If you played the Resident Evil 2 remake and thought that was excellent you may need to temper your expectations. While I have not yet completed the game the good chunk of it that I have played through isn’t nearly as engaging or polished as RE2. While the play mechanics are essentially identical something just doesn’t feel right about it. The story, enemies, dialogue, and level design are all a step backwards. It’s hard to quantify but I’ll list some gripes below: -When a zombie is downed, you shouldn’t have to knife it 15 times only to have it still get up and bite you. -Clearing an area is almost a waste as if you advanced the story and trigger some event, magically there are more zombies than in that area. -The Nemesis character’s physics is just stupid. It can essentially warp around like Superman but a flimsy door will keep it at bay. This leads to a lot of trial and error and frustrating moments to find the exact method that the developers want you to follow in order to advance.

Had high hopes for this one after 2019's Resident Evil 2 Remake, but unfortunately, this one did not live up to my expectations. Way too much content from the 1999 original is just gone here and there doesn't appear to be plans to add single player content to the game through free patches or even paid dlc. For just the single player in this package, I'd definitely recommend waiting for a sale/price drop. Single player alone is good, but not worth the $60 plus tax price. $40 or $30 is likely how much the single player should've cost alone. You do get a multiplayer game included, Project Resistance, in this purchase, but I personally had no interest to play that and it does not factor into my review. I bought this for the single player given how good Resident Evil 2 Remake 2019 and Resident Evil 7 2017 turned out. Those games also each received extra single player content, especially Resident Evil 7. Try harder and don't cut so much content from your next "remake," Capcom.

Might be on short side of things but is a joy to play and repeat.

Graphics are amazing but no where near as good as the first one . Way too short ,completed in a day and didn't even rush it ,no puzzles or anything to do that gets you thinking . Feels like it was rushed. Nemesis is no where near as intimidating as the tyrant either .
