The game was pretty solid! The atmosphere and gameplay in the first section is amazing and it does fall a little bit in the second half, but it’s still a pretty great experience. No bonus content in the game does drag it down next to the price tag though.

This was a great mix between RE4 and RE7. Introducing new characters can be a tough ask but Grace is a likable character and the actress did a great job. The only disappointing thing was the ending to an extent

Please note: This review posting is unrelated to the game, as i have not been able to play it , despite securing a copy on release day. This review is solely because BestBuy requested me to leave a review. Secured copy on release day. Case and game arrived damaged and unplayable (see pictures) due to the negligence of BestBuy and/or the shipping company. RE9 was returned to a store to be offered a gift card/store credit (unacceptable) because the item was opened, despite no way or knowing the disc itself was cracked and unplayable. Resident Evil 9 has also been sold out almost EVERYWHERE since release, and scalped above MSRP through BestBuy by third party sellers like AntOnline (example, not disparaging), rendering my Giftcard useless in reordering the product i purchased. This is the second time this has occurred within a year (also received a cosmetically damaged copy of Expedition 33 that i tolerated, because like RE9 it was sold out everywhere) and i will no longer be shipping products to my home, as BestBuy's care; concern; or respect to the customer has become nothing short of abysmal.

Resident Evil Requiem delivers an exemplary technical showcase on the PS5 Pro, leveraging the console’s enhanced capabilities to set a new benchmark for the series. The game offers two primary modes: a fidelity mode that targets 4K resolution at 60 FPS with ray tracing enabled, incorporating advanced reflections, global illumination, and shadows for markedly improved environmental realism and atmospheric depth. This mode maintains a near-locked 60 FPS with only minor dips in demanding scenes, while utilizing the updated PSSR upscaling technology—the first title to implement this refined AI-driven solution—for exceptional image quality that approaches native 4K clarity with reduced artifacts and enhanced detail preservation. In the performance-oriented mode, ray tracing is disabled to achieve up to 120 FPS (averaging around 90 FPS), supported by VRR for smooth gameplay on compatible displays. Although this sacrifices some lighting fidelity, the visuals remain impressive, with higher internal rendering resolutions and stable frame pacing that surpass the base PS5 experience. Capcom’s RE Engine optimization ensures consistent performance across both modes, with minimal stuttering, effective shader management, and superior character rendering that benefits from the Pro’s additional GPU power. Digital Foundry and other analyses describe the PS5 Pro version as brilliant, highlighting transformative ray-traced effects and overall technical maturity that make it the premier platform for the title. This edition exemplifies how the PS5 Pro elevates survival horror through precise, hardware-tailored enhancements without compromise.

From the very first moment, the game pulls you into a suffocating atmosphere. Every creak, shadow, and distant sound feels intentional. The environments are beautifully disturbing—abandoned structures, dimly lit corridors, and eerie outdoor areas that keep you constantly on edge. It’s not just about jump scares; it’s psychological, slow-burning fear at its best. I give it a 10 out of 10

Die hard RE fan since the original classics on the Playstation. Reqiuem feels like a natural evolution of the series high points - combining survivial and action horror elements seemlessly. The Rhodes Hill Care Center is on par with the iconic Spencer Mansion and RPD. It comes to life, paradocially, througjh the personalities or the recently undead. The uncanny comments from the chef muttering that Grace is boney, Chunk saying this is my fault, the maid bickering about the bloody messes everywhere. Then Leon comes through to relieve the staff of duty. Well paced throughout, probably the best story in the series. Obvious yet tasteful fan service. I'd give it a 9.3 out of ten. Nothing can replace what Re4 was for gaming but this is the best original mainline RE game since and is a must play for anyone.

Resident Evil Requiem - PlayStation 5 5 out of 5 Stars! Pure Horror Thrills! Resident Evil Requiem is the best in the series! It mixes scary first-person survival with Grace, where you sneak, solve puzzles, and manage scarce resources, then switches to Leon's fast third-person action blasting zombies. Back in Raccoon City, the story weaves their paths with emotional depth and shocking twists. Enemies like smart zombies and giant dark lurkers keep you on edge – light becomes your best friend! Graphics shine on PS5 Pro with stunning details, smooth performance, and creepy lighting. Sound design nails the tension with creaks, screams, and heavy weapon thuds. Perfect for fans – nostalgic yet fresh. A must-buy that scares and excites!

This game exceeded my expectations. The graphics are incredibly detailed, and the atmosphere keeps you on edge the entire time. The storyline is engaging and pulls you in right away, with just the right balance of suspense and action. Gameplay feels smooth, and the puzzles add a nice challenge without being frustrating. If you’re a fan of horror or story-driven games, this is definitely worth it. I couldn’t put it down and I highly recommend! I also pre-ordered from Best Buy and picked up on release date.

    Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem feels like stepping into a beautifully decayed nightmare that somehow still has a pulse. From the moment the game begins, it wraps you in that classic Resident Evil tension—tight corridors, distant echoes, and the constant suspicion that something is watching you just out of sight. What really stood out to me is how the game balances nostalgia with fresh ideas. It doesn’t just recycle the old formula—it sharpens it. The atmosphere is thick, almost tangible, like you could scrape it off the walls. Every creak of a door or flicker of light feels intentional, keeping you on edge without relying on cheap jump scares. The gameplay leans more into survival again, which is a welcome shift. Resources are scarce enough to make every bullet feel valuable, but not so limited that it becomes frustrating. Exploration is rewarding, with puzzles that actually make you pause and think instead of just pushing you forward. Visually, the game is stunning in a haunting way. The environments tell their own stories—abandoned spaces that feel lived in, then lost. Character models are detailed, though occasionally animations can feel a bit stiff during intense moments. If there’s a downside, it’s that the pacing dips in certain sections where the tension eases a bit too much. A few areas feel stretched longer than necessary, which slightly dulls the overall impact. Still, Resident Evil Requiem delivers what fans have been craving: a return to dread, strategy, and atmosphere. It’s not just about surviving monsters—it’s about surviving the feeling that you’re never

Resident Evil 9 Requiem is an excellent game in the RE Franchise and one of the best games in the modern era. I enjoyed the hybrid gameplay of being half survival horror and half action horror. Grace's sections felt like the best the RE2R and RE7 gameplay has ever been, the inventory management, map layout and design, and the enemy encounters were great. Leon's gameplay felt like a fun update on re4r's gameplay, being able to sharpen the hatchet instead of paying for repairs like in re4r was a welcomed gameplay choice. With that said, there's some issues I have with the story regarding the use of characters along with not including others. I appreciate Leon as a main character, but it would be nice to see more legacy characters for the Raccoon City section. At least in a cameo or something instead of a passing reference. They also brought in one villain that seems cool, but he barely does anything. Also, there's no mercenaries nor any similar game mode at launch. There's still replayability though, I enjoyed using the bonus weapons on offer along with still being able to blast enemies with infinite ammo as a reward. Overall, an excellent game in the series that just needs some fine tuning.
