Not a bad game if you get it on sale, not as good as some

This game is NOTHING like the old ones. It's terrible. I hated it.

I was only able to get about half hour into the game and it gave me a massive migraine to the point I almost threw up. Dont know if it was the way the screen moved or what caused it but this game is not for you if you are susceptible to getting headaches from games. This was not even in the VR mode.

Played both the demo and a wee-bit at a local convention, and I must say that I have not been this excited for a Resident Evil game in a while! To the one who left a negative review, unfortunately it seems like they are not veterans of the series. Yes, they switched it up to a first-person POV but they went back to the original horror feel that made Resident Evil so fantastic to the point of where you see exactly why it managed to hold its own next to other popular series like Silent Hill, Parasite Eve and the arcade demographics of House of the Dead. You are left vulnerable. You don't have many options. You are naked and don't even have the knowledge of an Umbrella member or military/police officer knowledge. If anything, they went ALL the way back to basics and that's a huge part of what makes this game so darn amazing. It's TERRIFYING because of how naked you feel and with the addition of VR, it'll have goosebumps creeping up and down your arms, the hair standing stiff and your heart literally racing from start to finish. The jump scares make sense and spread out at a decent and reasonable distance, but the part that makes this game such a beauty is the fact that the creators purposely abuse what we THINK is going to happen and does the exact opposite. To put it bluntly, this game will give you anxiety and have you guarding your doors and windows.

This is a great addition to the RE series, after a few mediocre(to be kind) titles. This in my opinion is as good as resident evil 4 which to me is the best of the series. The addition of VR allows for a second playthrough with some blood pressure raising jump scares. in VR the controls could have been improved but its still a fun playthrough and does not seem like a game addition that was included to add product value like other games. overall game play brings me back to the fluidity of RE4, storyline was great, boss battles were fun, and the game just works and has a few easter eggs as most capcom games do that made me want to replay it a few times over(5 so far) , I dont know if it is the fact that since RE4 the games have just been sub-par that makes this one so good but if you are new to the series this game is worth buying and should make you want to buy RE4 and the HD remaster of the first one for PC or even 5 or 6, they are still fun games that are usually well discounted on best buy and worth buying at the given price. disclaimer: i am over 40 years old, been playing games since i was 12 and own all of the resident evil games(except racoon city and umbrella corps, rubbish spinoffs IMO), watched hundreds of horror movies and dont get scared easily or at all, but in VR when they are literally in your face it is taken to another level and never had my heart beating so fast and literally made me jump out of my seat and feel like i wanted to throw a real punch at the person in front of me on the screen, great fun.
