfect remake. Graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is fun, controls are tight. You get 4 campaigns (Leon A, Leon B, Claire A, Claire B), and an extra game mode (The 4th Survivor). They are also adding DLC for free in February. So for the price, this is a great game.

This game is a complete reimagining of the original game. The combat follows the over-shoulder look of RE 4 and following games in the franchise. It looks great, plays well and has great atmosphere!! If you're a fan of horror games or RE games in general, this is a must buy!

Having played the original RE2 back in the day, I’m honestly shocked at what a difference this remaster makes. We’ve certainly come a long way graphically, and the story elements are also well enhanced too. A classic game given a transformative and beautiful upgrade!

Have been following the RE series since 1998. Got to say that this is one of the best in the series in terms of getting me the thrills and chills for that original survival horror I experienced back in the good old days. I have just finished the Leon mission--didn't invest excessive amount of time on it, played the normal difficulty and utilizing the save & load. I particularly like the atmosphere and the tweaks and changes of those classic monsters from the original sequel. The fixed-shoulder view is awesome--you always get that creepy feeling of the surrounding. Also, you have very limited resources until the very end so make sure you don't waste a lot of ammo on something that you don't have to defeat. The only thing I think it could improve is the cut-scenes. It's a little bit too short and undramatic (as compared to the original sequel). Overall, it's a fantastic remake that surpassed my expectations.

This remake surpassed my expectations. Capcom nailed nearly everything in this remake, from the characters themselves, the graphics and their realism, the monsters and their behaviors, the memorable settings of the RPD Station, sewers and lab, and the real horror factor that leads you to feel genuinely scared or at least tense during most of the game. Mr. X, the immortal Tyrant that follows you throughout much of the game, was one of the best things a Resident Evil game has ever implemented. Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield are as great as ever, being both relatable and awesome in their own ways (and perhaps the best characters this series ever had). This remake is exactly what makes Resident Evil what it is, and sets an incredible gold standard for RE and game remakes in general. Highly recommended to anyone who loves this series, as well as new players getting into it - horror fanatics especially.

I never played the original game. So I went into this blind and I can officially say this game made me love Resident Evil. I played RE4..good. I played RE5 with a friend...meh, but fun with friend. The game doesnt feel like a chore even with objectives laid out in a puzzle like fashion. The game is atmospheric and intense. Boss fights are kind of frustrating due to the tank like control system. The shooting is fantastic for the scary atmosphere though. The most praise I can give is it doesnt out stay it welcome. A solid 7-10 hr adventure going in blind.

Its a fun, scary, survival and nostalgic game. So much to do and a good story. Leon and Claire Redfield are amazing characters. It tooks forever to get my hands on a physical copy because its sold out almost everywhere

This game is for those people who love being scared. This is a survival horror game which means you need to be able to save resources and survive in tense situations. It’s got fun gameplay, a great story, and excellent cheeseburger graphics.

There’s so much to say about this game but if you’re a horror fan or just a fan of the original game. It’s a very faithful remake with tons of new content and story pieces. Also this is one of the best looking games on the system.
