I was thouroughly impressed with this new iteration of Resident Evil. It is dark, has a strong feeling of dread and helplessness and plenty of scares. The new first person view helps and makes the scares a lot more personal. Playing it in PSVR is the best possible way to play but be ready for motion sickness.

Picked this up day 1 for the thrills of the PSVR experience. I was not disappointed. The VR experience combined with the first-person perspective of RE7 has both returned the franchise to its roots and added something new. Creepy environments, 3d audio, decent story...all add to something easy to get lost in.

Resident evil in virtual reality. Resident evil is back with a vengeance. To be able to play this on PlayStation VR is absolutely incredible and terrifying. This is just like the original resident evil in gameplay and inventory management. I would highly recommend this game for anyone who likes scary games.

As if a new, first person 'Resident Evil' title wasn't enough, Capcom outdid themselves by tossing in a Playstation-exclusive VR mode, free of cost. The gameplay is clean, the environments are terrifying, and the looming evil is jarring - an awesome new entry in the series, and a must-have for fans of RE.

We play this game on our PlayStation VR and the 360 degree graphics and reality world is so amazing. It is so funny to watch my husband jump and scream while playing this game due to the thriller portion of it. We are big resident evil fans and this game is definitely one to add to your game collection.

Back to basics for one of the best horror series. Glad to see they tried something new and it paid off

First time RE series to go first person view that isnt the Survivor series, really good n scary game.

It definitely got my heart racing...they did return to horror feeling in this game and took away the action that the last three games had, giving you a feeling of dread when exploring the Baker residence. I'm a huge Resident Evil and this game had me on the edge of my seat, if you like horror and looking for a good story, Resident Evil 7 is your answer.

One of the first PSVR titles still holds up. With plenty of content and an amazing atmosphere, this is a must have for your PSVR library. While the game does not utilize the Move controllers, the DualShock allows for accurate controls. This, and some design elements, make this game feel like it has one foot in the world of PSVR, and one foot out, but that doesn't detract from the overall quality and experience.

I was cautiously optimistic about this game, but came in with almost zero expectations. Still Capcom floored me by creating an atmospheric and; at times; terrifying game. Definitely the surprise of the year, and combined with the PSVR this is a title I will keep returning to. would recommend.

This game has a lot of mixed feelings. But those boys and girls around for the first Resident Evil 1 game would in a hypothetical sense concur this game successfully generates from it's roots which made it special. Not to say it doesn't tie into the series (you find out) however the graphics, and presentation are stellar. You get scared, and yes I'm older and can be spooked (not that old). Jack has some of the funniest sayings in the book (in a macabre way) and you just never know......... so Beside mass multi million dollar website agendas, burnt fans because Leon isn't wearing his coat this is some down right pure Resident Evil 7... I've games for 35 years of my life... If you like horror, Silent Hill, Puzzles you won't go wrong... price to high??? Wait for a price drop.... some say it's too short but in my gaming space and time continuum games take double the allotted speed rushers..... GET IT you won't REGRET if you want a longer game with a shorter budge wait until later my friends!!!! Just tell Jack I said Hi

This is a great game. It is creepy, and has made me jump out of my seat more than a couple times.

This is one of the creepiest games in a while and one of the best Resident Evil games since RE4.

Horror movies really mess with me, both psychological ones and gory grindhouse fare. This game is BOTH. Make no mistake, it feels and plays like Resident Evil but with a more grpahic sort of horror angle. I can barely play a few minutes of this at a time before I have to shut it off. BUY IT.

I give 4 stars simply because it's not entirely like the originals, but it's still fun and worth the time. It's like The Evil Within with elements of the originals. i.e. clue and items collecting, cinematics, etc. Also, it's scary and worth trying on the VR. With the VR it would probably be automatically 5 stars for play experience, but I'm biased because I was expecting something similar to the classics. I'm still grateful for the direction Capcom is taking.

I’ve played this game entirely in VR mode and it’s beyond scary, a most have for any PSVR owner

This is truly a rebirth for the Resident Evil franchise. The first person camera helps give this game a more tangible and immediate sense of horror, which is far less campy than previous games in the series. It is commendable how self-contained this game is. It tells an intriguing story of an unfortunate family, which is almost completely separate from the RE universe except for a few minor callbacks for long-time fans. I think this is a great product for new fans because it doesn't require prior knowledge but at the same time has some subtle fan service for those that have been there since the beginning. This game is also great for New Game Plus, as it provides nice incentives for re-playability, and the DLC provides a nice swath of different game modes which are all rewarding in their respective ways. I absolutely recommend this game to any fan of horror games or anyone who just wants to enjoy a good story with some fun puzzle solving and first person shooting.
