Resident Evil hasn't been this tense and scary since the original release over 20 years ago. A fantastic soft-reboot. Fantastic graphics, great sound design, and a perpetual sense of dread make this a fantastic experience. Playing it with HDR on my 4K TV makes it look so good it almost seems real. Not for the faint of heart or easily scared, but an engaging experience all around. Highly recommended.

I have not yet tried this game. It was bought for my adult son. I do have high expectations for the first VR game from the Legendary Resident Evil series.

After many failed attempts at revitalizing the horror genre, Capcom and Resident Evil finally got it right. Using a first person perspective to explore the environment gives you a sense of anxiety not generated by previous entries to the franchise. The common resident evil puzzles are ever present. If you really want a sense of terror, play on hard where saves are few and far between. My only gripe would be the relatively short campaign which could have been stretched just enough but maybe it would have seemed fleshed out. All in all, a good game to re-experience (pun intended) the horror of PT, Amnesia, etc.

I rarely find that I want a game badly enough to pay the $60 or so they cost when they're new, but I'd heard that the developers had taken the franchise back to it's survival horror roots and I had to give it a go. This game will have your skin crawling and your nerves shot in no time, and will give you a healthy paranoia about the things you hear go bump in the night. Definitely worth the play.

I've been playing Resident Evil since I was a kid, and still enjoy playing them to this day. With that being said, Resident Evil 7 does a great job returning to the roots of the first title with you feeling alone and dreading what's around the corner. If you're a horror fan and love the old titles then you'll absolutely love this game. Also, an awesome experience in VR if you have one as well!

The only bad thing I can say about this game was that it was to short lol. I still put a lot of hours into this game but man did I want more play time.

The game is awesome, it has a creepy vibe to it but it makes it more entertaining.

Good lord this game is tense. Not like any other RE game you have played, since the first person view removes a lot of your safety and visibility you are used to. Great creepy atmosphere and it keeps you on your toes. If you are having trouble or feel it is too much change, get past the first hour or so and it starts to be a lot like a Resident Evil game with zombies and creatures.

This game has a very good story behind it. Has very good graphics and gameplay.

The game starts off already setting up an unsettling atmosphere from the start, one that will keep you on your toes and makes sure you're never 100% safe with where you are. The combat system is fair. Wish there was more replay ability as there was in the demos of the game where there were multiple endings and how it requires prior knowledge to get such endings. All in all a great game

This game is great! Actually what I like! It has a great story,it just like watching a scary movie while you playing this game ~we have so much fun

This game was certainly a different style of the franchise we all know and love, but it's easily one of the scariest and best quality games I've played in a long time. Every turn down a dark hallway or corridor makes your heart race and it plays like a legitimate horror movie. Without going into too much detail or something spoilers, I will just say you will not be disappointed!

Tried playing this with the vr it is way too scary very fun and entreating game

Resident Evil 7 is different than other Resident Evil games, but in a good way. It's packed with jump scares and intense moments. A positive step for the franchise.

I love a good, scary game. The first part of this game is the most terrified I think I have ever been while playing a game. I don't typically scream or have a change of heart rate while playing video games. This one did both of those things to me. Being a first person game makes it all the more realistic.

Great to play on the playstation vr would like it to be easier to find ammo

The Resident Evil franchise was getting pretty stale and ridiculous, no longer was it about horror and survival, but it was more about over the top action. Fans were clamoring for a return to horror and they got it in RE7. It is now first person, but this is definitely a return to the horror and survival roots. It is actually even scarier than the old games which are pretty tame by today's standards. This game is disturbing and legitimately creepy. Unfortunately I did not care much for the last third of the game which has you switch locations and the horror dies down. Still a very good game and worth it.
